The Wise Kids Page #5

Synopsis: A vivid, dynamic Southern coming-of-age drama, takes place in the transitional space between high school and college, when life seems to be all questions and no answers, and the future is scarily wide open. Set in and around a Charleston, SC Baptist church, weaving through this ensemble piece are three main characters - Brea, an introspective pastor's daughter experiencing debilitating doubt, the hyperactive Laura, Brea's best friend and a devout believer, and Tim, the open-hearted son of a single father, confronting his homosexuality for the first time. Tensions and buried feelings abound, as colleges are chosen and adults behave badly, as Brea, Laura and Tim attempt to hang onto what they have, all the while yearning to break free.

But, uh, I'm really excited, guys.

Merry Christmas, and, uh...

Yeah... This is gonna be good.

Snacks are here in the lobby.

Now, please be sure to

hide the styrofoam cups

if you take them outside

because they're modern.

- Thank you, Harry.

- You're welcome.

- Do you need anything?

- I think I'm good, thanks.

And there we have it.

- Oh, you look good.

- Thanks, Harry.

Let's do this.

This is why you're not wise men.

OK!

Are we ready? Let's do this!

Uh, Harry... music!

Let 'em in!

Music good, Austin?

Yeah, it's good. Thanks, Harry.

- Good.

- Sounds good.

You know, if you ever wanted to

get together sometime for lunch

and talk about that Easter

music, I'd be all for that.

Oh, sure... Thanks.

- It's never too soon.

- No. Nope.

Merry Christmas, my friend.

- Merry Christmas, Harry.

- Thank you.

You're a good kid, Austin...

You're a good kid.
