EXT. NEVERMORE - DAY (reddish hue)

Scene 1

A CGI rendition of NEVERMORE : Its reddish hue dominates the frame, as if it was generating its own heat.

The camera hovers above the tumultuous atmosphere of NEVERMORE, revealing a desolate surface below.

This world appears to be engulfed in a perpetual storm, with violent winds and extreme weather patterns.

EA's voice booms over the scene, recounting the dire situation faced by NEVERMORE.

EA (voiceover) :

TWO BILLION YEARS AGO, THE TENTH CELESTIAL BODY IN OUR GALAXY, NEVERMORE, FACED A GRAVE THREAT. THEIR DWINDLING ATMOSPHERE THREATENED IMMINENT DESTRUCTION. THE SOLUTION WAS NOT EASY. THEIR OPTIONS WERE ; GATHER COPIOUS AMOUNTS OF GOLD AND PULVERIZE IT INTO A WHITE POWDER OF MONOATOMIC GOLD TO BE SPRAYED INTO THE SKY AS A SHIELD, OR IGNITE THEIR DORMANT VOLCANOES WITH NUCLEAR MISSILES WITH THE EXPECTATION OF CREATING A STRONGER ATMOSPHERE. ALAS, NEVERMORE LACKED THE NECESSARY GOLD, AND THE USE OF NUCLEAR WEAPONS WAS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN.

The camera pans down to the barren landscape of NEVERMORE, a haunting silence replacing EA's voice.

Cut to INT. ROYAL COURT - DAY (reddish hue)

Scene 2

Cut to a wide shot of The Royal Court where the king stands at the center of the room, his eyes scanning the crowd with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. The tension grows as we focus on the disturbed faces in the crowd.

EA (voiceover) :

IN THE ROYAL COURT, SAVANTS WERE COMING AND GOING; COUNSELORS WERE RUSHING IN AND OUT. THE KING TO THEIR WORDS PAID NO ATTENTION.

The camera focuses back on the king as he slightly nods. He is keenly aware of the doubts and suspicions that surround him. This is evident in the icy glares and whispers that follow his every move.

Scene 3

EA (voiceover) :

THE CURRENT KING OF NEVERMORE WAS NOT WELL ACCEPTED BY THOSE IN THE ROYAL PALACE AS HEIR WITH NO BLOODLINE TO THE ORIGINAL KING M.AN.

Camera cuts to a tale of the tape style description every time a new character is introduced.

EA (voiceover) :

THE EIGHTH KING, LAH-MENT, 30, MEANING "DRYNESS" WAS THE ADOPTED SON OF DU.URU AND DA.URU.

PALE WHITE SKIN, STRAIGHT RED HAIR AND GREEN EYES. 6' 6 330. A RED BULL LOGO.

Cut to INT. ROYAL CHAMBERS - DAY

SCENE 4

The camera focuses on LAHMENT, the king of Nevermore, sitting in his private chambers with his spouse LAH.A.MA. His expression is troubled, and he seems lost in thought. LAH.A.MA, sensing her husband's distress, gently touches his hand and speaks words of comfort.

LAH.A.MA (COCKNEY ENGLISH accent) :

MY LOVE, IF IT IS OUR DESTINY TO RULE THIS LAND, THEN LET US SEEK GUIDANCE FROM THE GREAT CREATOR OF ALL. LET US NOT ACT RASHLY, FOR IT IS THROUGH BESEECHING AND NOT ACTING THAT WE CAN FIND HOPE.

The camera pans to LAHMENT, his face now thoughtful and contemplative. He nods slowly, realizing the wisdom in LAH.A.MA's words.

Cut to INT. ROYAL COURT - DAY(reddish hue)

Scene 5

The camera follows LAHMENT'S full figure from behind. He stands in front of the crowd, speaks and walks right back to the Royal Chambers.

LAHMENT (COCKNEY ENGLISH accent)(smug): LET THE WILL OF THE CREATOR OF ALL, BE WELCOMED!

EA (voiceover) :

SO LAHMENT, THE KING OF NEVERMORE, DECIDED TO DO NOTHING.

Scene 6

The camera cuts to the next day in the royal court, where the tension has reached a boiling point. Close-up shots of the Princes as they speak.

EA (voiceover) :

IN THE ROYAL COURT THE PRINCES WERE ASTIR; AT THE KING ACCUSATIONS WERE DIRECTED: FOOLISHLY UNREASONING, GREATER CALAMITIES INSTEAD OF CURE HE BROUGHT FORTH!

M.ANU:
WE CANNOT SIMPLY SIT BY AND DO NOTHING WHILE OUR PEOPLE SUFFER!

PRINCE 2 (AFRICAN accent): WE MUST TAKE ACTION, YOUR MAJESTY! WE CANNOT AFFORD TO BE IDLE ANY LONGER!

Lahment remains silent, his eyes fixed on the ground.

PRINCE 3 (ENGLISH accent) (shouting): YOUR INACTION IS A GREATER THREAT TO OUR WORLD THAN ANY EXTERNAL FORCE! YOU ARE FAILING US, YOUR HIGHNESS!

The camera zooms in on Lahment's face, his expression unchanged. He stands up and with a sense of righteousness, turns and starts to walk away.

Scene 7

Cut to a close-up of LALUZ's face as he stands.

LALUZ (angrily):
ENOUGH! YOUR INCOMPETENCE HAS SURPASSED ALL LIMITS. I CHALLENGE YOU TO A DUEL FOR THE THRONE!

With unwavering conviction, LALUZ rose to his feet and thundered his challenge to the monarch. Mostly tight close ups.

EA (voiceover) :

LALUZ, 7’2” 300. A MUSCULAR UNARMED 55 YR OLD DARK SKIN MAN WITH GREEN SNAKE EYES, LONG BRAIDED BLACK HAIR AND BRAIDED BEARD, DRESSED IN A RED SUPER SUIT, A RED TIGER EMBLEM ON HIS CHEST WITH A RED CAPE, WALKS TOWARDS THE KING. 

Scene 8

The King starts to run. LALUZ furiously starts chasing King LAHMENT. We never see LALUZ full body. Cut to a tight close-up of King LAHMENT'S terrified face as he runs up the crystal staircase, his feet pounding against the steps. The camera cuts to a close-up of his hand as he turns the doorknob and rushes into the Royal Office, slamming the door shut behind him.

The camera cuts to LALUZ and focuses on his foot, as he kicks the door open, then his face contorted with rage. Cut to LAHMENT as he runs to the crystal balcony and stands by the edge, the camera showing a tight shot of his shaking hands waving in the air.

Cut to the exterior of Royal Court down below, where all have gathered, frozen in disbelief as they watch the unfolding scene above them.

Scene 9

Cut back to a tight shot of LALUZ walking towards LAHMENT, his voice dripping with contempt.

LALUZ:
I ONLY WANT WHAT’S BEST FOR NEVERMORE.

LAHMENT (COCKNEY ENGLISH accent)(having a panic attack): AY, AY, I NEVER ASKED FOR THIS ! (pauses, takes a deep breath, looks at LALUZ and yells) I DON’T WANT TO BE KING !

LALUZ (opens his arms): THEN FACE ME ! !

LAHMENT (COCKNEY ENGLISH accent): STOP… DON’T COME CLOSER ! (takes a big step back and trips over the balcony)

LAHMENT falls to his death. LAHMENT lands in the center of The Royal Court with a broken neck ... .The camera shows a wide shot then a close-up of his face with his eyes open then pans up in a low angle shot towards the balcony at LALUZ as he yells.

LALUZ:
COWARD ! ! (echoes)

Scene 10

Cut to a close-up of LALUZ.

LALUZ (shouting): LAHMENT IS NO MORE!  

LALUZ (gleefully): THAT KING IS NO MORE!

We see LALUZ come to the realization that he is the new king.
