Playing tennis.

An album cover.

It's painful for him.

JEFF:

You sure that's the way he felt?

JENNY:

It's the way I felt... Would you like something to

drink? I think I have some brandy.

JEFF:

I don't want to keep you up.

JENNY:

She has moved to a cabinet and is fumbling among the bottles.

JEFF:

JENNY:

dark.

He moves to the cabinet.

JEFF:

You can't see at all?

JENNY:

I can see light. Shapes.

He's poured two snifters of cognac.

Gives her one.

Jenny lifts the glass to toast him.

JENNY:

'Brighter days ahead.

They drink.

JEFF:

Isn't there anything that can be done? An operation

or something?

JENNY:

heal by itself, but it might not.

On the nearby coat rack Jeff sees his scarf --

From the night of the shooting.
