TONY:

Keep it like that, honey, and you will get it in a matter of months.

Tony grabs his mug and exits the kitchen. Kiara scoffs at the table.

EXT. SIDEWALK. DAY.

Clifford is walking down the road, kicking stones on his way and says in an angry tone.

CLIFFORD:

Those a**holes! I f***ing hate them!

ALEX (OFFSCREEN):

You know? You shouldn’t talk this sh*t about your parents.

ALEX (ONSCREEN):

They’ve got eyes and ears everywhere.

CLIFFORD:

You know where your eyes and ears will be once I am done with you?

ALEX:

Don’t have to tell me twice.

CLIFFORD:

Where is your brother?

JOHN:

All business all of the sudden, huh? Missing me already, Reyes?

Clifford, John and Alex shake hands

CLIFFORD:

Not at all, but I just miss the formidable duo, I cannot imagine the two of you apart.

Clifford's voice plays over.

CLIFFORD:

These are my best friends, and believe it or not they are twin brothers, Alex and John Decker. They are my getaway from my family, and frankly they understand me.

ALEX:

So, needed a little break before Sabine’s test?

CLIFFORD:

Gotta let the information sink in. You know?

Clifford has a sudden headache. Clifford recovers from the pain.

CLIFFORD:

That’s new…

JOHN:

You good? Did you fall off your bed and hit your head again?

CLIFFORD:

If you want to know, my dearly beloved sister decided to pair my head with the bottom of a frying pan this morning.

JOHN:

Guess the pan rejected you too.

CLIFFORD:

Oh please, I am too good for a pan.

ALEX:

You know what will reject us? Sabine in class if we don’t get there on time.

JOHN:

Oh sh*t!

The three start running.

INT. NURONA HIGH - ENGLISH CLASSROOM. DAY

Clifford, John and Alex enter the room, all three exhaling and breathing heavily. There, SABINE (30) starts handing out the exam papers.

CLIFFORD:

Just in time…

SABINE:

Looks like the three of you are late again, luckily for you, the test hadn’t begun so.

Clifford's voice begins playing over.

CLIFFORD:

That’s Sabine Klest. My English teacher. Well, she’s more than that. But you’ll see later. While many teachers are under my parents’ influence, Sabine believes them to be corruptors, and let’s be honest… they really are. So, I’m glad she actually understands me.

SABINE:

Imma guess, everyone is here. So the test can begin.

Clifford, John and Alex sit down. Clifford begins writing on his paper when he has a second headache in the middle of the exam. Clifford says in his mind.

CLIFFORD:

Oh god… not now! Not now! Breathe, Clifford! Breathe!

SABINE:

Reyes! Are you alright?

Clifford panics.

CLIFFORD:

Yeah, you know, just a little bit of headache! (In his mind) Why the f*** is this happening now?!
