Ek: The Power of One Page #4

Synopsis: Mumbai-based Nandkumar Sharma is a high-priced hit-man. He is paid a princely 1.5 Crore Rupees to injure Anna Mhatre, so that the later can get enough 'sympathy' votes to get him elected as the next Chief Minister, but ends up killing him. On the run from the Police, he ends up assuming the guise of Hoshiyarpur's Puran Singh, who has been away from home for the last 18 years, and does succeed in fooling Puran's joint family. But his hopes for settling there appear to be in vain with the arrival of a CBI Team, led by Inspector Mahendra Kumar Rane - who is determined to expose and arrest Nandkumar at any and all costs.

the soil, spread in nature.

Spread in nature.

Let those forlorn desires soar.

The forlorn ones.

I feel like swaying.

He's good-looking. He's lovable.

Lost in the world of

Lost in it.

Why does my heart want to

forsake the entire world?.

Why does it?.

Let me touch the sky today.

He's good-looking. He's lovable.

38..

26..

38..

God, how can you be so heartless.

Yes, sir.

- Three-eight.

308, calibre. 26, barrel length.

0.38 travelling time of the bullet.

There are three problems.

Firstly, the bullet wasn't

shot from this gun.

Problem No. 2. If the bullet

was fired from here..

..the angle would have

been like this.

The bullet would have hit here,

and come out of here.

Mhatre was hit here, and the

bullet came out of here.

And problem No.3, how did the

police enter this building..

..right after the bullet was shot?.

How did they know, that the

shooter is in this building.

Sir, maybe by the sound

of the bullet.

There was a silencer on the gun.

- Sorry, sir.

And, Ravi. - The shooter jumped

from the roof and fled..

..to escape the police.

Are you sure he jumped from

here and escaped?. - Yes sir.

You take the stairs, and

I'll take this way.

No sir..

Anyone that can jump

from here and flee..

..must be made of rubber.

Fine, let's go.

Stop. Stop.

Look.

Puran..

- No.

Try to.. recognise?.

Foolish, I said so.

He has returned after 18 years,

how will he recognise you?.

Shut your mouth.

He'll surely recognise me.

After all, Puran's my

childhood friend.

Don't you remember?.

We would study together in

the school, in third grade.

Before that, we were together

in second grade.

Why don't we make a bet?.

If he recognises that you are Guru..

Then you'll give me Rs. 1000!

- Done.

Accepted.

- Done.

Puran, tell him who I am?.

Guru, and he's Dev.

My friend, Puran.

We would miss you a lot.

Here Puran, my restaurant's

special buttermilk.

I made it myself.

Send two glasses for us as well.

Puran, first tell me where

were you all these years..

..and what were you doing?.

Tell me about good-looking girls.

Stupid man, if sister-in-law

Preet finds out..

..you are discussing these

things with him.

She'll churn you like

this buttermilk.

Puran, the priest.

Recognise him, Puran.

You are talking like a fool.

He has recognised us

after so many years..

..won't he recognise the priest.

Puran you know.

The priest still hasn't

emerged from that shock.

What happened that day was very bad.

We should never have

made such a bet.

Now you are talking like a fool.

Puran didn't know that Ramu

was so weak-hearted.

He would have never made such

a bet if he had known.

You are strange, Guru.

Actually, in our childhood

we made a bet with Ramu.

He's so scared.

- I am not a coward.

Fine, I'll keep 4 lemons

in Mullahpur graveyard.

And you can fetch them at midnight.

And we'll know that you

are not a coward. - Yes.

So, agreed.

- Agreed.

He's going, look.

He was about to pick

up the last lemon..

..when he felt someone has

caught him from behind.

He suffered a heart attack

at that moment.

In the morning, people saw..

..his shirt was stuck

in a tree branch.

Puran!

What's wrong, dear?.

What happened?.

- Did you arrange for the money?.

No Savitri. - The child's

condition is getting worse.

I have faith in my Lord Ram.

God will come himself

to help his devotee.

Don't worry, dear.

What's this..

Let's go.

Puran.

There's a snake in

the priest's house.

There's a snake in

the priest's house.

Priest, there's a snake.

Priest, there's a snake.

Puran. Puran.

Puran.

Puran. The priest got the money.

And, he thinks Lord Ram has bailed

him out of this difficulty.

Puran, you really made me happy.

What you just did, was

just unimaginable.

I am not God, nor a

honest men like you.

Now you'll say that

you are not Puran.

Yes, I am not Puran.

What are you saying?.

You are not Puran.

I..

So his family thinks you are Puran.

- Yes.

But why.. did you help the priest.

Because Puran was responsible

for their condition.

And I am responsible for

what happened with Puran.

Can I ask you something?.

I mean, if you didn't

murder Mhatre..

..then why don't you

tell the police?.

The police think I am a murderer.

And they are following me.

Then, we'll have to hide you.

That's what I am doing.

But why did you tell me everything?.

What if I tell your

secret to everyone?.

We are not related anymore.

There is. We are related.

By the bond of faith.

Like the one between

Ram and Hanuman.

Welcome, sir.

Consult a doctor.

- Sir, I am a doctor.

I mean consult a good doctor.

- Just a minute.

Listen.

- Yes.

Sir, my wife.

Show me the body.

- Sir.

Where's the dead body.

- Yes.

Okay.

Sir, no one has claimed

the body until now.

And we didn't find anything that

can tell us his identity.

Sorry.

Just a minute.

What's wrong with you?. - I don't

know how I got this allergy.

Excuse me.

- Yes.

Feed an apple everyday to

your husband. - Apple.

An Apple a day keeps

the doctor away.

Or else you will catch

a cold as well.

You are so good looking.

You won't look good sneezing.

Rane, by the way. Bye.

Father. Father.

- What's wrong?.

Chaudhary has barged in

our fields with his men.

Father. Father.

Puran. Puran.

- What's wrong?.

Father went to the fields

alone to meet Chaudhary.

What's going on, Chaudhary?.

Fencing.

Mr. Batwari was teaching me that

it's called fencing in English.

Let me come to the point.

This land now belongs

to me, Mr. Kripal.

So you're up to ruffianism.

Look at him.

When I don't answer him,

he says I'm misbehaving.

When I answer him, he

says it's ruffianism.

What should a decent man

like me do, after all?.

It's very difficult, Mr. Batwari!

Mr. Batwari, if you can't stop him..

..then at least don't support him.

This land belongs to me.

But the documents don't say so.

If it belongs to you,

then file a case. - Go!

I won't spare you! I'll

go to the police!

Mr. Kripal Singh, say hello

to the inspector from me!

Puran, where are you going?.

To talk.

- Puran!

Let him go. He'll just talk.

Who is he?.

He's Kripal Singh's grandson.

He's just returned from the city.

What you're doing is wrong.

I know. It's a bad habit.

But I can't get rid of it.

I've reduced it to quite an extent.

If you say..

I'm not talking about the cigarette.

Are you talking about these fields?.

This is my grandfather's land.

Stop the fencing.

Your grandfather has gone

to the police station.

The police are very cheap here.

You can bribe them for Rs. 10,000.
