Bader (age 9) is sitting on his bed, speaking in voiceover.
BADER:
(Voiceover) Out of all the girls that I liked, the girl I liked the most was Everleigh. She's cute and funny.[EXT. EVERLEIGH'S HOUSE - DAY]
Bader approaches Everleigh (age 10) outside her house.
BADER:
(Nervously) Hey, Everleigh, um... would you like to be my future wife?EVERLEIGH:
i’ll think about it[INT. BADER'S SCHOOL - HALLWAY - DAY]
Bader's best friend, Caleb Johnston (age 11), excitedly approaches him.
CALEB JOHNSTON:
(Laughs) Dude you are so in there!Caleb Johnston screams while running down the hallway.
CALEB JOHNSTON:
(Yelling) I NEED SPRAY SPRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY![EXT. EVERLEIGH'S HOUSE - DAY]
Bader approaches Everleigh (age 10) outside her house.
EVERLEIGH:
so I was thinking about it and yes I want to be your future wifeThey both hug.
BADER:
(Voiceover) Somebody get a camera and record it so she won't lie and say that it didn't happen.[INT. BADER'S LIVING ROOM - DAY]
Bader and Caleb Johnston are hanging out on the couch, chatting. Everleigh walks over to them.
BADER:
(Annoyed) Great, just great. Here comes Everleigh to mess things up again Why can’t you just leave me alone.CALEB JOHNSTON:
dude she’s got you running around like a Life-size Ken doll[Bader and Everleigh exchange frustrated glances.]
INT. ANNIE AND CALEB'S ROOM - DAY
Annie Baltic, a passionate and strong-willed babysitter in her early twenties, paces back and forth across the room. Caleb Reynolds, an easygoing and charming babysitter in his early twenties, leans against the wall with a worried expression. The tension is palpable.
ANNIE:
(angry and frustrated) Caleb, I can't believe you didn't tell me about this before. You were married? And you're not legally divorced?CALEB REYNOLDS:
(defensive) Annie, I'm sorry. I didn't think it was relevant. It was a mistake from my past, and I'm trying to resolve it.ANNIE:
(fuming) Not relevant? Caleb, we're supposed to trust each other. (Screaming) How am I supposed to trust you now?Caleb steps closer to Annie, trying to calm her down.
CALEB REYNOLDS:
(genuinely) Annie, I messed up, and I should have been honest with you from the beginning. I'm working on getting everything sorted, I promise.ANNIE:
(voice cracking) I can't believe I fell in love with someone who is still legally tied to someone else. How could you do this to me?CALEB REYNOLDS:
(regretful) Annie, I never meant to hurt you. I love you, and I'll do whatever it takes to make things right.Tears start streaming down Annie's face as she struggles to find words.
ANNIE:
(whispering) I need time, Caleb. Time to think and process everything. I don't know what this means for us.CALEB REYNOLDS:
(softly) I understand, Annie. Take all the time you need. I'll be here when you're ready.Annie collapses onto the bed, sobbing. Caleb sits next to her, pulling her into a comforting embrace.
CALEB REYNOLDS:
(reassuringly) We'll get through this, Annie. Together.As Annie continues to cry, Caleb holds her tightly, offering support and understanding in the midst of uncertainty.
FADE OUT.
[INT. EVERLEIGH'S HOUSE - LIVING ROOM - DAY]
Bader arrives at Everleigh's house, looking apologetic.
BADER:
(Sincerely) I'm sorry for being mad at you earlier. I should've invited you when Caleb and I were hanging out.EVERLEIGH:
(Angry) You think a simple apology will fix everything? I wanna break up with you.BADER:
(hurt) I thought we would still be together.EVERLEIGH:
(angry) Well, until I said that we're breaking up, we're breaking up. See ya, wouldn't wanna be ya.Everleigh slams the door shut, leaving Bader standing alone.
Bader looks sad, on the verge of tears.
BADER:
(Voiceover) Me neither.[FADE OUT]
