Ek: The Power of One Page #2

Synopsis: Mumbai-based Nandkumar Sharma is a high-priced hit-man. He is paid a princely 1.5 Crore Rupees to injure Anna Mhatre, so that the later can get enough 'sympathy' votes to get him elected as the next Chief Minister, but ends up killing him. On the run from the Police, he ends up assuming the guise of Hoshiyarpur's Puran Singh, who has been away from home for the last 18 years, and does succeed in fooling Puran's joint family. But his hopes for settling there appear to be in vain with the arrival of a CBI Team, led by Inspector Mahendra Kumar Rane - who is determined to expose and arrest Nandkumar at any and all costs.

gets down with our bag.

How does he look and

where does he stay.

I want all the information. Got it?.

I am looking all around, sir. Sir..

Sorry.

The train is leaving, sir.

- Then board the train first.

I am.

Hey. Sorry, sir.

Okay. So is the bag safe and sound?.

- Yes, sir.

But.. sir..

Someone took out the money, sir.

- What?.

How?.

Take it up.

Now see what..

Day after tomorrow at 10..30am..

..he'll be giving his speech there.

What's this nonsense?. Let it go.

And l..

..will be on the ninth

floor of that building.

I will be behind the building.

In the red ford.

But this time, hire the

car from some place else.

Yes.

'l will reach there one

minute after shooting.'

Ladies and gentlemen.

What has this government given us?.

We have..

What does the public..

- Change the government which

doesn't care about us.

Without Anna Mhatre, we the

people will never progress.

Anna Mhatre..

So this time it's just the sword.

Change the government.

Uncles and aunts, make a decision.

And stamp on the sword.

Anna Mhatre.

- Hail to you.

Anna Mhatre.

- Hail to you.

Anna Mhatre.

- Hail to you.

Anna Mhatre.

- Hail to you.

Anna Mhatre.

- Hail to you.

Anna Mhatre..

Anna Mhatre..

It's your love.

When you whistle, a hero is born.

And when you vote, a leader is born.

There are floods happening

in our city.

Terrorists come to plant

bombs in the trains.

But they don't go back alive.

What's obvious..

Papa! No!

Papa! Papa!

Papa! Uncle Joshi, look

what's happened to papa.

Cordon the building.

Cordon the building.

Singh, check if there

is anyone there.

Come on. Hurry up.

What happened?. What happened?.

Stop.

Police has surrounded you.

You have only two options.

Either surrender or die.

I will count till five.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Five.

Sorry.

Your luggage?.

- Got stolen.

This belongs to my grandpa.

By the way, where are you going?.

Where this train is going.

Hoshyarpur?.

I too am going there.

There's a small village Chambela.

By the way, is the wooden bridge

still there near the station?.

And that soldier's inn?.

I mean you must be frequently

visiting the place.

I am going there after many years.

Great. That's why there is

a connection between us.

I was eight years old

when I ran away..

..from a sweet village

of Punjab to Gujarat.

18 years.

18 years I stayed away

from my grandpa..

..my fields and dear ones.

So many of the dear ones must

have become strangers.

And strangers, dear ones.

But one thing is for sure.

Grandpa's anger will

still be the same.

I had gone to Mumbai for some work.

That's when I found

out that grandpa..

..is still waiting for

his Puran to return.

I had thought of making

a call to grandpa.

But I didn't have the courage

to speak to him.

That's why I sent a telegram.

Now.. you.. Just a moment.

This is me. Puran.

And this is Preet.

She's my father's very close

friend's daughter.

We had become orphans together

in an accident.

That's why grandpa brought

her to our house.

Man, I sometimes feel like adding..

..a few more engines to the train.

Then I'll reach the village in

three hours instead of thirteen.

Then I'll be with our fields..

..our people and grandpa.

You must be wondering

why I ran away. Right?.

Well.. the thing is, in my village..

Piping hot tea. Piping hot tea.

Piping hot tea. Piping hot tea.

Excuse me, which station is this?.

The railway station, sir.

What's the name of the station?.

Valsad Railway Station.

This is Platform No. 1.

The second one is there. There's

no place for the third one.

And I don't have a change for 50.

Hey! - Piping hot tea. - The

change?. Hey! - Piping hot tea.

This is the train. You go there.

He must be here somewhere.

Come on. Search. Move.

'Cold drink. Cold drink.'

Piping hot tea.

Oh, biscuit.

Move! Move! Move! Move!

Move! Move! Move!

Oh no. He's not the one.

Oh, God. Look for him.

He must be here somewhere. Hurry.

He's wearing a black colour jacket.

Sir. Sir. Sir, he escaped.

Brother Puran's train will

surely come from there.

Hey, I I'm telling you,

it'll take this route.

No. From this side.

- No, this way.

Quiet. I am the elder one.

Listen to me.

- Hurry up.

It'll come from this way.

- No, this route.

No, this route.

- No, I am telling you this route.

I said it's this route.

Puran..

- Brother Puran.

Brother Puran. Brother Puran.

- Listen.-Brother Puran.

Brother, my name is

'Laddu'.

That's because he eats

a lot of Laddu(sweets).

Quiet, Simi.

Brother, I am Prem.

Brother, do you remember me?.

Your younger sister, Nandini.

Surely you remember your aunt Jeet.

I am still just like you left

me. Perfectly in shape.

And I am your aunt Balbir.

I forgot to ward off the evil

eye when you were a child.

That's why someone jinxed you.

But I've done it now.

Brother Puran is so tall.

So, it'll be difficult for him

to bend and touch her feet.

Quiet.

Touch grandma and aunt

Gayatri's feet.

Bless you, son.

Puran, do you like watching films?.

You like watching movies.

Nandini.

Brother Puran, Preet.

Puran, she's looking so gorgeous.

Oh God, keep her safe.

Let brother Puran take a look.

Balbir, you did the right

thing by anointing her.

She's looking like an angel.

I completely forgot.

- What?.

Don't we have to go

into the kitchen?.

You can carry on. I'll come once l

finish telling my story to Puran.

Tell me the rest of the story.

Buttermilk.

Buttermilk.

Buttermilk.

That's just your luck.

Puran got married.

Let me take the charge.

Puran, you got married.

It's our Preet.

Naughty girl.

Age plays a key role

in a person's life.

You don't worry, you have a seat.

Tell me, how did you come here?.

What an adult question.

Biologically speaking, every man

comes from the same place.

Where?.

His logical sense is just wonderful.

I hope you have recognised us?.

How can he recognise us?.

We shifted in this house,

only after he left.

I hope he didn't say too much.

- No.

Actually, father always

keeps taunting us.

Saying that, I have

no more earnings..

..instead I've got live-in

son-in-laws.

So depressing, I tell you.

By the way, let me introduce myself.

I am your elder uncle,

Amrik Singh Nasa.

IBAS. That means, lndian

born American Scientist.

Stand up, son. Hurry up.

I am your elder uncle, by chance.

International lawyer of Hoshyarpur.

By the way, what's

my name these days?.

Legally, Parminder.

- Yeah. - Have a seat.

You look healthy.

Do you drink at night..

Puran. Let's go, we have to go

to the fields to meet father.

Why is father always in the fields?.

I don't understand.

I say, lets sell the fields

and build a shopping complex.

We will farm on the top floor..

..and there will be shops

on the rest of the floors.

And.. - Why do you always

talk about selling?.

You should be talking about buying.

Come, son.

One universal creator God.

The name is truth. Creative

being personified.

No fear. No hatred. Image of
