BADER:
(offscreen)Okay, go ahead and start singing.

Caleb begins to sing Tik Tok by Ke$ha, but as he leans back onto the bed, he accidentally hits his head on the ceiling fan.

CALEB:
(pained)Ow! That wasn’t part of the plan.

BADER:
(offscreen)Are you okay?

CALEB:
(whimpering)Yeah, I’m fine. Let’s try it again.

Bader hands him a pair of Bader’s underwear.

BADER:
(grinning)Put these underwear on your head, and now do it again.

Caleb hesitates for a moment but puts the underwear on his head and starts singing again. This time, he moves carefully, not wanting to make any mistakes.

CALEB:
remember when I broke my arm I didn’t go so well (Caleb sat on the thumbtack) (screams)

The two friends high-five, happy with their day’s work.

BADER:
sorry that you had to sit on a thumbtack

CALEB:
it’s cool

Bader and Slim Z were playing video games in Bader’s room. Slim Z was getting frustrated because he was losing, and Bader was laughing at him.

Slim Z:
“This game is rigged! You’re cheating, Bader!”

Bader:
“I’m not cheating, Slim! You just need to get better at this game.”

Slim Z:
“I am good at this game! You’re the one who sucks!”

Bader:
“Ha, sure. Keep telling yourself that, Slim.”

Slim Z got angry and threw the controller across the room.

Bader:
“Hey! What the heck, Slim?! That was my controller!”

Slim Z:
“I don’t care! You’re always making fun of me and laughing at me! I’m sick of it!”

Bader:
“What are you talking about? I wasn’t even laughing that hard!”

Slim Z:
“Yes, you were! You always think you’re better than me at everything!”

Bader:
“That’s not true! I never said that!”

Slim Z:
“You don’t have to say it! You act like it all the time!”

The two brothers continued to argue and things escalated quickly. Before they knew it, they were pushing and shoving each other.

Annie Baltic walked into the room, sensing that something was wrong.

Annie:
“What’s going on here? Are you guys fighting?”

Bader:
“He started it! He threw my controller and then pushed me!”

Slim Z:
“No way, he’s lying! He was making fun of me and I got mad!”

Annie:
“Okay, okay, calm down. Let’s take a break and talk about this later. You guys need to learn to get along and respect each other as brothers.”

The scene ends with the boys still angry, but realizing they need to work on their relationship to avoid more fights in the future.

At lunchtime, Tashi and Bader were sitting down at the school cafeteria. Tashi saw an empty seat next to him, and she thought of moving to it.

As she started getting up, Bader noticed her and darted towards the seat.

Bader:
“Hey! I saw that seat first!”

Tashi:
“No, you didn’t. I was already getting up to move there.”

Bader:
“It doesn’t matter! I want to sit there now!”

Tashi:
“But why? There are other empty seats.”

Bader:
“I don’t want to sit at those seats. I want that one!”

Tashi:
“Fine, you can have it. I’ll just sit somewhere else.”

Bader sits down at the seat with a smirk on his face. Tashi glances back at him, fuming with anger.

Tashi:
“Don’t make me beat you up again, Bader. I’ll take that seat if I want to.”

Bader:
“Ha, you think you can beat me? I highly doubt that.”

Tashi stands up and faces Bader, looking intimidating.

Tashi:
“Let’s settle this outside, then. If you’re brave enough to stand up to me, that is.”

Bader:
“Fine. Let’s go.”

They storm out of the cafeteria, drawing the attention of other students. But before they could even reach outside, a teacher intervenes and stops them.

Teacher:
“Hey, what’s going on here? Why are you two fighting?”

Tashi:
“He took my seat and I won’t let him!”

Teacher:
“That’s not a good reason to fight, Tashi. You know better than that.”

Bader:
“Yeah, and she threatened to beat me up again!”

Teacher:
“Okay, that’s enough. I’m taking both of you to my office. We need to have a talk.”

The two kids sigh in frustration, realizing that their fight over a seat wasn’t worth the trouble they were getting themselves into.

The scene ends with the teacher taking Tashi and Bader to her office to discuss their behavior and what they can do to resolve conflicts in a more positive way.

Scott was always passionate about keeping up with the latest news and events. He was intelligent but was never one of the popular kids at school. With his love for the news and the lack of other hobbies, he decided to create his own news show.

He got his hands on an old camera and borrowed a tripod from his dad. Scott started to film himself with the camera, reporting news stories to the camera.

Scott:
“Welcome to Scott News, the only news show that keeps you informed on what’s happening in our community. Today, we’ll be discussing the latest school events.”

Scott then went on talking about the latest school events and what was going on, such as the recent sports clubs that have opened up or the school’s upcoming fundraisers. The production quality was poor, but it didn’t matter to Scott. He was having so much fun reporting the news!

Soon, word got out about Scott’s news show. Some of his fellow classmates had seen it and started to tease him about it.

Scott felt defeated, but he didn’t want to stop. He loved his new hobby too much.

The next day, Scott continued to work on his news show. He went out and interviewed students and faculty about topics that he thought were important.

Scott:
“Today, we’re going to talk about the latest student council election.”

He then interviewed the two candidates who were running for president and aired it on his news show.

As he was editing footage from his show, Annie walked in on him.

Annie:
“Hey, Scott. What are you up to?”

Scott:
“Just working on my news show.”

Annie:
“That’s cool! I saw it the other day and thought it was really creative. Keep up the good work.”

Scott was overjoyed, and continued to work on Scott News, no longer listening to those who teased him. As time passed, his news show went from being something silly to something that his classmates looked forward to watching.

The scene ends with Scott feeling more confident and happier than ever before, knowing that he was finally pursuing something that he was truly passionate about.

Bader and Everleigh walked into Scott’s room while he was working on his news show.

Bader:
“What are you working on, Scott?”

Scott:
“Oh, just my news show. I’m doing a segment on the upcoming science fair.”

Everleigh chuckled.

Everleigh:
“You have a news show? That’s so funny, Scott.”

Bader sneered.

Bader:
“Seriously? You should stop making that pathetic news show and do something cooler, like the rest of us.”

Scott looked down, feeling embarrassed and disappointed. He thought he had finally found something he was good at and enjoyed doing.

Scott:
“Well, I like doing it. It’s fun for me.”

Bader rolled his eyes.

Bader:
“Of course, you think it’s fun. But it’s lame, Scott. No one wants to hear your amateur reporting anyways.”

Scott was hurt by the remark, but he didn’t let it affect him for long. He went back to working on his news show, even more determined to make it better.
