Synopsis: Playground is movie that talks about the gruesome murder of students and Scout members who went for hiking in Abuba forest in the year 2015. Government labelled the forest, wild reserve, but Obuzu, in his curiosity, unravels the mystery in the Abuba Forest

TONY:

The little work you see no pay. If you don’t have somebody, you are nobody. But what shall we do? (sigh)

BENARD:

Tony the best option is to leave this country

FLINT:

Do you think that is the best option?

BENARD:

No work, poor education, police brutality, killing everywhere, no justice. What is life for?

He gulps from his bottle of beer and light a cigarette. Flint is smoking, only tony does not smoke.

TONY:

(Feeling less concerned)

I think of going to another city, and not leaving the country entirely.

BERNARD:

(With warm smile)

FLINT:

BENARD:

aww! ya so mean now. chill up. Forget the past. u gotta like that.

TONY:

FLINT:

14. EXT. STREET - DAY - CONTINUOUS

The police coming with their van, they stop and arrest the three boys. They put them in the van and drives out

15. INTSCOUT HEADQUATERS – DAY

Obuzu visits scout headquarters with two of the scout members. They meet the scout commissioner and after discussion, he gives them form to fill and sign. Obuzu signs as well as one of the scout members, then commissioner now signs and gives the form to the secretary to duplicate and gives one to obuzu. He salutes him and they goes out.

16.EXT - THUGS MANSION - DAY

sir Rochas comes out with his thugs, turns to Nibro SIR ROCHAS

They got everywhere messed up...

Get it clean

NIBRO:

yes sir

SIR ROCHAS:

you got news

NIBRO:

The road construction, they approaching fast

SIR ROCHAS:

oh yeah... I am going to commissioner’s office

He enters his car and departs

17 INTVINCENT HOUSE - DAY

Obuzu in scout uniform visits sir vincent house

OBUZU:

my name is obuzu, the scout leader

VINCENT:

You need know formality. Have heard about you. Actually i appreciate your work . There is one

VINCENT:

Significant thing i observe from the scouts, discipline... is that the scout motto?

OBUZU:

Always be prepared, scout motto.. If one is not discipline, he or she can’t serve the nation.

MRS VINCENT:

Do they take an oath?

OBUZU:

MRS VINCENT:

That’s interesting... you brought scout to this place, wish it lasts even if you’re gone

OBUZU:

Scout has been in existence before i came, it just need to be refired. They abandoned it for selfish interests. i pray so, real scout operates in all round the world.

VINCENT:

OBUZU:

18INT - SCHOOL HALL - DAY

The camera zooms from the inscription "labara hall" then moves inside where students sit comfortably. there were vacant seats for the lecturers.

OSCAR:

Good morning the greatest students. as we are waiting for our lecturers as the parliaments and judges, let us recall in mind that, the geologist, the surveyors are all born of this great school. it doesn’t matter who is t first to write to the school authority about the excursion. i want to introduce to you, i know you people may be wondering, who they are? some of you might have heard of them or even know them. mr. clark, mrs. olivia vera, mr. desmond crew and dr. frank carriage. these are the greatest students of our great schools. their names are good to hear in this school and it’s written all over the schools. mr. clark, you have few minutes before the lecturers comes in.

CLARK:

Thank you. i really appreciate and my honor to be here once again, not just been in school but to stand in the midst of the greatest of all greatest. the geologist, the architect, the surveyor and the rest. it is often said that, when spiritual, moral, economic, social or political instability grips a society, the greatest leader will emerge to paddle the ship of that given society. they tried to deny us our future. we read theory, no practical. the goggle goon fellas, with big spectacles stand as the

CLARK:

watch dogs. i think it’s time we move on, to create our own future. time to explore those things they left unaided. time to change the news of we can’t, to we can. we are all called together like a cross. we support each other, the miners, the maps and the artists. if we all could look inside ourselves, we could find that we need each other around. at these juncture, i stand to urge you all to work together so as to achieve the greatest height. united we stand, divided, hard to stand. thank you once again for this great privilege to address us all. thanks mr. oscar.

The students clap as he moves to his seat. he shakes hand to his co-personals.

19INT - LABARAN HALL - DAY - CONTINUOUS

Eric and Mimi at the back discussing different thing and laughing. (inaudible voice)

20INT - LABARAN HALL - DAY - CONTINUOUS

Bosa and his guys at the other side looking at Eric and Mimi. Bosa, not happy. he types something on his phone and sent to Mimi. (stared at Mimi)

21INT - LABARAN HALL - DAY - CONTINUOUS

Mimi checks her phone and look up, searching for bosa’s direction. The two eyes meet each other. mimi adjusts herself and holds on to Eric very closely. Lecturers talk, changes her direction and mind. Bosa can no longer bear the pain, he decided to go out with his friends. the lecturers approves the union of the three bodies to go for the excavation/excursion together to the Abuba forest. The students are happy and embracing each other and very happy. Eric hug Oscar his good friend while Mimi decides to be going.

22INT - LABARAN HALL - DAY - CONTINUOUS

Mimi getting close to the entrance door, bosa stops her and they start discussing.

(inaudible talk)

23INT - LABARAN HALL - DAY - CONTINOUS

Eric gets close to them and pass, mimi turn and excuse herself from Bosa and follow Eric. Bosa looking at them smile and lean on the wall, but his friends’ calls him.
