CHARLES. My jaw drops to hear her say such fiction, and believe it.

SHAWNITA:

“So there's this connection. For example, I think about capitalism and put it say the supermarket, say loreal, Kay diamond, or Alexis shopping center, and I close my eyes and concentrate, and the Alexis Nihon shop is burning,” She laughs guilty of her fire and mental complex.

CHARLES:

“Don’t you think it is a coincidence that these fires start? You are just tricking your brain into thinking these fires are your actions. Or is it more of a commission?” I argue.

SHAWNITA:

“My what?”

CHARLES:

“That you're responsible for the fires or are voices telling you to do so,” I restate to her

CHARLES:

I thought of something else to persuade her, so I say, “Anyone can turn on the TV, switch news channels until one is about the latest fire blowing up.”

SHAWNITA:

“No, you see, I think about place first.”

THIRD SESSION. CHANGE SCENE

Her name in the client file reads her name is Estella Kamila Kimberly. It has her guarding officer as her potential benevolent figure because of the inadequacy of her parents.

KAMILA:

“I‘ll go out to PE class which sucks because it is my first class of the day. I walk and put my head down because I think people are watching and gossiping about me. I just feel like the whole class is against me. I feel like there are voices murmuring about me. I think about killing myself many times. I take a blade and slice it down my wrist.”

CHARLES:

“So people scare you because you're afraid they will dislike you. The need for acceptance.”

She is still and silent.

CHARLES:

“OK, let's start with removing all sharp objects until we can fully resolve this. I will have the police confiscate all rubber bands or any sort of bracelet. Also, buy plastic forks.”

CHARLES CONTINUED

“The court has a police officer that checks up on you. I will call her to do this.”

CHANGE SCENE.4RTH SESSION. TWEEN SESSION

A thirteen-year-old boy in middle school, freckles, zits, glasses, and a dome-shaped haircut of a male Maltese. He walked timidly, looking at the ground. His mother sits next to him as we speak. His father and mother are beside him. His father: a donkey haircut, dress shirt, and shorts. His mother is overweight, but with minor jewelry and loose pants with a jersey.

CHARLES:

“What's your name?

CHARLES:

“ I am only here because I am forced to."

TWEEN'S MOTHER

The mother tells me more,” He screams and shouts a lot, very good at slamming doors. “

CHARLES:

I say, “We are going to have a sit down every week, once a day, okay. I want him to have a clock for 60min every hour. When it rings, he will get chips."

TWEEN'S SESSION CONT.

I tumble through my equipment of boxes of therapeutic toys, board games, etcetera. The boxes have poker table chips.

CHARLES:

"We will use these to exchange goods and accommodations for his life. For example, 50 means going outside. 20, his favorite toy. I want you as a family to set up his routine and what amount correlates to what. okay."

Charles stands up, slouching over to them this:

CHARLES:

"When we see ourselves next week, Please give me your observations. Take a poster paper and make a chart of all the positive reinforcers. Write a column of what he likes to watch. Especially his favorite portions."

INT:
FRONT OFFICE SPACE AND WAITING LOUNGE OF HUMAN RESOURCES CENTER BUILDING.

CHARLES (V.O)

Well, my seven patients a day soon changed when Leaorine Bridges applied to my counseling. She walked up to my front desk with signed papers in hand when I assisted her with the enrollment.

WAITING ROOM SCENE CONT.

In our first session, she arrived late, 10 minutes. She was of blonde hair, face shaped like a piece of jewelry or a glass lighting pendant. Eyes of clarity of an everyday intelligent woman living in a less than intelligent world. Out of place. She smiled and gave a small wave.

LEAORINE:

“I’m sorry I’m late. I had to drop off my kid at school,“ she said.

CUT TO SCENE. INT: CHARLES' SESSION THERAPY LOUNGE

She had a soft tone of voice. I thought to myself, maybe this was a mistake, She seems perfectly normal and sane.

CHARLES:

“Are you sure this is the right choice for you, I mean, (chuckle) you look fine, “ I said with a small hand motion.

She leaned back in her chair, in ease as no one is in this place.

LEAORINE:

“I suppose, I am not on the inside, gosh, you should have seen me a few years back. I’ve been diagnosed as a manic depressive, with reason. Been told I have deep unresolved relationship conflicts with my father, sure, yeah,” she says this part with assurance, “but I doubt I’ll go out with the intention to kill someone again. Everyone has their dark days. I think if your dad beats you routinely wanting to ax their face in is at least an understandable thing to do.”

There was something about her that is buoyant silliness, as a theatre actress would be scared on stage, yet decided to smile.

CHARLES (V.O)

I felt a feeling of relief from talking to the other 7 clients whose self-absorbed and pessimistic selves rage out to you. After these two long years of whining, I was finally set to a little harmless repartee.

LEAORINE SESSION CONT.

I write in my notebook. THE CAMERA CUTS TO A PAGE IN IT:

Father issues

Relationship struggles?

BACK TO CHARLES TALKING:

CHARLES. I look up from writing and say,

“Would you like to talk about your father?”

LEAORINE:

“Ah, well he fought in the war, I don’t know his PTSD? His personality would clash with mine.”

After a pause of her recollecting, she continues:

LEAORINE:

“He would leave me with my kid, and come back out of the blue after a year, with other men, dressed with guns, and storm our house. And they would tear the place apart. After he finds his stash of money on the rooftops of several houses abandoned, I am left with nothing, no cash. However, I have learned to keep an open separate account. You bring your passport, driver’s license, state identification card, birth certificate, or Social Security card. Some banks will allow you to provide one form of identification and a bill addressed to you. Banks also require a minimum opening deposit. And so on. Now, it's not his right, so the next year, if he suddenly steps on the front door, I have his money at the house I won't be in. He pays it. I stay at an apartment, and Chloe stays in daycare.”

Ian R. Carrillo Castro 28 October 2020 Short Bibliography If I were to write a paper about my life? What would I write? Well, this is what I would write. I am a leader, I am hardworking, and I am willing to set goals and use a creative strategy to solve it. I am a student because my parents believe it is smart to lead your kid off to a bright future. English class is always fun when doing essays because I have gotten the knack of writing them and narratives. Narratives can also be creative. Ever since I can remember, I’ve always been creative. I played with legos as a kid. Regularly I would buy ones from the merchandise of a movie. Even though they did not look as perfect as the scene on the screen, I would mix them with other pieces to be more accurate. Also, I ditched the instructions and I would figure out how to construct them on my own and see where I messed up. I built my own Batcave, suits, guns, avengers tower, and so on. I used my imagination to fit my interests instead of blatantly regurgitating what was asked of me. The important aspect was that I would create my own set, and not follow the rules. Nowadays, I am still creative. I am constantly having fun doing something creative, the only problem is I run out of creativity. In the meantime this would happen, I would read a book to keep occupied. One of my skills is making 3dmodels, here are many websites to do this on.. Tinkercad for example is an Autodesk website where one can create 3D images or models. Other similar sites include: Cospaces, Onshape, Sketchfab to view 3D, and Blender. In Tinkercad, I created a suit replica of the Batman Begins with it’s closet, all three Iron Man arc reactors from the movies, and more suits. I began writing when an English class in seventh grade struck me with how exhilarating writing is. In my want to pursue writing, I keep practicing at it. I went to creative writing courses and practiced. In my research of writing, I came across the book, Story, by Robert McKee. He explains the principles of story writing in the means of a script portrayed on a film, but is still a narrative. Types of plots: none or anti-plot, arch plot, and minimalist. McKee also says researching an area relating to your book to fight clichés. You know what clichés are, the nerd won't get a girl, or the jock without a brain. My father also bought me a book of flash cards giving ways to fix writer's block. Writing a mystery is, for then the reader will solve it by reading. An adventure is one where the character will see a series of events for fun. At least this is what I thought. Not anymore. An adventure story still has a want and cost relationship. Mystery is tried down to discoveries and setbacks to the detective. Or whoever solved it. Mckee also stresses the questions and mystery must be solved by the end. Talking to others when the time arises about life and events helps bring out other perspectives. Languages I speak are english and spanish. Skills and Interests are skateboarding, boxing and Bo staff tricks, calisthenics, weightlifting, researching the web, reading, making 3dmodels, creative writing, and watching movies. In Boxing, I went through Feb 2019 to Mar 2020 on Mondays and Fridays. Maxwell's' Boxing center. The one at Miramar Rd Site. The coach would have us shadowbox after putting on the tape, then we go for a round on the punching bags. Sometimes we would practice sparring with partners. The coach would give different punches with numbers assigned to them. Each in different combinations to do that day. I have always been athletically inclined. Not that I would join leagues, but that I would exercise. Besides the gym, I started skateboarding. First learn the ollies, slide one foot, and hop with both. then practice while riding. After the ollies, move on to nollies, 180’s, 360’s and from there you have the basics. There are probably 20 types ranging from backspin, heelflip, kickflip, bigspin, along with their combinations of 180 and full circle degrees. I keep falling, but persevere. Recently I bought a Bo staff to learn all sorts of spinning tricks. It's as though a windmill lives in my arms. As an eleven year old, I always dreamed of doing this as efficiently. No matter how fast you go, what matters is that you never stop. The continuous motion and weight from the thicker end of the staff drives the spin along my hands. I played DC comics associated video games. Their characters such as Robin and Nightwing used their martial arts technique to fight, thus I became eager to learn it. I also used to rock climb. I learned there you must follow a path of the guide colors on the walls. Especially the times you must climb while your belly faces the rock toward the ceiling, with only your fingers dangling on therock's edges.
