Tess:
No it wasn’t me but it might have been my mom. I live with my stepmom and occasionally a nurse comes to take care of her when I’m going out.

Officer:
Can I come in and have a look?

Tess:
Of course. Would you like a drink?

Officer:
No thank you. Is everything okay with her coz you did mention a nurse.

Tess:
Yes after my dad died, her health started deteriorating. She wasn’t as bad as she is right now. I don’t know what happened suddenly. She just went numb and can’t do anything on her own.

Officer:
I am sorry to hear that.

Tess:
No it’s okay. ( Opening the door) There she is.

Officer:
Question, if she can’t move how did she dial 999?

Tess:
Okay so she can move a little bit and also 999 is on speed dial so yeah, maybe she hit it by mistake.

Officer:
Where is the nurse?

Tess:
She is in the basement doing laundry.

Officer:
( leaving the room with Tess) Well I guess everything seems okay. Are you going out?

Tess:
Yes I am. With my friends.

Officer:
I noticed. That red dress looks good on you. Red is definitely your color.

Tess:
Thank you officer. Yes the color red is very sentimental to me.

Officer:
Okay but remember to take care of yourself. It’s not safe out there. Do you need a ride?

Tess:
I will and thanks for the offer but the nurse is taking her sweet time, I should probably go and help her so that I can get going.

Officer:
Okay, have a good night then.

Tess:
You too.

(She locks the door and heads off to the basement.)..

SCENE 9.

( This scene happens in a park called the King park.)

Jake:
Tess, always fashionably late.

Tess:
( chuckling) Hey it’s hard to convince my mom.

Jean:
Yoh! Why did you come dressed like the dark night?

Tess:
Its called camouflage. You know black is my color plus black leather jacket and biker shorts I think is perfect for this situation.

Mike:
I think you look sexy.

Jean:
(Rolling his eyes) Oh for the love of Christ.

Tess:
So when is she getting here?

Mike:
10pm

Jake:
So we have like ten minutes to go. Hope he takes the bait.

Jean:
Tess put the police on speed dial. If he comes, we’ll signal you to call them okay?

Tess:
Okay.

Mike:
Now Tess, go and stay in the car. Lock all the doors and lay low. Don’t open the door for anyone apart from us. Okay?

Tess:
Yea okay. I’ll wait in the car.

(She leaves for the car. Ten minutes pass over and the call girl is passing by. Jake calls her.)

Jake:
Hello, where are you?

Melissa:
Hello, King’s Park.

Jake:
Okay, just stay there on a bench, I’m coming to get you.

Melissa:
Sure. ( Cuts call and sits down)

Jean:
Now we wait.

SCENE 10.

(This scene is set in King’s park in Jean’s car.)

Teresa:
(laughing) Oh dear sister, your friends are keepers. They still haven’t figured that we are not the same person. You’d think they know you well.

But anyway, works for me. Teresa this is your moment to shine. ( Laughs as she puts on her cloak)

This is the spotlight we’ve been waiting for all of our lives. Let’s go shine.

( She dials the police and gives the location of the Vampire Killer and cuts call.)

(Meanwhile in Tess’s house.)

Tess:
( To the nurse) Please try to move and cut this rope. My friends are in danger. She is going to kill them.

Nurse:
I’m almost there miss.

Tess:
(crying) How did I not know she came back. It’s been years since we met. Have you ever seen her in the house?

Nurse:
Now that I think about it, I believe I did. I just thought it was you in a really bad mood.

Tess:
Oh my God, I really hope she didn’t harm mom. I’ll die if she did.

Nurse:
Done Miss you are free.

Tess:
Thank you. ( She unties her feet and the nurse.) Go and call the police fast and tell them to go to King’s park immediately. Check on mom and call an ambulance. I’m going to King’s park.

Nurse:
No miss you’ll bleed out. You’ve been stabbed, it’s dangerous.

Tess:
My friends are in trouble. Just call the cops.

SCENE 11.

Jake:
( looking through the binoculars) Guys what is that.

Jean:
(Taking them) It’s a cloaked figure. The killer!

Mike:
(taking them) Wait, why is he leaning on the car!

All:
Tess!!

Jake:
( looking through the binoculars) Guys something is wrong. Why does he look a lot like Tess.

Mike:
(taking them) No it can’t be. Tess?! Has to be a prank guys.

Teresa:
(Roughly grabbing the call girl who had her earphones on.) ( In a loud voice) What is it with those looks. You’re all so pathetic. Fine I’ll tell you exactly what you want to know. I am……

(A car speeds up and stops right in front of them. Tess steps out and the guys gasp. She has a knife sticking out of her stomach and blood dripping.)

Teresa:
Well way to ruin my moment. I’m impressed that you survived.

Tess:
What do you want?

Teresa:
Simple, blood. ( She bites into the call girl’s neck and she screams.) Whores, disgusting.

( She slits her throat and throws her body down unceremoniously.)

Tess:
Why did you do that. The police are coming you’ll be put in jail.

Teresa:
I know. I called them. They sure are taking their sweet time.

All:
(gasps)

Tess:
(crying) What do you want?

Teresa:
Are you deaf or just plain dumb. (To the guys) she was never the smart one.

(She sits down casually and takes out her popcorn and coke.)

Teresa:
I will never forget what you did Tess. You pushed yourself down the stairs and claimed I did it. I was sent to a borstal for that. And our step mom made sure I was. She waited till she killed dad and then she kicked out the kid who didn’t like her with your help. Surely after all that did you expect me to be good to you now did you?

Tess:
I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.

Teresa:
Wow. Sorry. Golden. I’m not Jesus.

Tess:
Fine then let my friends go.

Teresa:
Do I look like I have them chained.

(Police cars are seen approaching in a distance)

Teresa:
(standing up) Well took them long enough. (Walking over to Tess) Oh and one more thing, goodbye. (She pushes the knife deeper, twist it and pulls it out)

(Tess falls to the ground crying and struggling to breathe)

The guys:
(Running over to her) Tess!!

Teresa:
(Sitting down again) Seems like your plan failed and people died.

(The lights fade as the cops surround them.)

Reporter:
The Vampire Killer has just been arrested just last night after she killed a call girl and her twin sister. It looks as if she gave herself up as they found her casually eating popcorn and drinking a coke as the sister’s friends tried to save her. She has been taken to a psychiatric unit for a lengthy evaluation. The serial killer, who had previously been thought to be male, has shocked the whole nation and killed 12 women.
