FernGully: The Last Rainforest Page #4

Synopsis: The fairies live in a peaceful place in the forest called Fern Gully which has been protected for many years by Magi, a wise fairy with strong powers. Her grand-daughter Crysta is a charming, beautiful fairy that is very intrigued about the world outside of Fern Gully. She along with the other fairies in the forest do not believe humans exist and are only in stories, until a crazy bat by the name of Batty, comes and tells them all these crazy stories about how he was captured by humans and experimented on. At first no one believes him except Crysta and she is determined to find out if humans are real. She goes to a place called Mount Warning, where the evil shadow of destruction Hexxus is known to be trapped, and finds a human named Zak. When he is almost crushed by a tree Crysta accidently shrinks him to fairy-size and he falls on a tree that is about to be devoured by "The Leveller". "The Leveller" is a wood cutting machine that has been cutting down every tree the humans have been p

It's a recording of music.

Well, I don't know

what a recording is,

but I know what music is,

and that is not music.

Come with me and the boys.

We'll give you a taste of real

FernGully wildlife.

Unless, of course,

you're not up to it, "Zap."

- I'm up to anything

you can dish out, bud.

- [Growling]

[Laughing]

- Not now, Pips.

- Nuts!

- Come on, Zak.

See you around, "Zag."

[Music]I believe [music]

[Music] We've found the dream [music]

[Music] That we're keeping [music]

[Music]For more than just a day [music]

[Music]And even though [music]

[Music] The winds of change [music]

[Music]May come sweeping [music]

[Music]It's still a dream

worth keeping [music]

[Music]So don't let it [music]

[Music]Fade away [music]

[Music]Someday you might

be thinking [music]

[Music] That life has passed you by [music]

[Music] Your spirits

might be sinking [music]

[Music] With hope in short supply [music]

[Music]And that's the reason why [music]

[Music] That's the reason why [music]

- [Music]I know your dream's worth keeping [music]

- [Giggling]

[Music]As long as it will stay [music]

[Music]Even when you see [music]

[Music] The darkness come creeping [music]

[Music]A dream worth keeping [music]

[Music] Will never fade away [music]

Well, I guess I better go find

Magi and get you unshrunk.

- There's no hurry.

- No, I promised.

Let it wait till tomorrow.

Come here.

No, I've got to tell her

about you anyway.

Wait here. I'll be back

as soon as I can find her.

[Crysta's Voice]

Can't you feel its pain?

Oil. The leveler.

Oh, no.

[Hexxus Laughing]

Run, little ones.

We'll catch up to you

in FernGully soon enough.

[Laughing Maniacally]

[Crysta]

Magi?

Magi!

Oh, Magi, I've got

so much to tell you.

I went to Mount Warning,

and I found a human.

Well, come on.

I want you to meet him.

Magi, what's wrong?

Magi, can you heal it?

A force outside of nature did this.

I can't heal it,

and I can't stop it.

Zak can.

I know what did this, Magi.

A monster the humans fight.

Humans can stop it.

They have

these magic red marks that...

But Zak said...

[Gasps]

Humans did it.

Humans did it all.

[Screeching]

Crysta!

[Panting]

- Hey, what's goin'on, Zak?

- What are you talkin' about?

You know exactly what I'm

talkin' about... the forest.

- You know what's happening, don't you?

- What?

Good idea. Ask the human.

He may know.

- Uh, Crysta...

- You lied to me!

[Stammering]

L-l... Crysta...

I wish... I wish

the human tales were true.

They're not here

to protect the forest.

- They're cutting down trees.

They're destroying the forest.

- [All Gasp]

And I was helping them do it.

Batty was right.

- I was?

- They're coming this way.

You can't stop them.

You'll have to leave.

The humans have released Hexxus.

Gather everyone in the circle.

You know, Zak, truth doesn't

always win friends,

but it certainly

influences people.

You're not half bad

for a hominid.

[Sobbing]

Father?

- [Magi]

Since the beginning of time,

- Oh, Father.

We have been the guardians

and the healers of the forest.

We have too long forgotten

the magic powers of nature.

The time has come

to call on them again.

Remember:

All the magic of creation...

exists within

a single tiny seed.

[Thunder Rumbling]

[music][Vocalizing]

[music][Vocalizing Continues]

We must go to Magi.

Look for the hero

inside yourself, Crysta.

Look to the good and loving heart

in you and all others.

For just as every seed holds

the power and magic of creation,

so, too, do you...

and every other creature

in this world.

[music][Vocalizing Continues]

Magi, don't leave me.

I love you.

I'll always be with you.

[Echoing]

We all have a power,

and it grows when it is shared.

Remember what you've learned,

Crysta.

Oh, Magi.

[Machinery Whirring]

[Sinister Chuckle]

I'm back!

Hexxus!

Tony, Ralph,

stop!

[Gasps]

[Shouting, Chattering]

[Grunting]

[Whimpering]

Come on!

- [Squeaking]

- Let... go!

Hey, it's safer in here.

Coming through!

A fairy fortification!

[Sinister Chuckling]

[Screaming]

Crysta! Come on.

We gotta get everyone out of here.

- No!

- Crysta!

We can't. We've got

nowhere else to go.

This is our home.

Zak.

Huh?

This is the last time

I save you, human.

No! No, Batty.

Batty, take me back

to the leveler.

Are you crazy?

That's lemming talk.

- Wrong channel!

- [Whistles]

O Caesar,

Emperor of Rome...

- [Zak] Wrong channel!

- [Electrical Buzzing]

[As John Wayne]

Well, all right, gummy.

- We're goin' to war.

- Yes, that's it!

Back to the camp!

Batty, let's go!

[Batty Yelling]

[Imitating Bette Davis]

Fasten your seat belts.

It's gonna be a bumpy night.

We're goin' in full throttle.

That ought to keep those

rebel fighters off our tail.

Lock and load, gentlemen!

Time to rock and roll!

[Screams]
