Now is not the time to panic.

We'll call the state police.

We'll

gather up our families and

stay together.

We're a town, it's about time we

started acting like one. Let's go.

Dewey, you go ahead.

-Huh?

Why, you're not going?

No, not just right yet. Somebody

ought to talk to Harker.

Oh.

(DOORS CLOSING)

(ENGINE STARTS)

(KNOCKING ON DOOR)

Mr. Harker.

Mr. Harker, it's...

It's me, Roger Pruitt.

Mayor Pruitt.

We've had a little trouble.

Thought you ought to know.

If this is a

bad time I could...

I could come back.

Uh, I have some good

news about the election.

What the hell?

Jesus!

(CREAKING)

Jesus!

(GROANING)

Oh! God damn it!

(SCREAMS)

ELIZABETH:
Ian, you have to

tell me what's going on?

Harker was part of

some strange cult.

My father was obsessed

with destroying them.

I never understood why.

I never really believed him.

We got too close to Harker.

Now, Harker, he took his revenge.

They came...

They came and wiped

out my entire family

and left me.

I survived.

They left me like this.

(SIGHS)

With this curse.

(INDISTINCT CONVERSATIONS)

Our Lord, who can conquer all evil

and by whom all

things are possible.

We ask you to invoke your

blessing on these silver bullets

and finally, to beat down

Satan under our feet.

We beseech thee to

hear us, good Lord.

Amen.

Don't go.

I have to.

But he'll kill you.

At least wait until you

have enough strength.

I can't.

I can't wait anymore.

I love you, Lizzie.

(DOOR CLOSES)

There's no reason to be polite.

You see the Devil, you shoot him.

Any questions?

Okay.

Let's go.

You don't know the half of it.

You're the one.

So f***ing what?

(KNOCKING ON DOOR)

MAN:
Dewey?

You'll just have to

wait till later.

Where's Dewey?

Mr. Dewey said to

start without him.

He thought I could be of some help.

We got enough then.

All right, let's go.

(PANTING)

Harker.

Where are you, you bastard?

Sh*t. Damn it.

Sh*t.

Shoot him.

(GUNS COCKING)

I said, "Shoot him."

I can't. He's a man.

Don't look like nothing but a man.

Ain't right this way.

You whimpering bastards!

I've had just about...

(GRUNTING)

(MEN MURMURING)

(HISSING)

(GUNS FIRING)

(SNARLING)

(FOOTSTEPS)

(YELLING)

(GUN FIRES)

CARL:
No!

I'll kill you.

(COUGHING)

You b*tch.

(GROANS)

(HYSTERICAL LAUGHTER)

Don't fight me, Ian.

We're brothers.

You're not my brother.

(YELLING)

You can't control it forever.

Go to hell.

Ian.

(BREATHING HEAVILY)

(SCREAMING)

Ian.

Ian, change.

(CHANTING)

(GROANING)

(CHANTING)

(GROWLS)

No.

(SCREAMING)

(ROARING)

Last chance.

(HISSING)

Ian!

(HISSING)

(RIPPING)

(HISSING)

(WAILING)

(GROANING)

(GROWLING)

Don't move.

(GROANING)

Ian, are you okay?

Gary Brandner

Gary Phil Brandner (May 31, 1930 – September 22, 2013) was an American horror fiction author best known for his werewolf themed trilogy of novels, The Howling. The first book of the series was adapted loosely as a motion picture in 1981. Brandner's second and third Howling novels, published in 1979 and 1985 respectively, have no association with the movie series, though he was involved with writing the screenplay for the second Howling movie, Howling II: Your Sister Is a Werewolf. The fourth movie of the Howling series, Howling IV: The Original Nightmare, is actually the closest adaptation of Brandner's original novel, though this too varies to some degree. Brandner's novel Walkers was adapted and filmed for television as From The Dead Of Night. He also wrote the screenplay for the 1988 horror film Cameron's Closet. more…
