"Well, right back to ya, Susan," Katie replied.

"Sam," Another Yale student said. "What's your opinion of A Separate Peace, John Knowles?"

"Historic and powerful and finally pure," Sam replied, smiling.

"Nice," He responded.

"My favorite character of that," Katie said. "Is Gene."

"Well, my so-called best-loved character," Sam said. "Is Finny."

"That's typical," She said.

"Oh yeah," He replied.

Chapter 4

Sam and Katie kissed. "Well, tonight was epic," Sam said. They returned to their dorm.

"Oh yeah," responded Katie.

The next day, at like 4 PM something. Sam went into work. "Working late tonight?" Katie said.

"Apparently yes," He responded.

Sam made his arrival to work. "Hey Bud," Anthony said.

"Hi," Sam said.

"Well, this will be," Anthony said. "A great polar opposite for you. Working a night shift this evening."

"Yes," Sam replied.

"You can do it," He responded. "You're a hard worker. And one of my best at that."

"Thanks," said Sam.

He punched in. Later, at the end of his shift. Chuck punched out. "Sam," He said. "I'm punching out."

"You are?" Sam said.

"Yeah," Chuck replied.

He left and a couple finished. Eating their meals. Sam started to sweep and wipe down tables. "Thanks, it was great. Y'all are awesome," the couple said.

"Hope y'all have a nice night," Sam replied.

They left. He cleaned up their mess. Then he heard a growl. Like that of a monster or something.

"What is that?" Sam said.

"I'm hungry, Sam," the monster said. "I'm hungry."

He turned around and saw a huge sandwich-like monster. It had huge, yellow eyes and a giant mouth of sharp teeth. Having lots of vegetables and cheese and dressing.

"What the f***?!" said Sam.

"I'm hungry for you," the Sandwich monster responded. "I'm the Sandwich at Cool heart's."

Quickly Sam grabbed the table. And threw it at the monster. But the Sandwich at Cool heart's ate the whole goddamn table. Then the Sandwich at Cool heart's moved towards him.

Tried to eat him. "Oh I can eat you alive," He said.

Quickly Sam ran to the doors trying to escape. And yet the doors were locked. The Sandwich at Cool heart's advanced to him. Shooting vegetables and honey mustard dressing at him.

He avoided them and ran to another door. Which was locked. "You're my so-called meal, Sam," the Sandwich at Cool heart's said. "You can't escape."

Then Sam ran to another door. Which was locked too. The Sandwich at Cool heart's. Shot a huge jalapeno at him.

Painfully he fell down. The monster strolled, walked to him. Sam was blind momentarily. The Sandwich picked him up. Although the noise from the business phone.

Resulted in the monster dropping him. And he disappeared. Sam could see again and got up. Looking around just to double check.

If the Sandwich at Cool Heart's. Was still around or something. He walked semi fast to the phone. Answering it. "Hello, this is Sam at Cool Heart's on Flame ," He said.

"It's Katie," Katie said.

"Hello Katie," Sam responded.

"Sam," Katie responded. "You okay?"

"I don't know," replied Sam. "I think I went through a super weird circumstance, situation."

"What happened?" Katie said.

"I know you are not going to believe this," responded Sam. "But I was attacked by a super big sandwich-like monster."

"That is ridiculous," Katie replied.

"I know," He responded.

"Do I have this right," Katie said. "You saw a super big sandwich -like monster."

"That's right, Hun," Sam replied.

"Well, I don't believe you," She responded.

"I realize that this seems like bull," He said. "I can understand but believe me. Darling, I'm not making this up. It's very true."

"Well, I'll try to believe you," Katie responded.

"I'm coming to our dorm," Sam said. "Let me finish closing and I'll be there."

"Finish closing, wait a second," Katie replied. "You said a monster attacked you."

"I know," He responded. "And yet I can take my chances."

Chapter 5

“Thank God,” Katie said, hugging Sam. “You are alive and breathing.”

“Oh yeah,” He replied, they kissed as they hugged.

"Come, My Darling," she said. "Samantha made us cheese burgers and fries. Of course champagne too."

"Yummy," Sam responded.

"Is she still working at Husty's Burgers?" He said.

"Yeah," Katie replied.

Chapter 6

"We won, Sam," Chuck said. "We won."

"Oh yeah," Sam responded.

They entered the immense party. Full of lots of people. They all cheered and clapped. Sam and Chuck got glasses of champagne.

"To Sam and Chuck and our other great football players," said Katie and other students. "Congratulations!"

"Well, thanks," Sam replied.

"I appreciate it," Chuck responded.

There were lots of tacos, salad, caviar, and more. Sam and Chuck made themselves a plate. Katie and Chuck's girlfriend hugged them. When they came to the table.

They were sitting at. Sam and Katie drank champagne and cups of Dos Equis. "I did a discussion post for ENGL 126," Chuck's girlfriend said. "I'm very proud of doing that."

"That's great," Sam replied.

"Thank you," She responded.

Anthony walked over to where they were sitting. “Nice party,” He said. “How are ya’ll?”

“Pretty good, Anthony,” Katie responded.

“Hey Tony,” Sam responded.

“Samuel,” He replied. “I’m sorry about what happened at work that night. I wish to make it up to ya’ll. Come tomorrow night at 7 to the job. We’re having a party and I’d like for Katie and you to come.”

“Ok, Tony,” Sam replied.

“Uh, sure,” Katie responded.

“Well, I’m so glad,” Anthony replied. “That ya’ll are coming. By the way, I congratulate ya’ll for school. And you, Sam, for your victory in football.”

“Thank you,” He responded.

“Sam and Katie,” Tony said. “I know that I came here and didn’t get an invite. But can I stick around? I am a party animal.”

“Yeah,” they both responded.

“Great, thanks,” Anthony replied. “Sam, you are a hard worker, reasonable, and awesome. And you’re looking ravishing, Katie.”

“Thanks, Tony,” Sam responded.

“Thank you, Anthony,” Katie replied.

“Ya’ll need to party hard tonight,” Anthony said.

“You need to let your wife, Heather, know you here,” Katie replied.

“Don’t worry,” He responded. “I’ll let her know. F*** the b*tch.”

He walked off and got a glass of Dos Equis. “What an a**hole,” Katie said. “So why do you choose to work for that creep?”
