WHIPE TO:

INT. TUNNEL OF TERROR – MINGO CITY

FLASH runs blindly down the ANCIENT STAIRS.

CLOSE ON:
FLASH'S FOOT slips... SUDDENLY, as if the ground has given way beneath him, FLASH is slipping and sliding dangerously OUT OF CONTROL.

ANGLE ON:
FLASH thudding into the BONE-COVERED rock floor, which saves him from tumbling headlong over a PRECIPICE.

ANGLE ON:
FLASH looking BACK UP the LONG STEEP STAIR. A BUBBLING HISS can be heard. There is a CREAKING as some great JOINTED THING moves with slow purpose in the DARK.

LOW ANGLE ON:
The LIGHT instantly REVEALS a HUGE LOATHSOME SPIDER/CRAB THING towering over FLASH!

CLOSE ON:
GORGOTH HISSES at FLASH! TWO great clusters of many-windowed EYES protrude from its bulbous head. Its CRAB-LIKE LEGS are bent, with a 12-FOOT SPAN and HAIRS that stick out like steel spines. ITS HUGE, SWOLLEN BODY, a vast bloated bag, sways, and sags between ITS legs. THE BEASTS’ age-old BLACK HIDE is knobbly and pitted, blotchy with LIVID SCARS and BOILS OF PUS.

GORGOTH beats the air with ITS ENORMOUS PINCERS.

ANGLE ON:
Calling up all his remaining STRENGTH and RESOLUTION, FLASH forces his LEGS to MOVE. He backs away - keeping his EYES on GORGOTH.

GORGOTH crawls SLOWLY towards him ... then, with sudden hideous SPEED, IT ATTACKS!

GORGOTH lashes out with its FRONT MANDIBLES ... FLASH is flung back... the SWORD clatters to the stone floor.

GORGOTH squats above FLASH, its EYE CLUSTERS fidgeting with hideous delight, gloating over a prey trapped beyond all hope of escape.

SUDDENLY! FLASH grabs the SWORD! He slashes wildly at the GIANT MUTATED BEAST hewing off the TIP of A LEG!

GORGOTH SPASMS a WILD BLUR of thrashing LEGS!

ANGLE ON:
FLASH leaps to his feet and RUNS - not even pausing!

TRACKING BACK:
with FLASH as he careers blindly down NARROW TUNNELS, gasping in the DANK AIR looking back over his shoulder for any sign of GORGOTH.

ANGLE ON:
FLASH sees the TUNNEL EXIT ahead. . . just as he runs straight into GORGOTH!

ANGLE ON:
GORGOTH HISSES and REARS above FLASH, its MOUTH wide open revealing a jagged row of long, pointed teeth! FLASH ducks inside the arch of its LEGS and STABS into one of its EYE CLUSTERS!

CLOSE ON:
GORGOTH SCREAMS, its MANDIBLES thrashing wildly, GREEN OOZE trickling from its WOUNDED EYE.

With its HUGE PINCERS, GORGOTH picks FLASH up off the ground by his right leg. THE BEAST opens its WIDE, FANGED MOUTH, and ROARS. FLASH struggles to pry the PINCERS apart as he is DANGLED by one leg over GORGOTH’S slavering maw. Suddenly! A red energy beam cuts the pincer holding FLASH clean off.

Off-screen, we hear a THUNDEROUS ROAR.

FLASH falls to the stone floor.

CUT TO:
Thun stands at the entrance to the hall. He tosses the rifle onto the ground. The lionman hurtles himself at GORGOTH, all the while drawing his sword in mid-leap.

Landing ON TOP of the howling, hissing beast, the lionman begins HACKING into GORGOTH’S face and multiple eyes. Foul green slime spatters as THUN violently buries his blade to the HILT into GORGOTH’S SKULL.

THUN is flung off the SCREAMING BEAST as it THRASHES and FLAILS violently in its final death throes. GORGOTH falls to the stone floor - DEAD.

THUN picks up the laser rifle and runs over to FLASH who is dazed and squatting on one knee. THUN helps him stand.

FLASH:

You showed up just in the nick of time, my friend.

THUN:

Are you injured, earthman?

FLASH:

I’m okay, I owe you, Thun. I’m alive, thanks to you.

THUN:

We are now even, earthman. A life for a life. However, I will remain and aid you in your fight against Ming.

FLASH:

That’s good. I appreciate it.

FLASH hears the low buzzing and popping of CRACKLING ELECTRICITY coming from somewhere down the gloomy corridor.

FLASH:

Hear that? The same sound I heard on that screen. We’ve got to stop it! It’s our only chance to save Dale! Come on!

FLASH and THUN race down the dark hallway.

WHIPE TO:

INT. HALLWAY – MINGO PALACE – DAY

PRINCESS AURA is escorted down a hallway by two AMAZONIAN FRIGIAN WARRIORS.

They come to a hatchway.

FRIGIAN WARRIOR #1:

Our rocket is in this hangar, princess. From here we will deliver you to the kingdom of Frigia.

FRIGIAN WARRIOR #1 turns her back on AURA to press in a code to the HATCH. When she does, AURA pulls out a dagger from the folds of her gown and whirls around, SLICING the throat of FRIGIAN WARRIOR #2 standing behind her. In a cascading gush of blood, FRIGIAN WARRIOR #2 gags and, grasping her throat, slumps to the floor.

FRIGIAN WARRIOR #2 spins around and pulls out a bowie-knife-like blade.

Suddenly, FRIGIAN WARRIOR #1 leaps, her blade jabbing savagely outward, but AURA easily evades it, moving away. They begin to circle. AURA jabs out, her knife slashing. She throws the amazon back, but not before FRIGIAN WARRIOR #1’s feet strike out, sending AURA to the floor. The amazon leaps onto her.

Suddenly, AURA, with lightning swiftness, pushes the FRIGIAN WARRIOR up and over. She is on top of her in a flash.

After a violent and bloody scuffle, AURA pinned the FRIGIAN WARRIOR #1 on the floor. AURA straddles her, spits in her face, and then rams her blade to the hilt into the chin of the amazon, penetrating her brain.

AURA stands up, panting like a feral animal. She glances to make certain the way is clear and stealthily slinks down the long hall toward a flight of stairs.

INT. TUNNEL OF TERROR – MINGO CITY

FLASH and THUN sprint down a small hallway of black stone. They come upon an arched entrance covered in a red, velvet curtain. FLASH peers through it.

INT. LOWER LEVELS – MINGO CITY

Amid the flashing of arcing electricity, FLASH sees the HIGH PRIEST directly in front of him, arms outstretched, and mumbling incoherently with religious fervor. On the opposite side of the shrine sits DALE enveloped in strobing rings of light as TORGO stands manning a control console.

ANGLE:
The stone STATUE of TAO MOVES! It bends down toward the HIGH PRIEST. The HIGH PRIEST opens his eyes and shrieks in horror.

HIGH PRIEST:

The great god Tao is displeased!

The HIGH PRIEST moves out of the toppling statue’s path just in time as the statue falls over and shatters onto the stone floor!

TORGO reacts as he sees FLASH and THUN emerge from behind the altar.

TORGO:

How dare you interrupt this Holy Ceremony!

FLASH leaps at TORGO and punches the large man in the cowled jaw. TORGO hardly reacts and punches FLASH back. FLASH felt it. They fight about the temple, knocking over vases and machinery.

FLASH grabs a sword off a monument and cuts TORGO down.

During the brief skirmish, the HIGH PRIEST slinks over to a lever in the wall, pulls it, and a trap door opens. He enters it.
