"So since you think he's cheating.. Do it back." He shrugged.
"Um no!"
"Why not? It's fair."
"No it's not."
"How come ?"
"You're not supposed to fight wrong with wrong."
"I hear ya."
"Plus I'm loyal. No matter what."
"Kissing another nigga .. Loyal?"
"Dre stop. We were just having fun."
"I liked it. I wanna do it more often."
"I didn't and I don't" I lied.
"Damn you gone play me."
"I like how you changed the topic to you."
I said sarcastically
"Nah , actually it's about us."
"There is no us."
The waiter walked up to our table. I ordered a waffle and some bacon. He ordered sausage and egg biscuit. When the waiter left he stared at me.
"Look.. I'm finna tell you straight up... I want you." I tried to speak but he kept going. "I want you to be mine. Not a kiss here and a hug there. I want you all the time. I can treat you good. Like a queen..."
"Deontae said the same thing."
"There's nothing the same about us though, we're different."
"So? Still saying sh*t I done heard before."
"Same sh*t , different approach"
"What you saying?"
"I'm saying me and dude can say the same sh*t. It's up to you to determine the difference."
I looked at him and noticed how serious he was. If I was single I would jump to that opportunity, but I'm not. And I barely know him.
"Let's get to know each other more" I said, intentionally changing the subject.
"Ok, tell me about your family background." He went along.
"I have a older brother and a younger sister. He's 25 & she's 17. We all have the same mom and dad. My parents are still married but they live in Nashville. My mom's a nurse and my dad owns a car shop. More about my sister, once again she's 17, her name is Nyla and about to start her senior year. She's a dancer at her school. She's a good girl. I miss her"
"You should go see her." He nodded in response to what I'd just stated.
"I am. She's coming up here. I have to ride to go get her. "
"That's good. What she look like?"
"Me."
"You? I bet them kids be all on her"
"Duh" She joked, flipping her hair.
"I would be if it was you. "
"Anyways moving on...."
The girl came back with our food and drinks.
"So tell me a little about your family" I said before eating.
"I have two younger siblings. They're twins and 18, Aubrey and Adrian. They stay here in Atlanta with my parents. I'm thinking about letting Aubrey move in with me. He stay asking."
"Why not Adrian too"
"She most likely don't wanna live with me. She hates every girl me and Aubrey talk to. "
"Awwww, she's over protective for her boys"
"We're the same with her."
"I wanna meet them"
"You can"
I started eating then a glimpse of me and him having our own family came into my mind. I shook my head trying to clear that thought. It was still there. I pictured us cuddling with a little girl, about the age of four, at the bottom of the bed eating dry fruit loops and watching a BRATZ movie. Me and Dre kissed and had low conversations not trying to disturbed our little girl.
"What you thinking about?"
I ate some bacon and blinked back to reality.
"Nothing"
"Lies"
"I was thinking about starting my own family."
"With who?"
"Nobody in particular." I lied.
"Oh."
For the next twenty minutes we ate and chatted until we were done.
"So what now?" Dre asked. When he asked that it blew my high. I realized this was the end of our time together. Which meant I had to go home to Tae's bullshit.
"I don't wanna go home."
He looked around and rubbed his head.
"Umm. Everything is closed"
"I know"
"Soo what you gone do?"
"Can I sleep on your couch?"
Chapter Sixteen
Dre's P.o.v
It took me a second to comprehend what she had just said.
"Yea, you're welcomed to."
"Ok, you sure?"
"Yes. I'm positive."
"Would it be a problem?"
"Nah, ma. You good." I thought about my guest room that's slowly turning into my sister's room.
