INT. CENTER OF ARENA-DAY

Bryan and Veronica watch as two helicopters (one medic and the other one, military) land inside the arena.

The medics take Veronica with them, leaving Bryan to face JIM PETERSON, who’s the main game maker.

JIM:

Congratulations on your win.

BRYAN:

Thank you.

As Bryan begins to turn away, he notices a knife being held behind Jim’s back.

Bryan pretends not to notice.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

Get me onto the helicopter right now.

JIM:

But are you sure that you don’t want to answer any of the reporters’ questions?

BRYAN:

(Coldly)

I’ll answer them later.

Jim eyes Bryan suspiciously and the military officers escort him into the military helicopter.

The helicopter begins to rise above the ground.

EXT. ARENA-DAY

With the roof to the arena now being open, the helicopter exits the arena.

EXT. MIAMI-HOUSE-DAY-THREE MONTHS LATER

A small, one-story house sits among others in an ordinary neighborhood.

It looks identical to almost all the other houses.

INT. LOS ANGELES-HOUSE-DAY

Bryan watches something on television.

Someone knocks on his door, and he gets off his couch, looking perplexed.

He then travels to his door very nervously. Is he in trouble again?

BRYAN:

(To himself) What in the world?

Military trucks are parked in front of his house. GENERAL MATTHEW TAYLOR stands outside the door.

Bryan opens the door slowly and he peers out.

MATTHEW:

Hello, are you by any chance, BRYAN EDWARDS?

BRYAN:

Yes, I am. What’s going on here? Do you want to come inside?

MATTHEW:

(Shakes his head)

No. That won’t be necessary.

Matthew smiles at Bryan kindly.

BRYAN:

Ok..so, what’s up?

MATTHEW:

I was just sent by the president to deliver you a message. (Pauses and winks at Bryan) And I think you’ll like it.

BRYAN:

Alright.

MATTHEW:

Well, first of all, we’ve just apprehended Jim Peterson, who appears to be the real killer in your case.

BRYAN:

Are you serious?

MATTHEW:

Yes. We arrested him yesterday and I have been told to tell you that you have been rewarded for not only your false imprisonment but also for your horrendous day inside the arena.

BRYAN:

(Doesn’t know what to say) Oh, thank you.

MATTHEW:

You’ll be taking $7 million. And don’t worry, you’ll be shown to your vault.

Bryan looks like he’s about to collapse, and the general simply pats him on the shoulder.

MATTHEW (CONT'D)

Well, it’s time for me to go.

And Matthew leaves.

Bryan stands at the front of his house, looking absolutely shocked.

EXT. LOS ANGELES-HOUSE-DAY

Veronica stands outside of the house and watches as Bryan enters the driveway inside a shiny, red corvette.

As soon as Bryan exits his new car, he greets her.

BRYAN:

Hello there.

Veronica cries then runs to him. The two embrace.

BRYAN (CONT'D)

You know that I’m innocent?

VERONICA:

Yes. It was on the news.

BRYAN:

Well, with that, let’s head inside.

Veronica smiles and both she and Bryan head inside her house. Bryan shuts the door behind him.

EXT. NEIGHBORHOOD-DAY

The camera zooms out of the neighborhood.

FADE OUT.
