01:
45:05,680 -- 01:45:09,036

''I only got my little girl now,'' he says.

1454

01:
45:09,240 -- 01:45:10,878

''She's my lifeline.''

1455

01:
45:12,680 -- 01:45:16,468

Then he says I can't sit in the box anymore

if I don't control myself.

1456

01:
45:16,960 -- 01:45:17,949

Son of a b*tch!

1457

01:
45:18,040 -- 01:45:20,998

He doesn't even watch the games,

just sits there drinking.

1458

01:
45:21,080 -- 01:45:22,672

Looks up at the TV now and then.

1459

01:
45:22,760 -- 01:45:26,309

I'd be better off in the cheap seats

with some real football people.

1460

01:
45:27,160 -- 01:45:28,752

You look good, Bunny.

1461

01:
45:30,120 -- 01:45:31,838

It was nice to see you.

1462

01:
45:34,400 -- 01:45:35,355

Thanks.

1463

01:
45:37,160 -- 01:45:39,549

I like it when you say that, Sam.

1464

01:
46:03,880 -- 01:46:05,393

''Dearest Buddy.''

1465

01:
46:15,960 -- 01:46:17,598

Hey, it's the general.

1466

01:
46:19,240 -- 01:46:21,435

Colonel. Is Otis in?

1467

01:
46:21,600 -- 01:46:23,192

-Come on in.

-If it's too late--

1468

01:
46:23,280 -- 01:46:24,474

Come on in.

1469

01:
46:32,760 -- 01:46:36,912

Otis is sitting up with some people

at the club. I don't think he'll be long.

1470

01:
46:44,720 -- 01:46:47,678

His hot sauce recipe

won a contest last year.

1471

01:
46:48,080 -- 01:46:49,752

They're selling it as far away...

1472

01:
46:49,840 -- 01:46:51,159

...as San Antonio.

1473

01:
46:52,120 -- 01:46:54,554

You've been in this house for a while?

1474

01:
46:55,280 -- 01:46:59,478

I've been here with him eight years.

He built it when he was with Leora.

1475

01:
47:00,400 -- 01:47:01,719

Never met her.

1476

01:
47:02,520 -- 01:47:04,750

There's a bunch of them you never met.

1477

01:
47:04,920 -- 01:47:06,512

Well, me neither.

1478

01:
47:08,280 -- 01:47:10,510

Let me show you around.

1479

01:
47:25,040 -- 01:47:28,271

He got into this cowboys-and-Indians stuff

a while back.

1480

01:
47:28,560 -- 01:47:30,039

Spent half his time poking...

1481

01:
47:30,120 -- 01:47:32,429

...around the library, way up to Austin.

1482

01:
47:52,400 -- 01:47:54,356

Kind of like a shrine, isn't it?

1483

01:
47:56,440 -- 01:47:58,396

Where did he get all this stuff?

1484

01:
47:58,560 -- 01:48:00,437

Your mother's got a brother, Alphonse.

1485

01:
48:01,280 -- 01:48:02,110

Uncle Al.

1486

01:
48:02,200 -- 01:48:05,875

Otis stood on good terms with him.

Whenever you make the news...

1487

01:
48:06,000 -- 01:48:07,319

...he sends it on.

1488

01:
48:07,960 -- 01:48:09,837

When they made you general...

1489

01:
48:10,040 -- 01:48:12,713

...Otis almost drove away

our customers going on about it.

1490

01:
48:12,800 -- 01:48:14,074

I'm a colonel.

1491

01:
48:14,640 -- 01:48:15,595

I know.

1492

01:
48:16,240 -- 01:48:18,993

The man made me memorize

the whole Army chain of command...

1493

01:
48:19,080 -- 01:48:20,718

...before he'd marry me.

1494

01:
48:24,680 -- 01:48:27,319

My mother said that

he never asked about me.

1495

01:
48:28,680 -- 01:48:30,272

He never asked her.

1496

01:
48:40,480 -- 01:48:41,993

Tell him I stopped by?

1497

01:
48:42,600 -- 01:48:43,635

Thanks.

1498

01:
48:47,960 -- 01:48:49,188

Catch you later...

1499

01:
48:50,960 -- 01:48:52,075

...Colonel.

1500

01:
49:23,520 -- 01:49:25,112

iSeora Cruz./i

1501

01:
49:27,480 -- 01:49:28,549

Who is it?

1502

01:
49:32,120 -- 01:49:34,998

What are you doing out here?

Are you crazy?

1503

01:
49:39,200 -- 01:49:41,760

In English. We're in the United States.

1504

01:
49:42,000 -- 01:49:45,595

I have some friends

and they have had an accident.

1505

01:
49:46,840 -- 01:49:49,229

-You have somebody else out there?

-We was...

1506

01:
49:49,320 -- 01:49:52,915

...by the river and I heard my friend

calling for help...

1507

01:
49:53,440 -- 01:49:54,759

...and I look...

1508

01:
49:55,280 -- 01:49:57,111

...and she has fallen in the water.

1509

01:
49:57,200 -- 01:49:59,111

Don't tell me lies. What happened?

1510

01:
50:00,720 -- 01:50:02,790

We was crossing the river.

1511

01:
50:08,160 -- 01:50:09,991

What are you doing out there?

1512

01:
50:10,120 -- 01:50:12,395

Wait. Who are they?

Why bring them here?

1513

01:
50:12,640 -- 01:50:14,119

I need help, iseora/i.

1514

01:
50:19,520 -- 01:50:22,432

I'll call Border Patrol.

They'll get her to the hospital.

1515

01:
50:23,960 -- 01:50:26,269

You think you're doing

these people a favor?

1516

01:
50:26,360 -- 01:50:28,999

What are they going to do?

They get on welfare...

1517

01:
50:29,080 -- 01:50:30,832

...or they become criminals.

1518

01:
50:55,920 -- 01:50:57,797

This girl is a friend of yours?

1519

01:
50:59,720 -- 01:51:01,153

I thought you were married.

1520

01:
51:01,360 -- 01:51:05,399

I am married to the cousin of a friend

but only to live here.

1521

01:
51:05,840 -- 01:51:07,558

This is the mother of my child.

1522

01:
51:09,320 -- 01:51:10,309

Typical.

1523

01:
51:20,320 -- 01:51:21,355

Homework?

1524

01:
51:23,080 -- 01:51:24,559

I finished that.

1525

01:
51:24,840 -- 01:51:26,432

I'm just messing around.

1526

01:
51:30,440 -- 01:51:31,509

Tanks, huh?

1527

01:
51:32,160 -- 01:51:33,434

Yeah, well....

1528

01:
51:33,880 -- 01:51:37,395

If you've got to be in the Army,

better to have something slick to drive.

1529

01:
51:37,480 -- 01:51:38,435

So....

1530

01:
51:39,640 -- 01:51:41,312

You're going in the Army?

1531

01:
51:43,960 -- 01:51:45,996

That's the general plan, isn't it?

1532

01:
51:51,200 -- 01:51:52,633

That's up to you.

1533

01:
51:56,560 -- 01:51:58,630

The Army isn't for everybody.

1534

01:
52:05,600 -- 01:52:08,319

It's not that I think

you wouldn't be good at it.

1535

01:
52:08,800 -- 01:52:09,915

You know....

1536

01:
52:12,120 -- 01:52:16,352

I wouldn't be disappointed if you decided

to do something else with your life.

1537

01:
52:19,000 -- 01:52:19,989

You wouldn't?

1538

01:
52:22,360 -- 01:52:23,270

No.

1539

01:
52:34,040 -- 01:52:35,951

How's your room shaping up?

1540

01:
52:37,520 -- 01:52:39,590

It's fine. I'm pretty much moved in.

1541

01:
52:39,680 -- 01:52:40,795

Good.

1542

01:
52:45,920 -- 01:52:47,797

Are we ever going to see your father?

1543

01:
52:48,320 -- 01:52:49,435

My father?

1544

01:
52:49,760 -- 01:52:50,954

He lives here, right?

1545

01:
52:51,040 -- 01:52:52,155

Yes, he does.

1546

01:
52:58,720 -- 01:53:00,153

Maybe we'll....

1547

01:
53:00,800 -- 01:53:03,598

We'll fix that thing out back and have...

1548

01:
53:04,000 -- 01:53:04,989

...a barbecue.

1549

01:
53:05,680 -- 01:53:07,272

We could invite him and...

1550

01:
53:07,360 -- 01:53:08,952

...and his wife over.

1551

01:
53:12,040 -- 01:53:13,792

He makes his own sauce.

1552

01:
54:10,000 -- 01:54:11,433

iLet's go! Hurry up!/i

1553

01:
54:12,720 -- 01:54:14,711

Everybody in the world will see.

1554

01:
54:17,760 -- 01:54:19,512

He was a doctor on the other side.

1555

01:
54:21,360 -- 01:54:22,509
