FADE IN:

EXT. SPRINGEVILLE PARK - EVENING

The sun shines bright in the sky.

A flock of birds fly past some white clouds.

4 basketball nets sit on each side of a wide basketball court.

Two red slides sit on both sides of a large playground.

A little boy named MAX COOPER (7), very energetic, shoots down one of the slides.

He freezes, staring at a little person, wearing all green and leather apron shoes appear out from behind a tree.

Max approaches the little green person.

MAX:

Hello their!

The little person holds their hand over their chest, jumping back.

Max jumping up and down in excitement when he realizes it's a LEPRECHAUN (31).

MAX:

Are you a real leprechaun?

The leprechaun smiles.

LEPRECHAUN:

Yes I am.

Max waving his hands up and down.

MAX:

Wow! You know everyone would always tell me that leprechauns didn't exist.

LEPRECHAUN:

Yeah lots of people think we don't exist. We just like to stay stay hidden.

MAX:

Well ok. Do you have a name?

LEPRECHAUN:

They call me Goldclover, what about you?

MAX:

I'm Max.

GOLDCLOVER:

Nice to meet you.

MALE:
(O.S.)

Max!

Turning his head around, Max sees his older brother JAMES COOPER (16), very adventurous, stands at the top of hill.

JAMES:

Max come on!

Goldclover looks at Max.

GOLDCLOVER:

Who is that?

MAX:

That's my brother.

Max runs over to James.

JAMES:

Come on. Power Rangers is playing and I don't want to miss it!

MAX:

Wait..I want to introduce you to my leprechaun friend.

James starts laughing.

JAMES:

Stop joking around Max and let's come home.

James turns around.

MAX:

No I'm serious I met a leprechaun.

James turns his head and follows behind Max.

James mouth dropped to the ground as Max and Goldclover approach him.

MAX:

Goldclover this is my brother James.

Max looks over at James.

MAX:

James this is Goldclover the leprechaun.

JAMES:

Holy crap Max you were not lying. So do you guys collect gold and stuff?

GOLDCLOVER:

Sure, you want me to show you guys our underground village?

Max shakes his hands around.

MAX:

Sure!

Max and James follow Goldclover from behind as he walks away.

INT. LEPRECHAUN VILLAGE - NIGHT

Silver coins move down a conveyor belt.

A LEPRECHAUN (31) passes by with a large bags of coins.

Many other LEPRECHAUNS (ages 30-40) sit at a station, making shoes.

Max and James looking mesmerized around as they walk inside with Goldclover.

GOLDCLOVER:

Here is our village. Here make shoes and where we keep our gold.

A leprechaun, SHAMROCK (45), long orange beard, holding a book, turns around as Goldclover, James, and Max approach him.

SHAMROCK:

Hey Goldclover, who are your friends?

GOLDCLOVER:

This is James and Max.

Shamrock smiles at Max and James.

GOLDCLOVER:

James, Max, this is Shamrock, the leader of all of the leprechauns.

MAX:

Nice to meet you.

James looking around.

JAMES:

So do you guys eat lucky charms and shit?

Shamrock turning his head in confusion.

SHAMROCK:

No..we don't.

Their is awkward silence.

GOLDCLOVER:

Let me show you guys more of the village.

Max and James follow Liam as he walks away.

INT. GOLD ROOM - NIGHT

Large piles of gold sit in the middle of the room.

Opening the door, Max's eyes pop out his sockets as they walk into the room.

GOLDCLOVER:

This is where we keep all our gold.

James eyes wide open as he looks at the gold.

JAMES:

Holy shit.

GOLDCLOVER:

You could buy the entire earth with these coins.

James looking behind at his butt.

JAMES:

I was expecting a rainbow to come out my ass.

A BUZZING vibrates and James stocks his hand into his pants pocket.

A text message appears on James phone from his mom that reads...

JAMES MOM:

Are you guys coming home?

James's fingers race across his phone keyboard.

JAMES:

Yes we will be home shortly.

James puts his phone in his pocket, tapping on Max's shoulder.

JAMES:

Mom wants us to come home.

GOLDCLOVER:

Well it was good meeting you both.

JAMES:

Good meeting you too.

James and Max speed walk out of the room.

INT. JAMES BEDROOM - NIGHT

A swimsuit model calendar hangs on the wall.

A flat screen TV sits against the wall.

A medium sized sofa bed sits against the wall.

James sits in his talking with his friend on the phone.

JAMES:

Dude I am not playing, met a real leprechaun...make it even better they had an entire pot of gold.

JAMES FRIEND:
(V.O.)

What?! No way!

JAMES:

Yeah dude..I was thinking we gotta sneak down to their village and steal their gold.

JAMES FRIEND:
(V.O.)

Oh I'm in. I'll be over soon.

JAMES:

Alright man.

James hangs up the phone.

INT. JAMES HOUSE HALLWAY - NIGHT

Theirs a LOUD KNOCK at the door as James runs down the steps.

Widening the door, his friend NATE SIMSON (16), really gullible, stands outside.

JAMES:

Follow me.

Nate follows Nate from behind as they go upstairs.

INT. JAMES BEDROOM - NIGHT

James and Nate rush into his room.

NATE:

So what's up we doing this or what?

James runs around his room, throwing his clothes all around.

JAMES:

I'm straight dude.

NATE:

That's not what I meant.

JAMES:

I know I'm just fucking with you. But yeah I just gotta find something.

James leans down next to his bed and pulls out two large wool bags out from underneath his bed.

Walking over to Nate James hands him one.

JAMES:

Here. We can use these to put the coins in.

Taking the bag Nate SNAPS his finger, pointing to James.

NATE:

Good thinking.

JAMES:

Alright we're good to go.

They both exit the bedroom.

EXT. SPRINGEVILLE PARK - NIGHT

Bright street lights brighten the basketball court.

James and Nate sneak through the park, holding their large bags.

EXT. LEPRECHAUN VILLAGE - NIGHT

Racing to the door their hands shake, holding the bags.

Placing his hand on the door James slowly opens it.

INT. LEPRECHAUN VILLAGE - NIGHT

Many of the leprechaun lie around with their eyes shut.

Peaking his head inside James does a hand motion to Nate to come on.

Their hearts BEAT through their chests as they step over all the leprechauns.

Nate looses his balance as he steps over the last leprechaun.

Nate waves his hands in the air.

Stumbling back Nate falls into a table.

Sliding across the floor, the sound of SCRAPING echoes through one of the leprechauns ears.

Nate and James hearts POUND through their chests as one of the leprechauns start moving.

Opening their eyes the leprechaun guides his eyes around.

Nate and James peak out from behind the wall, watching as the leprechaun goes back to sleep.

Nate wipes his head, taking a deep breathe, whispering to James.

NATE:

That was a close one.

James whispering to Nate.

JAMES:

That's what she said.

Nate and James tip toe in a fast motion.

INT. GOLD ROOM - NIGHT

Opening the door James peaking his head inside.

Hurrying into the room Nate mouth dropping below his chin.
