Buddy Hutchins Page #4

Synopsis: Buddy Hutchins is just a regular guy doing his best to support a wife and two kids. A recovering alcoholic, Buddy hasn't had a drink for the better part of a year, but it turns out the only reward for his good behavior is a failing business and a cheating wife. You don't know how I feel.

No.

But I know you won't get

arrested if you walk away now.

Get him out of here.

Copy that.

Come on. Let's go, pal.

Take him someplace to dry out.

Bye, honey.

Hello, ma'am.

Is there a Buddy Hutchins here?

Yes. He's my son.

Can I help you?

We've been trying to get

ahold of him for some time now.

You guys owe us 10 grand,

and we need the money.

Well, he's not in right now.

Well, in that case,

here's a warning.

Next time, I'm gonna

come in and take him.

Yes. Thank you.

One more thing.

We'll find him.

Goodbye.

The bondsman was here.

Did you pay him?

I don't have any money.

This is serious, Buddy.

Tell him I'm at space camp.

Buddy, we're gonna

have to pay these people

or they will come

and take you away.

That's all right.

It's not all right.

What do you want me to do?

Clean yourself up!

Get up!

You're not helping

your situation here.

I'm broke.

Your father has some

stuff down in the basement,

some old jewelry

and other things,

and maybe, maybe

it's worth something.

Yeah?

Buddy.

I'm trying!

I don't want you to end

up like your father!

Come here, mom.

I don't want you to end

up like him. Please!

Mom, mom.

I want you to be okay!

All right.

God!

Don't be scared, all right?

I'm gonna figure it out.

Mom, I'm gonna

figure it out, okay?

I don't want to make you upset.

I'll figure it out.

I'll figure it out, all right?

Okay.

I'll figure it out, okay?

Don't cry. I'll figure it out.

Mr. Hutchins, I'm sorry,

but you can't

take out a second loan.

I want to help you.

I do. I really do.

But...

There's nothing more

I can do for you.

Hello?

Bro.

Buddy?

Yeah, bro.

You're wasted.

No, I'm not.

Don't bullshit me.

I'm not bullshitting you, man.

All right.

I'm calling because

I need your help.

You know something, Buddy?

Things always come up

when you've been drinking.

No. I know.

Okay?

I know. I'm the f***-up.

You're the

perfect brother, okay?

Can you just f***ing

stop lecturing me, please?

Damn it, Buddy.

You are so drunk.

F***ing help me, man.

God, I forgot what a

f***ing a**hole you are.

What the f*** is wrong with you?

We're brothers!

Buddy, goddamn it.

I don't know why

I f***ing called you.

Buddy, listen.

Buddy?

Hey, bro. I've been looking

all over for you, man.

I don't have your money.

I'm staying at my mom's.

No wonder I couldn't find you.

I got to be honest with you.

What's up?

What a b*tch, bro.

I seem to attract them all.

Some friend?

Yeah, well...

You should kill him.

I mean, he f***ed

you over, right?

Nah, I just don't understand

why your brother won't

help you out, man.

I mean, the dude is super paid.

Let me tell you something

about human beings.

99.9% of all of them

are pieces of sh*t.

Tell me about it.

Listen. I'm sorry

about your money.

I'm gonna get things right.

I'm gonna pay you back.

I know you're good

for it, man. Honestly.

I know you're good for it.

I'm just upset

the way that everything kind

of went down, you know?

But listen.

I got your back, Buddy.

Well, thank you.

That's what friends are for.

Whatever you need.

Appreciate that.

Mom!

Hey. Well?

She had a heart attack.

And?

Well, we need to

run a few more tests

to see if there's any blockage.

Well, how long will that take?

To be honest, we're pretty

backed up here.

It might not be for

a couple of days.

A couple of days?!

And I should also tell you,

if there is any blockage,

we're not equipped here

to perform the

surgery she would need.

St. Mary's would

be a better place.

Well, can you take her there?

She doesn't have any insurance.

So? Can you do anything?

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry, mom.

I'm sorry.

I'm sorry.

Mom?

Hello?

Yeah, Billy. It's Buddy.

I need to speak to Troy.

My name is Bobby.

Get me Troy, please.

Troy is asleep right now, Buddy.

What can I do for you?

It's important.

Hold on.

Hey.

It's your brother.

What?

It's your brother.

My God.

Yeah?

Troy, mom's sick.

She's in the hospital.

What happened?

She had a heart attack.

Really?

Yeah.

They're gonna run a

bunch of tests on her

and see what happens,

but they can't do it here.

They got to take

her to St. Mary's.

Okay.

She doesn't have any insurance.

Well, let's just run

the tests in the morning,

see what happens.

She needs to go

to St. Mary's now.

I don't think so.

I think she's tough.

I think she'll make it.

She'll be fine. All right?

Come on. Come on,

man. Come on, man.

Come on, man.

What? It's the middle

of the night, Buddy.

Don't do this.

Don't do what?

Don't take out

your anger towards her

because she doesn't

approve of your lifestyle.

Buddy, this has nothing

to do with that, all right?

That's bullshit. Come on.

I got to get up early

tomorrow, all right?

Good night. Bye.

Troy

f***.

- Excuse me.

- Yeah?

Are you with Mrs. Hutchins?

I am.

This is for you.

What is this?

It's the bill.

For what?

Jesus Christ.

Her condition is worsening.

- She needs to rest right now.

- I need to see her.

- This is not... right now.

- Move!

- Sir, this is not

- security!

Mom. Mom.

Mom, wake up.

Mom, where's dad?

Did dad kill his brother?

Did he kill his brother?

I didn't think you'd

ever see that.

Mom.

Did he do it?

He had his dark side.

No, mom.

Mom.

Mom, you okay?

I'm not well.

Mom.

- Mom!

- I'm sorry.

Mom!

I need you tell me where he is.

- Buddy!

- Mom, tell me, please.

I need to know.

- Should...

- Mom, tell me.

Not like this.

Mom, tell me please!

I need to know.

He's on his brother's...

What?

Mom.

Mom!

Help!

Mom!

Dad.

Who's that?

It's me.

Sh*t.

How did you find me?

Mom told me.

Right before she died.

Are you alone?

Yes.

Nice place.

Look at you.

You're like a crazy

old piece of sh*t.

What'd you come here for, Bud?

You left me.

Yeah.

I'm sorry about that.

Yeah?

You don't give a sh*t.

I know.

Guess what else.

I found a little

bit of information

I think you might

find interesting.

Yeah?

What would that be,

Buddy? What would that be?

Tell me something.

How'd your brother die?

Where you going with this, Bud?

Where's this taking us?

The truth.

Did you kill him?

I think...

I think it's time you left, Bud.

Right now.

What are you gonna do?

You gonna shoot me?

Did you kill him?

I had to.

You son of a b*tch!

Sh*t!

Sh*t.

Christ.

F***.

Holy sh*t.

She was a whore.

What?

She was whore.

And I'm not your father.

What?

That's what I was

trying to tell you.

She was, she was just a slut.

So, you killed him?

My brother, my brother

was your father.

When I found out...

I killed him.

I'm sorry.

I just ran.

And here I am.

I'm so sorry.

I'll tell you one thing.

If I...

If I had the chance all over...

If I could do it all over,

I'd do it all again.

I wouldn't change.

I wouldn't change a damn thing.

Not one... not one f***ing...

F***ing b*tch thinks I won't go.

I'll f***ing go.

I don't have a wallet.

I don't have any money.
