A Night at the Pleasurewood Hills...

SCRIPT:

{phone rings}

Summer :
hello? May i know who is on the other end?

Lauren:
hello Summer! Its me Lauren. We are on a tri-call with Emma on the third end.

Emma :
hi guys! Its a shame our parents won’t be with us this summer… it’s going to be sooooo boring.

Summer :
well, not unless we all meet and plan something together.

Lauren:
I don’t know… where can we go exactly? Theme parks could be fun, but we’ve visited all of them.

Emma :
Let me ask the boys…

(after a while)

Julian :
hey ! even I like the idea of a theme park. But which one?

Jack:
guys I have an idea we can visit the new theme park pleasurewood hills which has recently opened in Britain.

Summer:
so, we'll meet tomorrow at the coffee shop which is just around the corner of oak Street.

Lauren:
is 11 a.m alright for everybody ?

Everyone:
yes!

( Birds chirping)

Julian:
a wonderful morning!

( phone ring)

Jack:
Julian come on we have to go ! The girls are already there!

Emma:
Did everybody get their bikes? Yes? then what are we waiting for let's go!

( motorbike noise)

Jack:
a few hours later…

Summer :
Oh yes!jack! we finally reached Pleasurewood Hills!

Jack:
I am so excited to have fun there.

Lauren:
guys this is weird… why does pleasurewood Hills look so isolated? it appears as if no one has used it since ages.

Julian:
oh no! don't tell me we traveled such a long way just to see this Barren place!

Emma:
this freaks me out... let's ask that old man sitting right over the Gate.

Jack:
doesn't it seem odd that the old man who is so smartly dressed and looks quite well off Is guarding this weird place?

whatever... let's go and ask him about this place and what ever took happened in it.

( sound of footsteps)

Summer:
I'm scared. I think I'd rather stay behind.

Lauren:
ok fine. ( after a while) excuse me Sir… we just wanted to know whether this Park is open or not? and also that what happened to it?

Old man (who is actually summer): don't you know kids… of the strange happenings in this Park? everyday there is a kid who is abducted and later on… Murdered... the park is therefore closed for everyone unless declared safe grounds.

Julian:
um.. so is the mystery solved yet?

Old man:
( laughs gruffly ) kid, This is a big Crime Scene and also a mystery... do you really think that the culprit would be caught so fast?

Jack:
we can help you sir. We happen to be expert detectives and your case will be solved before you can even say “a-b-d-u-c-t-i-o-n”.

Old man:
( Laughs again) I like your spirit kid, but it is very dangerous for you to go out there and risk your life. I cannot let you be the lamb to the slaughter.

Emma:
ok fine.we will not but we really need to leave right now. we are really scared.

( footsteps again)

Lauren:
that was weird... but, are we really not gonna investigate?

Julian:
of course we will! didn't you understand? she just said that so the old man doesn't keep an eye out for us.

Lauren :
Now I understand… really this time!!

Summer:
At 1 A.M

Jack:
Geez! this place really looks creepy at night! I just hope that I don't chicken out…

summer:
yep, same problem with me

Julian:
this is it! this is our only chance to solve the mystery of pleasure wood Hills.

Lauren:
hey look! I can see a gap over there in the wall. maybe we all can fit through that.

( footsteps and scrambling noises)

Emma:
let's start with the the carousal since the blood trails on the ground lead there.

( sound of feet shuffling)

Jack:
I am sure it must have rained before the last Murder. that is because I can notice faint footprints in the slush beneath the Merry Go Round.

Summer:
good observation Jack. I'm sure You will become good detective one day.

Julian:
and as I observe further, the footprints lead to that ticket counter behind The go karting station.

Lauren:
this murderer guy is sure up to something not good…of course... Julian, Jack, You both go and follow the blood trail which continues right after the carousal. Whilst, Emma, Summer and I will go and follow the footprint trail which is behind the go karting station.

Emma:
if any of us finds something which the others should know,We should hoot like a realistic owl.

Jack:
why ever in the world an owl?

Emma:
it’s the easiest animal noise to imitate.Animal noises are mandatory because if the killer is on the loose in the park ground right now,And hears the human voices, we are no better than dead.

Summer:
ok enough talk. let's split now.

( mysterious music in the background)

( drum beats like the heart beats)

Lauren:
from the boys point of view

( sound of feet crunching under dry leaves)

Julian:
Jack, are you scared? because if you are not then I still have no shame in coming out to clear that I am very scared.

Jack:
Julian, it's natural to be scared. and of course in conditions like this, it's obvious.

Julian:
hey look! the blood trails end right in front of the tree. but the tree is really barren. I don't believe he is on that. A serial killer Such as this one must have a better hideout.

(Extravagant hooting)

Jack:
hey the girls must have found something!

Julian:
then let's Rush!!!

( scrambling footsteps)

Summer:
check this out! the footsteps lead to this really leaf strewn area .

Emma:
cool! I'm sure there is some hidden trapdoor beneath the leaves. We just need to find out a way to blow away those leaves.

Lauren:
well we don't have a leaf blower right now, so I think our hands will have to make do.

( scratching noises)

Summer:
I think I hit something hard with my knuckles. let me look at it closely.

Jack:
emma, you are right. there is a trap door. but I will need help to open it.

Emma:
Wait … You mean that we actually have to go inside the Trap door? I never thought of that?! I mean I don't even want to think about that. you know I am scared I can't do this.

Julian:
emma I know your scared. even I am scared. but if we never face our fears, we will never be able to conquer them.

Lauren:
that's right Julian… no need to panic, but I believe that we will actually come face to face with the killer at the end of this Spooky pathway…

Emma:
Lauren!!!

Lauren:
just kidding.

( scrambling)

(Footsteps)

( huffing and puffing)

Summer:
I am really tired… this underground tunnel seems to have no end. Unless…

Jack:
we have been running around in circles!!??

Julian:
ummm… Guys I don't think This might be helpful, but there is little cabin on the raised platforms above us.

Emma:
And may I ask since when have you known that?

Julian:
I guess since the time we landed in this tunnel. Why?

Lauren:
oh! no absolutely nothing. just that maybe The Killer was right above us the whole time and we didn't even know about that. minor problem, isn't it Julian?

Julian:
uh-oh

Summer:
is there any chance that “he” might not have heard us?

Jack:
maybe but we really need to get up there. How?

Emma:
We can make a human step chain. it's sort of a pyramid, but with only one person at each level. so our chain will consist of a 4 people pyramid and the fifth person will climb upon each of our Shoulders and get on the platform. then he or she can easily accommodate to pull the rest of us.

Lauren:
that's a brilliant idea! let's get working on it instantly.

( scrambling and shuffling)

Summer:
Julian, since it was you who noticed the cabin, it's only fair that you get to climb it first.

Julian:
why did I tell you about the wretched old Thing in the first place? OK I will do it. everybody, Please be steady and don't make me fall.

everyone except Julian: fine!

( scrambling)

Emma:
ouch! Julian, You stepped on my hair!

Julian:
sorry! I can't help it.

Jack:
Julian make it fast. I really can't hold it any longer.

Lauren:
Ok Julian. Now pull us all up.

( scrambling and shuffling)

Summer:
wow! this cabin looks really neat from the inside! and now we need to mess it up to investigate. Lauren and emma, both of you go and investigate the files right over that table. Jack and Julian, both of you will have to search for fingerprints or footsteps even any of the weapons or tools which the murderer could have used. until then, I will keep A look out and other things which could be helpful outside this cabin.

Emma:
Lauren, did you notice that half of these files are actually newspaper and magazine cuttings !

Lauren:
yes I observed that. we need to scan all of these documents and figure out what was exactly the kind of news he was collecting .But besides that, there are also other property documents of pleasurewood Hills. I wonder what all that is about.

( paper shuffling)

Jack:
whoa! This guy is serious about those killings. just have a look at his weapons! Snipers, rifles, nooses, knives, and poisoned darts.

Julian:
And look at his cupboard. There is this photo map of all the places and the people this killer has murdered. Let's take a piece of paper and note down everything that we find out just to keep track.

Jack:
yeah that's right.

( scribbling)

Emma:
hey Lauren, check this out. all the document files, accept the newspaper and magazine cuttings, contain information about the property of pleasurewood, its propertier and all the property documents.

Lauren:
and look, newspaper cuttings read:

“ Nelson Krossover fired from the position of treasurer after endangering life of 46 people on the Wipeout roller-coaster by threatening a fellow staff to increase the speed beyond the safety limit.”

“ police officers find Nelson Krossover missing”

“strange mishaps taking place at l pleasurewood Hills.Children are getting abducted with no ransom note for money left. the children who disappear are never seen again.”

Emma:
Hey, do you think this is not actually the hideout of the murderer, instead just a simple cabin where important documents are stored ?

Julian:
please don't tell me that we came here on a wild Goose chase hunting for some Criminal who never even existed…

Jack:
even I think so…. all the weapons up here could even be the safety weapons which the park authorities keep For safety.

(Muffled scream from outside)

Lauren:
oh no I think something happened to summer! let's go and check.

( footsteps)

Summer:
guys where the hell are you going?! I saw someone entering this tunnel. I got so scared that I was almost about To scream, but luckily, I managed to stiffle it. but we really need to hide somewhere because that man was making a bee line for this cabin!

Emma:
we really need to think… how about behind that desk? that even doesn't look like a desk. It is more of a cupboard, a small one.

Julian:
ok. anything to be alive.

Jack:
I can hear footsteps! we need to make it quick!!

( sound of footsteps and scrambling noises)

Murderer (Who is summer): Oh yeah I finally managed to scare of those kids.Now I am really close to getting that property to myself.

Lauren:
( whispering) we are not on a wild Goose chase. instead I believe that we're really close to catching the crook.

Emma:
( whispering) Lauren! can you just keep quiet for a moment. if he hear that then we're dead!

Murderer:
h i g capital… enough of humiliation for me. now it's your turn. You will know how it feels when there are a dozen of reporters around you asking you also the stupid question, “ sir, what is going on in pleasure woodhills?”, “So do you like to say that pleasurewood is no longer safe for us? who is behind this Murder? the abduction?” And I will get my hands on your property. not only that, I will also get my revenge.

Julian:
sheesh! This is bad. so you mean that Nelson Krossover,who was fired from the Association, is actually the killer?

Jack:
appears so…

Summer:
what do we do now?

Lauren:
the only thing we can. Hide.

Emma:
and if he sees us?

Lauren:
the only thing we can. run. as fast as we can. of course, not die.

Julian:
wait. that is one of the other things we can do. just wait till he goes in then we'll make a run for it.

Jack:
I obviously like his plan more.

Murderer:
ah! I wish to take a walk around my future land.

Summer:
yes! he's finally leaving.

Emma:
guys I have a bad news. we have to make the human change again for getting down. and beware, If this is really the guy who did those killing, then remember he is very dangerous. if he sees us, the outcome can be really bad.

Lauren:
human chain again?! not that torture on my shoulders again!

Emma:
well talk about my hair! we have to do it. there is no other way out.

Julian:
please let it be Jack who climbs it again.

summer:
come on… this time it has to be a chain to climb down. so that means that the person on the top will climb down the ladder. after that the person who is now on the top will climb with next. and so on.

Lauren:
oh God! let the killer, or rather, Nelson Krossover not see us at all.Let's make this fast.( in a whisper) and let it not hurt at all.

Emma:
Lauren! I heard that. You really have to stop being a pessimist.

Lauren:
ok fine!

( scrambling )

Jack:
yes we finally down. now, we should follow the Fresh Foot print trail Which Nelson had left while he went to take a round of his supposedly futureland.

summer:
do not tell me that we have to follow this wretched trail again? may god be with us.

Lauren:
summer, why are you asking God to make such an effort. tell him to wait; we will be with him in a moment.

all others except Lauren: Lauren stop it!!!

Lauren:
ok fine, Relax.

( sound of leaves crunching Under feet )

(Sound of door creaking open)

Julian:
no! He is back!He is back! hide, Run, Duck!

Emma:
Julian quite down for a moment! it's not him. it was just the wind.

Julian:
oh sorry!

( footsteps)

Summer:
we know the killer, we should instantly get out of the spark and report the police.Then we can help them track him and the parkin finally be declared safe Grounds and will be open for everybody.

Jack:
it is not as easy as it sounds summer. Nelson could be anywhere in the park right now and in the dark without a Flashlight, we can really be in trouble.

Lauren:
Wait... where is a Flashlight again? I remember clearly that I took few strong Flashlights for us to investigate. don't tell me Jack that you dropped them…

Jack:
umm… I think I forgot it somewhere while investigating.

Emma:
OK then we have to look for a plan B. anyone?

Julian:
there is no other way. we have to get out right now even if there is a chance of the killer catching us. because if we wait, who knows we might not even be able to come out alive. it is risky but it’s our only option.

Summer:
everybody, we have to walk quietly and should avoid talking once we are outside this trap door.

Lauren:
and walk in a line so that supposing we spot the killer we will be able to duck inside quickly.

Jack:
blah blah blah. come on let's get moving.

Emma:
this is not a joke Jack. it's matter of our life.

Jack:
yeah right.

Julian:
it would be fun if we were not investigating and just having fun here at this abandoned Park. it's a shame that we cannot enjoy this Mysterious silence.

( Sound of crunching footsteps)

Summer:
we need to hurry, The Killer might be on our trail. whatever we decide to do, must be done very quickly.

Lauren:
guys, do you remember how we entered? it was through a small gap in the wall. we can retrace our steps and go back to the same place and escape! then on the way we can also tip off the police.

Julian:
great idea! come on let's go.

( Footsteps)( sound extends till 5 to 6 seconds)

Jack:
we are nearly there.I cross my fingers not to run into Nelson.

Emma:
don't be so negative Jack. we came all the way from the Trap door without even hearing a sound of Nelson, so how do you expect we run into him right now?

Lauren:
umm… there is something on the tree. look like a huge monkey, I can't see it but I am just guessing from the silhouette. just look at the way it's sitting on the tree.

Julian:
Jack, isn't this the same tree where the footsteps ended?

Summer:
don't tell me that is Nelson!?

Emma:
it could be! but I don't think he saw. because it appears that his back is towards our side.

Lauren:
then we must really keep it quiet. so that he doesn't realise that we are here.

( scrambling and huffing and puffing)

jack:
yes!! we are finally out of pleasurewood!! Yeah!

Julian:
nextstep, we find the police and tip them off.

(Sound of running)

Summer:
Hey look, there is a local police station right down that corner.

Emma:
let's make it fast towards it.

( footsteps again)

( knocking sound)

( door opening)

Lauren:
hello?is there anyone in?

Jack:
why isn't anybody answering?

Julian:
I guess there is nobody here. but then who opened the door?

Summer:
let's check behind the door.

(sound of door)

Emma:
oh no!Guys Run! It Nelson!

police officer (JACK) : ( laughs) no children, it's not Nelson. I am his brother, Edward.

Julian:
sir, your brother Nelson has been vandalising the pleasurewood hills theme park. he is the one who is Behind Those murders and abduction. he is doing this because he wants Revenge from the h i g capital for firing him.

Edward:
I look into the matter myself with my fellow officer. you children need to get out of this area because if Nelson has seen you, he won't leave your Alive. I've been with him and I know his temper. get out of here quick.

Lauren:
ok sir. thank you for your help! and ask for now, we will get out of here for the sake of it.

Edward:
yes. that will be good.

( feet crunching on leaves)

Summer:
that was one adventure with you guys I will never forget.

I can't forget actually. Risking our lives, Catching a crook and finally solving the case.

Emma:
let's just go home now,Want to get over this.

( sound of motorbikes)

Julian:
few days later...

( phone ringing)

Summer:
hello?

Edward:
this is Edward, the police officer. we finally got Nelson on a tree. the President wants to meet you personally and award you for your bravery.

summer:
what!? are you serious? the president wants to meet us! that's amazing! unbelievable! just hang on a second I need to tell my friends.

Edward:
no no no no no! please don't tell anyone else, it supposed to be a secret.

Summer:
no I am just telling my friends who are with me, who solved the case.

Edward:
ok, yeah you can tell them. I'll wait.

summer:
Lauren, Emma, Jack, Julian! come here quick!!

Lauren:
what's the matter?

summer:
I just got a call from Edward and he says the president wants to meet us because of our bravery and wants to reward us!!

Emma:
that's great! when and where do we have to go?

summer:
I'll ask that.

Hello? yeah Edward, when and where do we have to come to receive the reward and meet the president?

Edward:
we will send a car tomorrow at 3 p.m sharp and that driver will take you to our destination. please do not make other plans for tomorrow because the president will be extremely annoyed if you do not show up.

summer:
we sure will.

Julian:
this is the best day of my life… no the second best. the best is about to come….. Tomorrow.
