White Elephant Page #6

Synopsis: The "Villa Virgin", a shantytown in the slums of Buenos Aires. Julian and Nicolas, two priests and long-standing friends, work tirelessly to help the local people. Julian uses his political connections to oversee the construction of a hospital. Nicolas joins him following the failure of a project he was leading in the jungle, after paramilitary forces assassinated members of the community. Deeply troubled, he finds a little comfort in Luciana, a young, attractive, atheist social worker. As Nicolas' faith weakens, tension and violence between the slum drug dealing cartels grow. And when work on the hospital is halted by ministerial decree, the fuse is lit...

Don't mind the cops!

We are staying anyway!

We have the right

to a house of our own!

The locals are occupying the lot,

there's going to be trouble.

It's not just the locals.

They are being manipulated

by the agents

- of certain politica factions.

- Whatever.

But the locals are there too.

And they are even more.

Do you think they're all bought off?

No, but many are being exploited

to serve political agendas.

Do you want us to be in favor

of a violent takeover?

What I'm saying is that we need

to get more involved!

We are not politicians, Julin.

In a situation like this one,

we must be more than priests.

Let me be clear,

you function within a structure...

And if you are here it's because

you care about my input...

And if you don't,

I'll give it to you anyway.

Come on everybody!

We have to keep them out!

Come on!

- Come on everybody!

- Run!

Come on! Come on!

Close the doors!

Come on everybody!

Run! Run!

Hold the entrance!

We're going to kill you,

motherfuckers!

You are in unlawful occupation

of the grounds

If you don't leave we will be forced

to make you leavel

These grounds are about to be

evicted by public forces.

Motherfucking pigs!

Please move out in peace...

This sons of b*tches

are going down!

Let the town councilors know

I'll be with them in a minute.

We'd better kill these pigs!

We'd better kill these pigs!

One right here,

another one over the fence...

Sons of b*tches!

Motherfuckers!

Motherfuckers! Stop it!

There are kids here!

Enough! Stop!

Come on, come on!

Luciana!

Stop it!

Please!

Enough! Stop it!

- Go inside!

- Luciana!

Come with me!

Watch out!

- Stop, you sons of b*tches!

- Motherfuckers!

Everyone go to the chape!

Come!

Press this on the wound...

Easy... Okay?

Does it hurt?

Don't move it.

Clean it.

Let me see that face...

It's peroxide.

Clean that wound.

Where is Lisandro?

He went to get some stuff

and he's not back yet.

Do you need something?

Just some gauze.

Here. Clean it with this.

Julin! He's been shot!

What happened?

- What is it, Monito?

- They shot him!

- They want to kill me!

- Stay calm!

- Put your leg here!

- Don't touch it!

- What happened?

- Let me see!

- Don't touch it!

- I need to see.

Gently. Breathe slowly.

Calm down.

- We need to take him to the hospital.

- He's been hit.

- There's too much blood.

- Yes.

- Who can get the car?

- I'll go.

- It hurts, Father!

- Calm down. What happened?

- Tell him, Monito...

- Shut up!

You need to tell me.

Look at me.

- What is it?

- I killed the cop...

who worked for you.

Do you get it?

They are after me, Father!

- We need to get him out of here.

- It's ready! Let's go. Come.

- Let's go. Come.

- It hurts!

Stand up. Don't shout.

- Help me, Father...

- Keep it down!

- Will you take him?

- Yes. Stay here with Lisandro.

- You stay with me.

- Be quiet!

- Check there's no one out there.

- Okay.

Come with me. Keep calm.

- Take care.

- You too.

Get in there.

Keep calm.

Hurry up, Father! Help me!

It hurts!

Relax. It's okay.

Help me, Father!

It hurts!

Shut up! I'm getting you out of here.

Those sons of b*tches

are the ones that want to kill me!

- Give it to me!

- Don't take it away from me!

- Where did you get that?

- It hurts!

- Leave it on the floor!

- How much more, Father?

- Stay put!

Quiet. Calm down.

We need to get out of here.

- Yes. I know.

- What do we do?

- Let me think!

- What do we do?

I'm scared, Father!

- You stay here.

- Help me!

- Evening, Father!

- Good evening!

- This is a raid...

- What?

- I'm telling you this is a raid.

- Okay. What do you need?

- I'm looking for a boy.

- Who?

- You know well who, Father!

- No.

- Who is in the car?

- Father Nicolas.

Ask him to step down. Get out.

- What for...

- I said get off the car!

- But...

- Get off! Is it so hard to get?

Get down for a minute, please...

- Tell me what is the problem...

- We are going to search the car.

Can you move,

so I can check the car?

- What for?

- I'm just doing my job.

- Freeze, you f***ing brat!

- Don't! Please don't!

- Freeze or I'll shoot!

- Please don't!
