When Bryan reaches dead bodies, the police arrive and arrest him after discovering that he has a gun in his pocket.

INT. COURTROOM-DAY-MONTHS LATER

Bryan is a defendant in court.

BRYAN V.O.C.

And then they questioned me in court, saw that I had an identical weapon to what actually killed the three people, and they charged me with first-degree murder after a lengthy case.

The D.A. speaks to Bryan, looking at him without a trace of emotion.

D.A.

(Speaks to Bryan)

The gun that you carried was identical to the one that killed those three men. There were also fingerprints. And you knew those three men as well. You knew them at work for the past two-and-a-half years, and you mentioned that they all had superior positions to you and gave you a difficult time. You also said that their corruption costed you millions of dollars and that you threatened to kill them.

Now what do you want to say, Mr. Hendricks?

Bryan says nothing in reply to the D.A. He just stares at the judge hopelessly.

And a couple of minutes later, the judge pronounces Bryan Hendricks of being guilty.

JUDGE:

Mr. Hendricks, I pronounce you as GUILTY of committing three counts of homicide.

Minutes pass as the judge keeps speaking.

JUDGE (CONT'D)

The death sentence will serve as your punishment. May justice be served.

END FLASHBACK.

INT. VALLEY-SOUTH SECTION OF ARENA-FAR FROM CABIN-DUSK

The group eyes Bryan in shock.

They’ve stopped walking now and simply listen to what he says next.

BRYAN:

And that was it. I was sentenced to death, but then, like all of you, was kidnapped from prison and was given the chance to have my freedom through this game.

The others peer at Bryan with astonishment, but he keeps the same focused look. And he eyes the forest in front of him.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

Come on. Let’s keep going, unless we want all of us to die out here.

The group follows Bryan, and they slowly make their way towards the north end of the forest.

INT. VALLEY-SOUTHEAST SECTION-NIGHT

It’s night time.

Bryan and the others take a slight turn east, bending their way up north towards the east side of the arena, in order to avoid the wolves.

Sweat pours down Veronica’s forehead.

VERONICA:

I’m getting tired. I think we should stop for the night.

BRYAN:

(Checks his watch)

It’s getting close to 9:30. I say we stop.

Thank god.

VERONICA:

Veronica collapses onto the ground.

She takes deep breathes, and then she pulls out a bottle of water and takes a sip.

The people each have at least one knife, a water bottle, a watch, and a flashlight inside a small bag.

Veronica takes off her jacket as they all sit down.

VERONICA (CONT'D)

It’s so humid here.

CURTIS:

Yeah, why is that? Aren’t we trapped inside a glass wall or something?

BRYAN:

The game makers must’ve created artificial weather inside of the arena.

JACK:

As if running away from wolves wasn’t bad enough.

BRYAN:

Yeah, now we’re stuck with immense heat. And my bottle of water is running out already.

Bryan looks helplessly up towards the sky outside of the arena.

His bottle of water is three-quarters empty.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

Can there be rain?

JACK:

Does somebody have a tent? Maybe we can all fit in.

BRYAN:

I don’t have one.

VERONICA:

Me neither.

CURTIS:

Not me.

Jack sighs.

He rests his head on the ground, with only his BLACK bag placed below the back of his head.

Meanwhile, Veronica sees Bryan and comes next to him.

And then she lies beside him on the ground, facing the stars in the sky.

BRYAN:

I wasn’t expecting you to show up.

VERONICA:

Well, I’m here now.

BRYAN:

(Laughs)

You still think I’m guilty?

Veronica shrugs.

She smiles at Bryan as she looks at him.

VERONICA:

You never know. But for now, I don’t think so.

Suddenly, Jack sits up as a realization sets in.

JACK:

Wait. One of us should guard the area while the rest of us sleep.

Bryan sits up.

He frowns as his conversation with Veronica is interrupted.

BRYAN:

Alright. I will.

JACK:

Are you sure?

BRYAN:

Yeah. I don’t think that anybody else is willing to right now.

Ok.

JACK:

BRYAN:

Let’s say we move in about an hour from now. That gives you guys an hour of sleep.

JACK:

Alright. Does everybody else agree with Bryan’s plan?

The others nod quickly.

And then they go to sleep while Bryan stays up, surveying the surroundings around himself carefully.

EXT. CABIN-NIGHT

About an hour later, the seven remaining wolves creep up silently to the cabin.

They surround the cabin and barge into it. Once they find nobody, they leave the cabin.

INT. VALLEY-SOUTHEAST SECTION-NIGHT

The two hours have passed.

BRYAN:

We need to get up.

The others slowly come to.

Veronica looks at Bryan questioningly.

VERONICA:

Are we going somewhere?

BRYAN:

Yeah. I sense trouble. We have to keep on heading north.

VERONICA:

(Anxiously)

Do you think they already got here?

BRYAN:

I don’t know. I didn’t hear them.

VERONICA:

Oh, then how do you know that we’re in trouble?

BRYAN:

I just sense it.

Near Bryan, Jack rolls his eyes.

JACK:

You “sense” it. Now we have to follow your feelings?

Veronica gives Jack a dirty look.

VERONICA:

Or you can stay here by yourself if you like.

CURTIS:

Yeah, we’re all going, so...you might as well come too.

BRYAN:

Let’s stop talking and start preparing to leave.

Both Bryan and the others gather their belongings. Bryan finishes first, and Jack, last.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

Come on. You’re lagging behind, man. We need to get going.

JACK:

(With attitude) Sure, whatever.

Veronica and Curtis both glance at each other after Jack makes his statement in a not-so-friendly manner. Jack gets up with his bag and tosses it angrily over his shoulder.

VERONICA:

What’s got him into a mood?

CURTIS:

I don’t know.

BRYAN:

(Yells angrily)

I said, come on-let’s get going!

Veronica is the last to be ready.

VERONICA:

(Sincerely apologizes) Sorry.

As soon as she’s ready, the group heads even further north. A couple of minutes later, Bryan checks his watch.

It’s 11:
30 at night.

BRYAN:

We have a long night ahead of us.

The four walk as close as they can to the east side of the arena as they go north.

Veronica walks to the right of Bryan; and the others are on his left.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

Be careful. The boundary of the arena is probably close to us now. It’s made out of glass, so it’s difficult to see, especially at night.

VERONICA:

Alright, I’ll just-

Suddenly, the right side of Veronica’s body slams into the glass boundary of the arena.

She nearly falls over. Bryan runs to her.

VERONICA (CONT'D)

That hurt a lot.

BRYAN:

Sit down and relax for a moment.

Veronica merely nods her head after Bryan’s suggestion. And she sits down on the grass.

Jack stifles a laugh and Curtis looks at him angrily.

CURTIS:

Do you think this is funny?

JACK:

Just a little bit.

CURTIS:

What’s wrong with you, man?

JACK:

(Says a little too loudly) She’s so weak.

BRYAN:

Just shut-up!

Bryan stands up and walks towards Jack.

He shoves him, and then Jack attempts to shove back. However, Bryan notices this then he punches him in the face.
