"The unavoidable complexities of her controversial decision." Except none of those complexities were unavoidable, barring those that come with being a single mother. She never had to tell him that he was a clone, and the way he vaguely remembered his biological mother was completely unrealistic. She could have raised him as any normal mother would, and could have pretended to share the other mothers' ideologies about cloning. She made the consequences of her decision more complex than they needed to be by treating him as her equal rather than a son, by staying in that town, and by letting her true feelings about human replication slip through. Furthermore, she wasn't forced to bear his clone; as the very same description notes, it was a DECISION she made. A very elaborate one too.
