- We're afraid it might be your sister.

- Are you sure?

- You'll have to identify the body.

- Do I have to come now?

- "No, tomorrow morning would be better..."

"Unfortunately it's a holiday."

Yes.

Of course, I know.

Yes, that's her.

Hold on a moment.

Please sign this.

- Where did she hide it?

- In a hut by the beach.

- Do you believe in fate?

- No, it's just a game, I find it amusing.

I wasn't talking about cards,

I was thinking about that day...

The accident.

I only tried for fun...

On that very day...

And, as though fate had

ordained it, he got in with us.

What do the cards say Lubka?

So far so good.

It's incredible,

the Sun card has just come out...

The truth chases ghosts and

false visions away.

Read the last page again.

"If anything should happen to me..."

"I want you to know something

very important..."

"I was forced to work for the

criminal gangs in the north."

- There's a list of names.

- No, read the previous page.

"There are some things I find

impossible to forget..."

"We are dead amongst the dead.

Perhaps it really was my fault..."

"It was her first time,

I shouldn't have given it to her..."

"Now I look at her,

like that day behind the wheel..."

"It makes me mad every time

I look at her..."

"A corpse wrapped up in a shawl.

One day I'll shake her hand..."

"And from under her rotting flesh,

I'll put out her skeleton..."

"And that will end her crazy

monologue about good and evil..."

"I'm scared,

I don't feel safe any more..."

"The anxiety is growing,

I feel so cold..."

"I can't go on like this,

I have to do something..."

"But I'm tired and alone..."

"I long to rewind the clock,

but it's too late..."

Enough.

That's enough.

Put it back in the hut by

the beach...

Where Elizabeth had hidden it.

- I can stay if you like?

- No, do as I say.

I don't need anything.

I'll see you tomorrow.

"I'm not at home,

leave a message after the tone..."

"Hello beautiful, recognise me?

You're going to die like your sister."

Sorry, you're right,

there was no answer so I came in...

I was waiting for you.

Why did you come here?

I returned this.

What do you want from me?

I'd like to know why they

mauled my foot.

And they were clearly out to get you.

- Elizabeth.

- Yes, I know...

One wasn't enough.

Listen, what do you want?

I don't know you!

Elizabeth and I were friends.

I want to help you.

- Well turn around, I need to get dressed.

- Yes, sorry.

- Is this it?

- Yes.

Stay close to me.

It's not like we did much

more then...

We smoked,

passed the time together...

- I'm sorry, you can't go in.

- We're friends.

Yes, you're right,

but I have to go in, it's important.

I remember people used

to appreciate life a lot more...

Now, everything seems the same...

- Who is she?

- I don't know.

Flat...

It isn't boredom...

Let's have a ten minute break.

- Excuse me, I'm Elizabeth's sister.

- She shouldn't have done it...

I told her;

leave it...

But she had to do it her way.

- What did she do?

- She wanted to blackmail them...

I think there's a diary involved,

now it's all clear...

She thought she'd get away with it,

but those people are dangerous!

- What diary?

- Leave it...

- Get out of here!

- Stefania!

Wait.

- Have you seen Stefania?

- No, I haven't seen her.

- Everyone back to their places.

- Where were you hiding?

Hiding?

They wouldn't let me in!

- Did Elizabeth take drugs?

- Why? You never tried?

No!

Don't get upset.

You probably just missed your chance,

or you didn't have the courage.

What are you talking about?

Why does it take courage to ruin your life?

I bet you're full of courage!

- I got clean, but Elizabeth...

- Elizabeth?

- Leave it.

- I want to know.

- Did you love her?

- I liked her...

She suggested we go away

for a while.

Were you supplying her?

- Why did she do it?

- Calm down, and don't preach to me...

Go read a book and find out

for yourself...

You look like a bookworm.

- What do you know about me?

- Long live culture!

Life is hard for everyone...

And if you don't know how

to live in this world...

You might as well shoot yourself with

that gun you keep at the Cine Club.

Is this how you talked to your sister?

Leave my sister out of this.

Have you ever tried the

Dark Bar special?

- It's horrible.

- Have you seen Stefania?

Yes, she arrived half an hour ago.

- Wait.

- What's wrong?

It's none of my business,

but I noticed...

- Go on?

- When Stefania arrived...

She was wearing the same

raincoat Elizabeth had in her bag.

- Thanks, I'm going to look for her.

- You didn't hear that from me.

Excuse me.

She's out of it.

We have to go.

- Get out of here.

- Why? Are the cops here?

No, someone's in a bad way.

Stefania, what's wrong?

Say something.

They got me,

just like Elizabeth.

What happened to Elizabeth?

What happened to her?

The gangs in the north,

they're evil...

The raincoats are filled with drugs...

She wanted to get out.

She had a diary with names...

- They killed her.

- A diary! Where?

I don't know...

She never told me.

What do we do now?

They killed her.

No...

And to think that today was meant to

be the start of my glittering career.

Success?

What do you call success?

I wanted to be a star,

enjoy the nice things in life...

And all the applause.

And then...

I don't know.

And now,

I really don't know.

- I don't want to think about it.

- Did you know your sister?

I don't even know who I am anymore.

I've already been close to death...

My mother, my father,

but her suicide frightens me.

What kind of sh*t world do you live in?

We live.

I need to lie down.

Thanks.

- What are you doing?

- I'm looking at you from a different angle.

- Didn't you hear a noise?

- Listen, musician, answer me this...

Is it the sound that comes to the ear,

or the sound that goes to the ear?

Is it the movement that comes to the eye,

or the eye that goes to the movement?

You told me you quit taking drugs.

This is Zen, my dear.

Form a triangle, etcetera...

Please stop it, this isn't the time

to play the philosopher.

Don't worry, I've been through

a lot worse than this...

You can find Buddha in the

gearbox of a motorbike...

Or in the petals of a flower,

like you.

Don't be afraid.

I don't believe in these things.

I'm scared.

Relax, I'm here.

Now listen the sound with your eyes...

And watch the movements

with your ears.

Stay here,

and don't move.

I'll check it out.

I'll be right back.

There was no one there.

- Let's go, I'm scared.

- I don't think they'll be back.

I hope not.

- We should wait until tonight.

- Yes.

Okay.

Are you scared of me?

Me, scared?

- Why today?

- I don't know...

Perhaps to exorcise her death.

- But I...

- Quiet!

Hold me close.

- I'm fed up of waiting.

- The diary isn't at her place...

We have to wait for them to leave,

they'll lead us to it.

"Elizabeth, it's me.

I've been waiting for your call..."

"Why didn't you call?

It's all ready, I'm waiting."
