Post Grad Page #8

Synopsis: Ryden Malby has planned her academic life since she was in high school to get a college scholarship; now she has just graduated in English and in her master plan she expects to get a job as assistant editor in the publishing house Happerman & Browning, in Los Angeles. Her platonic best friend is Adam Davis, who has a crush on her and is frequently close to her. However, her arrogant classmate Jessica Bard gets the position and Ryden is forced to return home in the suburb to live with her family: her optimistic father Walter, who wants to do everything by himself; her careful mother Carmella who administrates the short resources of her family; her eccentric grandmother Maureen; and her weird little brother Hunter, who wants to race in a boxcar derby. Ryden unsuccessfully seeks a job and feels frustrated, but is emotionally supported by Adam. When Walter accidentally runs over the cat of his next-door neighbor David Santiago with Ryden's car, they visit him to give their sympathies. Ryde

#Makin'my way day by day

comin'back to you #

#Here, unafraid of the path

that I choose, so I #

#Turn, turn, turn #

#I turn back around #

#And that's where you are found ##

Hey.

Life sucks without you.

I miss you. I...

Well, of course I miss you. I...

I knew that I would, but it's not like a...

"Hey, we had some great times...

you know, keep in touch" kind of thing.

It's... It was more like,

"I can't eat... I can't sleep...

I forget what it feels like to laugh"

kind of thing.

And I really think that when you left...

you took my heart with you.

Um...

I- I probably should've called first.

Oh, whoa. Whoa. No, no, no. Hold...

Ryden! Whoa!

Where are you... Where are you going?

Ryden!

Ryden. Ryden, hey. Wait. Hold up.

Look. Hey. Stop. All right? Hey.

She's my R.A.

I was just filling out a maintenance report.

- She's not...

- No.

Really?

Yeah.

I love you.

Well, that's good.

'Cause I love you.

#Some kind of magic #

#Happens late at night #

- Wanna go inside?

- Yeah.

#When the moon smiles down at me #

- Hey, Walt, it's Ryden.

- Oh.

- Hey, sweetie-pie.

- It's her machine, so leave a message.

Oh. Hey, guess who's coming for a visit.

We got cheap-ass tickets

on CheapAssTickets-dot-com, swear to God.

Ask Adam if he's got a pull-out,

'cause Grandma's got that heinous hump.

- 'Cause I don't wanna have her

suffering more than she... - Stop that!

I don't have a hump! Give me that.

I don't have a hump. I can sleep

anyplace you wanna put me, Ryden.

And, honey, it's genetic,

so take your calcium.

And don't forget to layer up, okay?

You're from California.

- And remember, condoms are

your best friend. - Oh, you have to...

Wait, like, the whole family's coming?

#It's a brand new day #

#The sun is shining #

#It's a brand new day #

#For the first time

in such a long, long time #

#I know #

#I'll be okay ##

#I'm counting the streetlights #

#It's all I can do #

#While driving myself crazy #

#Trying to get to you #

#It feels wrong at the right time #

#To reveal my hand #

#It's like I'm doing the worst I can #

#To make you understand #

#Maybe one day you will know #

#How hard it is for me #

#To show my heart #

#And all the love I have #

#Running through my soul #

#Maybe one day you will know #

#I'm hoping you just might #

#Take a moment to realize #

#That everything you're looking for#

#Is hidden in plain sight #

#I know you better#

#Than I know myself#

#How I feel is the only thing that #

#I could never ever tell you #

#Maybe one day you will know #

#How hard it is for me #

#To show my heart #

#And all the love I have #

#Running through my soul #

#Maybe one day you will know #

#Maybe one day you will know #

#Maybe one day you will ##
