SCENE ONE
ACT ONE
Chief Milford: I promise it won’t hurt just trust me
Thelma:
Please sir am not ready for this yet.. If my mom should find out she’ll kill me, please I beg youChief Milford: Don’t you know it’s an abomination for a woman to see the nakedness of a man with whom she has not done anything with?
Thelma:
But sir I promise it was an honest mistake (verge of crying)Chief Milford: Honest mistake or whatever you call it I don’t care! A little girl like you cannot see my nakedness and not taste it (trying to grab Thelma close when the door opens)
Miss Grace:
Chief! (She shouts as she walks in leaving the door open)(Thelma let go of chief’s grip and runs out of the room, leaving him and miss Grace alone)
Chief Milford: Don’t you knock before entering someone’s home? (In an angry tone)
Miss Grace:
Chief what were you trying to do to that little girl? (Looking surprised)Chief Milford: That doesn’t answer my question woman! (trying to buckle his pants with a shaky hand)
Miss Grace:
Don’t tell me you were trying to take advantage of that girl... Chief!Chief Milford: Shut up! What do you want here? (He asks in a warm tone as he takes a sit)
Miss Grace:
I came so you could sign the documents for the sale of the duplex I’ve been trying to reach you on phone but you weren’t taking my callsChief Milford: So that could’nt wait till tomorrow?
Miss Grace:
The buyer is traveling tomorrow so the paperwork has to be signed todayChief Milford: I don’t see any paperwork with you
Miss Grace:
That’s because I left it downstairs and came upstairs to see what’s happening since I was hearing voicesChief Milford: That was the reason why you invaded my privacy? (Wondering)
Miss Grace:
I’m sorry Chief.... I’ll get the papers now (leaving the room).
ACT TWO
(Thelma still wasn’t home and her mom was worried.)
Mrs Arinze:
(To herself ) This is weird it’s past 8pm and Thelma still isn’t back, where could she be? And Becky’s number too isn’t connecting maybe I should go over to Becky’s house she could be there (picks up her keys and hurried to the door, as she opens it was Thelma in front of her. Thelma walks in as Mrs Arinze steps aside)Thelma:
Good-evening mom(in a slow tone)Mrs Arinze:
I have been trying your number it wasn’t connecting same with Becky’s, I even called her moms she said she wasn’t home, Where were you Thelma? (Talking to a shaky Thelma)Thelma:
(In relief) I was at Becky’s and my battery died same with Becky’s that’s why I couldn’t call to tell you I would be lateMrs Arinze:
What made you stayed this late if I may ask?Thelma:
HomeworkMrs Arinze:
Go up and change (She walks towards a sit)Thelma:
Yes ma (walking away)Mrs Arinze:
Thelma (Thelma stops and turn) Are you sure there’s something you’re not telling me?Thelma:
(turns in surprise) No ma, nothingMrs Arinze:
Are you sure?Thelma:
Yes ma (And she walks out)
SCENE TWO
ACT ONE
(Miss Grace sat in her office wondering who that little girl is and why she was in Chief Milford’s bedroom with him alone..... Who is she, How is she connected with him? She kept asking herself when she realized someone standing in front of her table. She raised her head and it was the same girl)
Thelma:
Good-day ma’am please am here to see Chief(Thelma not remembering her)
Miss Grace:
And you are? (Now paying close attention to her and seeing she was not as little as she taught)Thelma:
Thelma, my name is ThelmaMiss Grace:
well Thelma I’ll go in and inform chief you’re here please don’t scoop around ( she stood up and heads to chief office)Thelma:
( mimicking her) Please Don’t scoop around.. I wasn’t even planning to(Miss Grace returns)
Miss Grace:
Thelma you may go in now Chief would like to see you too (she takes her sit)Thelma:
Thank you (and she enters Chief’s office)(Miss Grace in thoughts)
Miss Grace:
Thelma, what could she want with Chief?
ACT TWO
(Inside Chief’s office)
Chief Milford: please take a sit Thelma (offering Thelma a sit in front of his table)
Thelma:
Thank you sir (She sits down)Chief Milford: You came to see me ( smiling mischievously)
Thelma:
Yes Chief, I came to apologize for the other day. Please forgive me I didn’t mean for things to turn out that wayChief Milford: It’s ok dear I should be the one apologizing to you. I’m sorry for the way I reacted towards you and I should have gone easy on you please forgive me (smiling at Thelma)
Thelma:
It’s fineChief Milford: That was the reason why you came or there’s more to your visit?
Thelma:
That wasn’t the only reason why I came (look at Chief for a moment then continues) I also came to tell you I have agreed to your proposalChief Milford: (In a happy tune) What made you change your mind?
Thelma:
Becky, she said you’re a kind man and you’ll go easy on me and that you also know how to take responsibility for your actionsChief Milford: (In Jubilee) oh Becky! You know I really like that friend of yours she’s the best... make sure you keep her around okay?
(Thelma nods)
Thelma:
But Chief Please promise me I won’t regret this decision(Chief Milford stood up and walk’s to Thelma sit and kneels in front of her)
Chief Milford: I promise you princess now cheer up......
(He stood up and walks to his sit, opens a drawer and brings out a bundle of cash and drops in front of Thelma)...... Now this will cheer you up
Thelma:
That’s a lot of money Chief, who’s it for? (In a shocked tone)Chief Milford: You darling, that’s a promise you won’t regret your decision
Thelma:
Thank you Chief (smiling)Chief Milford: And call me Mill
Thelma:
But that kinda sounds disrespectfulChief Milford: It’s ok if the disrespect is coming from you princess... No more Sir, Chief or Mr okay? Milford, Mill or even something sweeter like baby (laughs)
Thelma:
Yes MillChief Milford: I see you learn fast, good!
Thelma:
Mill May I please take my leave now? I didn’t tell my mom I would be staying out lateChief Milford: Sure! So when am I seeing you again darling?
Thelma:
call me (she stands up)Chief Milford: Ok, come give daddy some sugar before you leave.......
(Thelma walks to Chief Milford’s sits and pecked his cheek... he taps her ass as she heads outs).... I’ll call you baby, bye!!
(Thelma opens the door and walks out)
ACT THREE
(Miss Grace looking at her as she walks out from Chief Milford office and closes the door)
Miss Grace:
You’re the girl from Chief’s house the other dayThelma:
ohh you’re the lady that barged in to Milford’s room (rudely)Miss Grace:
That “barged in” saved your little ass (smiling mischievous)Thelma:
From what again?Miss Grace:
Whatever Chief was about to do to youThelma:
Why didn’t you try and “save” me today then? Whatever I don’t care (sounding rude) anyways thank you ( She begins to walk out)Miss Grace:
( to Thelma) be careful with Chief though (sounding with care).
