The tolling of steps synchronized to the beats per minute, of a song, which echoes in his ears, accompany Lucas to Stefan's house. As every evening, he meets a cat on the street, two caresses, a couple of purrs and he starts walking again; Time goes by. He looks at the clock, it's 7:37 pm; he forgot, it concerns him. Arrived 3/4 of the way, he meets Robert who seems quite busy carrying a really big mirror, let's say how long for a mirror Lucas asks why of the mirror, Robert replies that it is a gift for Stefan. Lucas doesn't ask questions and they set out; Time is systematic. Arriving at Stefan's house, with the shame of playing, Lucas calls him. Stefan opens the door, Robert is really behind and Lucas is fascinated by the sight of a pair of shoes belonging to Stefan in almost gray black, perhaps worn by Time.Every clock strikes the end of the evening, Lucas counts the time, Robert tries to give news of a job that will bring him abroad and Stefan talks his usual bullshit about how much he likes mirrors and how collecting them is a real fetish for him.Lucas has lost count, Robert will not give news of the job and Nobody understood Stefan. Stefan thanks Robert for the gift, who leaves with Lucas. A sombre look envelops Stefan's face. Endless journeys are being created in his head. Inexorable doubts haunt the poor man's head. He stares into the mirror.

Lucas, awakened by the noise of the neighborhood, gets up from his bed; with a slow and jerky step he reaches the kitchen and prepares breakfast. His mother is at work, his father is abroad for financial reasons, he has no brothers or sisters. The silent man mutes the insistent calls that arrive on his cell phone, between one biscuit and another. He swallows the last sip the cup reserves for him and walks towards the bathtub. Almost by chance, Lucas hears the phone vibrate and he answers. Tragic is the news that comes to his ear. Stefan is hanged. Lucas is in a panic. Sweaty, among the icy drops of water running down his face. He calls Robert. He does not answer. He gets out of the tub and He gets dressed. He leaves the house, has forgotten his keys, then comes back and then succeeds. The carabinieri who have gone to his house accompany him to the place of the suicide. The scenery is wonderfully detailed and frightening. Dangling, Stefan's body reflects on the mirror that Robert had given him a present. He calls him. No answer. "To think that only one evening has passed."

The parents don't want to keep that mirror, so they decide to give it to Lucas. He places it in the room. He is obsessed with looking at the mirror. It reflects another soul of yourself, as if another equal person was looking at you on the other side. According to some popular legends, the mirror is a passage from one parallel world to another but Lucas does not believe these things. All the theories that Stefan told seem stupid. You look at it. Lucas is fascinated.
