love at first sight.

What are you talking about?

There's love at first sight.

I always have to

know the person first.

DANNY:
No, there's totally

love at first sight.

Maybe lust at first sight.

No, I have experienced it.

PARKER:
How old were you?

Oh my god.

Um,

I should probably go,

but thanks for the beer

and your paintings

are incredible.

What?

(DOOR CREAKS)

(SLOW GUITAR MUSIC)

(DOOR CLOSES)

And I just wanna

lie with you

I wanna go grey with you

But I don't wanna

capture you

I'll always be after you

And no man's a saint

And no man could capture you

With words of pain

Hey.

Hey.

I've seen a few of them go

And died, broke and insane

A man, cut in pain

Nice guy on the floor

I rode a little red boat

Used to give him

a way with words

And he walked away from her

Don't think he

ever got to see

The lights on the

Eiffel Tower

And I just wanna

lay with you

I wanna go grey with you

But I don't wanna

capture you

(PARKER SCREAMS)

That was louder.

I'll always be after you

And no man's a saint

Your favorite painting, huh?

(THUNDER RUMBLING)

Yeah.

A Native American chief

Blue Cloud died here.

Like, these four

rock formations?

They represent

four great chiefs.

My buddy Jessie took me

here for the first time.

Maybe you aren't

an uncultured hick.

I wouldn't go that far.

This is beautiful, Danny.

In moments before a big

track meet, I'd come up here

and reflect on the

moment ahead, you know?

Why did you give it up?

You don't have to tell me.

It was my senior year

and I was contending

for first in the state.

See, my Dad, he

was an encourager.

He made you believe you

could do anything, Parker.

Anything.

They were at every single

track meet, my parents.

The second to last meet

of the year, divisionals,

I ran my best race.

I didn't see him there though.

Turned out a semi driver

fell asleep on the road.

Oh god, Danny.

I haven't ran since.

I just couldn't.

Threw away my full

ride into Colorado.

I don't know what to say.

But Parker,

when I'm around you, it's

like I'm in this dream

and everything else

just fades away.

I don't wanna be

separated from you.

You're never gonna be.

(SLOW GUITAR MUSIC)

(UPBEAT ROCK MUSIC)

All I want to do

Is dig a hole with you

Feeling no stranger

to the undertow

Wind won't decide

which way to blow

But we will never leave

You're all that's

left for me

This is our home, we

just don't have a door

Euphoria is a wrist

on the floor

Words keep on crawling

from under the love

But who knew that love

was a dangerous drug

Even the tide gets

high at night

And even the truth

is wrong sometimes

Sometimes

Who knew that love was

a beautiful blues

Who knew that love

was a dangerous drug

I really like the

new place, Parker.

Thank you.

Do you think you can

paint me sometime soon?

Yeah.

Speaking of paintings,

how's yours coming?

I actually haven't

started it yet.

JANICE:
You know, it's due Tuesday.

I know, I'm

working on it all day

tomorrow when Danny's at work.

JANICE:
Oh, well, if Danny's working.

PARKER:
Really, Jan?

Oh my god.

Stop it.

Jan, Dan is hot, okay?

You need to let loose a bit.

Thank you.

And you need to start painting.

Jan and I will bring

you back leftovers.

Jan, come on.

Now.

(UPBEAT GUITAR MUSIC)

(WATER POURING)

When I look to the

edge of the street

The moon on the right

When I look to the sun

(JACK GRUNTING)

Say uncle.

Get off of me, f***-face.

Say uncle.

Say Uncle, peg leg.

JACK:
Uncle.

Now say you're my b*tch.

F*** you, Robby.

Say you're my b*tch, Jack.

JACK:
Goddammit.

Ah, I'm your b*tch,

I'm your b*tch.

That's better.

God, f***.

(SOFT GUITAR MUSIC)

I'm not mad.

ROBBY:
Where the f*** is Danny?

He's in love, man.

What?

(DOOR OPENS)

Danny, where have you been?

Scoot over, Jack.

Dude, someone put

a nut on your face.

F***, let's go.

Sweet.

DANNY:
Where you going?

Top of the world, you coming?

No.

What the f***?

I'm hanging out

with Parker, dude.

You hang out with her every day.

So, she's hotter than you guys.

ROBBY:
If you're not coming,

I'm gonna sick Nate on you.

(DANNY SIGHS)

Come on, dude.

(UPBEAT ROCK MUSIC)

(TRAIN WHISTLE)

I have a confession to make.

Uh-oh.

I've never been to Seattle.

I know.

I've never even

I haven't even left the

state of Montana, Parker.

You will.

How'd you know?

I could just tell.

How could you tell?

'Cause.

You work as a dishwasher

and you smoke cigarettes

and you hit on chicks at

the local dive (LAUGHS).

I know.

That's how I found you.

(PARKER LAUGHS)

There it is, Parker.

What?

DANNY:
That's freedom.

Freedom?

Yeah, freedom, man.

That's the I-15 going south.

That's the road to

freedom right there.

Right there.

PARKER:
Where does it go?

It goes to Butte

and then Colorado.

And then?

I don't know.

I don't know.

I haven't ran in

six years, Parker.

I mean, it,

it cleansed my spirit.

That's how I feel

about painting, Danny.

Yeah?

Yeah, it's like I feel

connected, you know?

Yeah.

(SLOW GUITAR MUSIC)

PARKER:
It's beautiful, Danny.

Thanks.

Thank you.

I have lyrics to it.

Sing it.

No.

PARKER:
Come on.

No, I can't sing.

PARKER:
Yes, you can.

No, I cannot.

PARKER:
I've heard it.

DANNY:
When?

In the shower.

Sh*t.

(PARKER LAUGHS)

I will, just let me practice it.

So I've been going to the

homeless shelter a lot lately.

DANNY:
Yeah, I know.

You should come.

It's depressing.

Might give you some perspective.

DANNY:
On what?

That your life

isn't that depressing.

I never said it was.

Are you still fighting?

Am I gonna see you at

the gallery tonight?

Of course, I

would not miss that.

PARKER:
I gotta go meet Janice.

Okay.

(SLOW GUITAR MUSIC)

One beer, I can do one

beer and then I gotta go.

Why?

DANNY:
I got sh*t to do, man.

ROBBY:
Like what?

I got Parker's show tonight.

Oh my god, of course.

I can't miss it, man.

What's up?

Nothing.

You got that look, Rob.

I just haven't seen

you at all lately

and now guess who

your substitute is?

Jack, Jack.

I mean, what the f***?

I don't know.

Trying to reevaluate, man.

Like I was reading

somewhere that Colorado

accepts walk-ons for

their track team.

That'd be cool.

(SLOW ROCK MUSIC)

Yeah, we'll see, man.

Feels like I'm losing a brother.

Yeah, dude, I love her.

F*** that.

Shut up, dude, I love her, man.

No, you don't.

Dude, shut up.

I just don't want

you to get webbed.

DANNY:
I'm fine, man.

What, I love her, man.

Like, she completes me, dude.

She's like my other half,

you know what I'm saying?

ROBBY:
Woah, watch it crackhead.

DANNY:
Dude, that's actually a meth head.

ROBBY:
F*** that sh*t.

Those guys are

f***ing crazy, dude.

F***ing meth.

Robby, stop.

Just don't do it, Robby.

Is this your first time, dude?

Meth, not even once.

METH HEAD:
F***.

(GLASS BREAKING)

(MEN GRUNTING)

(HEAVY THUDS)

F***.

(DANNY GRUNTS)

Robby, get the f***

up, dude, come on.

(SOFT PIANO MUSIC)
