96 Minutes

Synopsis: Inspired by true events, 96 minutes is the story of four young lives slammed together in one shocking moment. The events of the night in inner city Atlanta, Georgia, unfold in real time as we inter-cut between a carjacking and the beginning of that day, following four separate kids - who they are, where they come from, and the seemingly innocuous decisions that lead them towards a life changing conclusion. With no adults to guide them, they're left on their own to try to survive not only this night, but the complex reality of the world they live in.

00:
01:08,628 -- 00:01:10,274

Holy sh*t! Sh*t!

5

00:
01:11,266 -- 00:01:12,194

It's okay.

6

00:
01:12,260 -- 00:01:13,393

We'll be all right.

7

00:
01:13,459 -- 00:01:14,691

Okay, it's okay. It's okay.

8

00:
01:14,755 -- 00:01:16,129

- Shh. Be cool.

- No, we are far from cool!

9

00:
01:16,193 -- 00:01:17,905

What the f***

is wrong with you?!

10

00:
01:17,969 -- 00:01:18,482

Oh, f***.

11

00:
01:18,546 -- 00:01:19,569

What's happening?

12

00:
01:19,633 -- 00:01:21,266

She's bleeding. Is she okay?

13

00:
01:21,378 -- 00:01:22,675

I... I don't know. I don't know.

14

00:
01:22,740 -- 00:01:24,578

Why the f*** is she

bleeding so much?

15

00:
01:24,643 -- 00:01:26,482

'Cause she's shot in the f***ing face.

What do you think?

16

00:
01:26,547 -- 00:01:27,713

Sh*t!

17

00:
01:27,778 -- 00:01:28,960

Hold on, man.

18

00:
01:29,026 -- 00:01:31,376

- What the f***?

- Everybody hold on.

19

00:
01:31,442 -- 00:01:32,192

Hold on!

21

00:
03:40,171 -- 00:03:41,372

Hi, Ms. Williams.

22

00:
04:09,850 -- 00:04:11,483

Hi. Sorry I'm late.

23

00:
04:11,547 -- 00:04:13,850

Don't worry. We're still

waiting on Michael.

24

00:
04:13,914 -- 00:04:15,802

Sh*t. Did someone call him?

25

00:
04:15,866 -- 00:04:17,561

No. You want me to?

26

00:
04:17,626 -- 00:04:19,803

No. I'll call him.

27

00:
04:26,122 -- 00:04:27,210

Hello.

28

00:
04:27,275 -- 00:04:29,003

Hi. It's Carley.

29

00:
04:29,067 -- 00:04:30,330

Um...

30

00:
04:30,395 -- 00:04:31,818

You coming to school?

31

00:
04:31,883 -- 00:04:33,323

Oh, sh*t.

32

00:
04:33,387 -- 00:04:35,048

- Yeah.

- Who is it?

33

00:
04:35,113 -- 00:04:37,385

Um, all right.

I'll be right there.

34

00:
04:40,363 -- 00:04:42,506

Babe, where are you going?

35

00:
04:42,570 -- 00:04:44,331

I gotta go.

36

00:
04:44,395 -- 00:04:45,722

Where?

37

00:
04:45,787 -- 00:04:48,346

It's a group class thing.

38

00:
04:48,410 -- 00:04:49,849

Right now?

39

00:
04:49,913 -- 00:04:50,920

Come on, Lena.

40

00:
04:50,986 -- 00:04:53,528

You're not gonna be

insecure about this, too.

41

00:
04:53,594 -- 00:04:56,249

No. I'm not insecure.

42

00:
05:01,498 -- 00:05:04,248

Okay. Well, are we

still on for tonight?

43

00:
05:04,314 -- 00:05:06,312

Uh, I can't tonight, baby.

44

00:
05:08,585 -- 00:05:10,265

Another group?

45

00:
05:10,330 -- 00:05:11,545

I got a thing.

46

00:
05:11,609 -- 00:05:14,679

Listen, this insecurity thing

is really starting to wear...

47

00:
05:14,745 -- 00:05:16,872

Why can't you just tell me

what you're doing tonight?

48

00:
05:16,937 -- 00:05:20,167

Why do I have to?

Can't you just trust me?

49

00:
05:22,360 -- 00:05:24,102

I gotta go.

50

00:
05:24,168 -- 00:05:26,135

See you later.

51

00:
05:26,200 -- 00:05:27,529

Wait.

52

00:
05:28,825 -- 00:05:30,344

I love you.

53

00:
06:02,311 -- 00:06:03,446

Morning, handsome.

54

00:
06:03,510 -- 00:06:04,598

Hey, Ms. Brown.

55

00:
06:04,663 -- 00:06:06,038

You look ravishing today.

56

00:
06:06,103 -- 00:06:07,286

- Today?

- Always.

57

00:
06:07,350 -- 00:06:10,006

Uh... Huh. You get

the final word yet?

58

00:
06:10,071 -- 00:06:11,606

Nah, not yet.

59

00:
06:13,270 -- 00:06:15,797

I'm gonna say

a prayer for you, kid.

60

00:
06:15,862 -- 00:06:17,878

Appreciate it.

61

00:
06:17,942 -- 00:06:19,221

Need all that I can get.

62

00:
06:23,382 -- 00:06:24,884

Don't be late

for school, little man.

63

00:
06:24,950 -- 00:06:27,430

Yeah. Yeah, I... I'm going.

64

00:
06:29,702 -- 00:06:31,268

What's on your mind, Ray?

65

00:
06:31,333 -- 00:06:33,636

I... Look, I know I'm

supposed to be on tonight,

66

00:
06:33,701 -- 00:06:36,613

but you think it'd be okay

if I cut out a little early?

67

00:
06:36,678 -- 00:06:37,541

Say what?!

68

00:
06:37,606 -- 00:06:40,036

Can I cut out

a little early tonight?

69

00:
06:40,102 -- 00:06:42,293

How early? I don't know.

70

00:
06:43,877 -- 00:06:44,611

Early.

71

00:
06:44,677 -- 00:06:46,805

So I gotta stay late and close?

72

00:
06:46,869 -- 00:06:49,156

Can I go? Who is she?

73

00:
06:50,436 -- 00:06:51,654

Come on, Uncle Duane.

74

00:
06:51,718 -- 00:06:53,364

Come on. Come on. Come on.

75

00:
06:53,429 -- 00:06:54,660

Who's the lucky lady?

76

00:
06:54,725 -- 00:06:56,069

Can I go?

77

00:
06:56,134 -- 00:06:58,274

Don't hold out on me, man.

78

00:
06:58,340 -- 00:07:00,579

You're asking me

for a favor, so...

79

00:
07:02,293 -- 00:07:03,780

Who is she?

80

00:
07:03,845 -- 00:07:05,604

Her name's Sarah.

81

00:
07:08,197 -- 00:07:09,252

Sarah.

82

00:
07:10,341 -- 00:07:11,906

Dre!

83

00:
07:11,971 -- 00:07:12,899

Whoo!

84

00:
07:13,044 -- 00:07:14,258

Ha ha!

85

00:
07:14,323 -- 00:07:15,475

Sarah.

86

00:
07:15,540 -- 00:07:17,315

That's a nice name.

87

00:
07:17,381 -- 00:07:19,746

That's a nice name.

88

00:
07:27,875 -- 00:07:29,411

Go on. I'll see you

after school.

89

00:
07:29,475 -- 00:07:30,370

Uh, what about...

90

00:
07:30,435 -- 00:07:31,411

Go on. Go on, Ray.

91

00:
07:36,756 -- 00:07:39,252

Out the back way. Out the back.

92

00:
07:39,315 -- 00:07:41,265

Brother got a .22 out.

93

00:
07:41,330 -- 00:07:42,467

What you mean?

94

00:
07:42,532 -- 00:07:44,050

Drop that n*gger, bro.

95

00:
07:44,115 -- 00:07:46,417

Just, like,

rolled up on that ass.

96

00:
07:49,491 -- 00:07:52,898

Gonna roll up and shoot

that game and sh*t.

97

00:
07:52,964 -- 00:07:54,850

Ribs ready yet?

98

00:
07:55,073 -- 00:07:57,712

Just started the fire.

We open at 11:
00.

99

00:
07:57,778 -- 00:07:59,153

Hey, come on, bro.

I'm hungry, cuz.

100

00:
07:59,218 -- 00:08:00,802

Y'all ain't got

nothin' back there?

101

00:
08:00,865 -- 00:08:03,921

Come back later. I'll have

something for you then.

102

00:
08:04,051 -- 00:08:07,057

Why don't you go

fetch me some chips,

103

00:
08:07,122 -- 00:08:08,402

a couple cokes.

104

00:
08:22,530 -- 00:08:23,807

Keep the change.

105

00:
08:25,457 -- 00:08:27,152

Let's get out of here.

106

00:
08:27,665 -- 00:08:29,649

F*** is you looking at?

107

00:
08:34,865 -- 00:08:37,311

Now, everyone has

to get these exams signed

108

00:
08:37,376 -- 00:08:39,263

by a parent or guardian, okay?

109

00:
08:39,328 -- 00:08:41,921

Those of you with exceptions

know who you are,

110

00:
08:41,985 -- 00:08:43,361

but unfortunately,

111

00:
08:43,425 -- 00:08:47,808

some of you will be back

again for another semester,

112

00:
08:47,872 -- 00:08:50,671

and some of you will be needing

to go to the front office

113

00:
08:50,736 -- 00:08:54,991

to pick up your cap and gown

for graduation next week.

114

00:
08:55,057 -- 00:08:56,752

Congratulations.

115

00:
09:04,816 -- 00:09:05,709

Hi.

116

00:
09:05,774 -- 00:09:07,376

What are you doing here?

117

00:
09:07,440 -- 00:09:08,527

I live here. Heh.

118

00:
09:08,592 -- 00:09:09,646

You pay rent here,

119

00:
09:09,712 -- 00:09:11,470
