He tied me to the bed.

301

00:
23:26,078 -- 00:23:29,115

He took his time. Six hours.

302

00:
23:34,038 -- 00:23:35,790

My God.

303

00:
23:38,758 -- 00:23:40,350

Was he...

304

00:
23:41,518 -- 00:23:43,429

Did they get this guy?

305

00:
23:44,118 -- 00:23:45,437

No.

306

00:
23:48,358 -- 00:23:50,826

Actually, it was a boyfriend of mine.

307

00:
23:53,198 -- 00:23:56,110

To tell you the truth,

I slept through most of it.

308

00:
23:58,198 -- 00:24:00,871

So there you are.

309

00:
24:03,438 -- 00:24:04,917

[PHONE RINGING]

310

00:
24:28,598 -- 00:24:30,953

[PHONE STOPS RINGING]

311

00:
24:34,718 -- 00:24:37,516

You wanna get some coffee?

I feel like getting out of here.

312

00:
24:37,678 -- 00:24:40,954

Absolutely.

Say, is there a place open this late?

313

00:
24:41,318 -- 00:24:43,388

Sure, it's not even 2 yet.

314

00:
25:06,118 -- 00:25:07,267

[BANGING]

315

00:
25:09,958 -- 00:25:11,311

- Ready?

- Uh-huh.

316

00:
25:29,038 -- 00:25:32,508

Can I ask you something?

I've wanted to ask you this all night.

317

00:
25:32,998 -- 00:25:35,831

- Who's Franklin?

- Franklin?

318

00:
25:37,158 -- 00:25:39,069

Franklin is my husband.

319

00:
25:40,078 -- 00:25:41,477

Really.

320

00:
25:44,638 -- 00:25:46,947

Is that his loft, then?

321

00:
25:47,758 -- 00:25:49,237

He owns it, yes.

322

00:
25:52,878 -- 00:25:56,507

- Do you live with him?

- No. He's in Turkey.

323

00:
25:58,798 -- 00:26:02,837

I stayed with my husband for three days.

I was very young when I got married.

324

00:
26:03,878 -- 00:26:05,834

My husband was a movie freak.

325

00:
26:06,878 -- 00:26:11,269

Actually, he was particularly obsessed

with one movie:

326

00:
26:12,278 -- 00:26:13,836

iThe Wizard of Oz./i

327

00:
26:14,598 -- 00:26:16,475

He talked about it constantly.

328

00:
26:16,758 -- 00:26:18,669

I thought it was cute at first.

329

00:
26:21,198 -- 00:26:24,554

On our wedding night, I was a virgin.

330

00:
26:25,998 -- 00:26:28,432

When we made love...

You've seen the film, haven't you?

331

00:
26:28,638 -- 00:26:30,629

iThe Wizard of Oz?/i Yeah, I've seen it.

332

00:
26:31,598 -- 00:26:34,066

Well, when we made love...

333

00:
26:34,598 -- 00:26:36,156

...whenever he...

334

00:
26:36,318 -- 00:26:38,195

...you know, when he came...

335

00:
26:38,398 -- 00:26:39,990

...he would just...

336

00:
26:40,438 -- 00:26:43,271

...scream out "Surrender Dorothy!"

337

00:
26:43,918 -- 00:26:48,514

- That's all. Just "Surrender Dorothy!"

- Wow.

338

00:
26:48,718 -- 00:26:52,916

I know. Instead of moaning or saying

"Oh, God" or something normal like that.

339

00:
26:53,118 -- 00:26:57,236

I mean, it was pretty creepy.

And I told him I thought so...

340

00:
26:57,398 -- 00:27:02,028

...but he just couldn't stop.

He just couldn't stop.

341

00:
27:04,158 -- 00:27:05,432

He...

342

00:
27:07,078 -- 00:27:09,512

He said he didn't even realize

it was happening.

343

00:
27:09,678 -- 00:27:11,430

He just couldn't stop.

344

00:
27:11,598 -- 00:27:13,953

So I just broke the whole thing off.

345

00:
27:20,478 -- 00:27:21,957

I'm sorry.

346

00:
27:22,478 -- 00:27:25,197

I guess I'm really putting you

through the mill tonight.

347

00:
27:25,358 -- 00:27:27,314

It's okay. I'm used to it.

348

00:
27:28,958 -- 00:27:31,518

You know, I still love him very much.

349

00:
27:33,278 -- 00:27:35,917

In fact, we write each other

every day.

350

00:
27:37,718 -- 00:27:40,391

Naturally, I don't like to talk about it.

351

00:
27:43,558 -- 00:27:46,026

- Could we have the check?

- It's on the house.

352

00:
27:46,718 -- 00:27:48,197

- Really?

- Sure, what the hell.

353

00:
27:48,398 -- 00:27:51,834

Different rules apply this late,

know what I mean? It's like after-hours.

354

00:
27:53,518 -- 00:27:56,590

- Thanks, Peter.

- Sure, Marcy. Have a good evening.

355

00:
27:59,478 -- 00:28:00,831

[MARCY SPEAKS IN FRENCH]

356

00:
28:09,998 -- 00:28:14,389

[PIANO PLAYS]

357

00:
28:30,278 -- 00:28:35,557

[MARCY SOBBING]

358

00:
28:35,718 -- 00:28:38,073

- No...

- It's okay. It's...

359

00:
28:43,038 -- 00:28:44,790

Do you want me to go?

360

00:
28:48,758 -- 00:28:50,714

[THUNDERING]

361

00:
29:08,678 -- 00:29:10,157

MARCY:

The pill makes me sick.

362

00:
29:10,318 -- 00:29:13,037

KIKl:

Everything makes you sick, Marcy.

363

00:
29:16,558 -- 00:29:18,389

MARCY:

The guys gave it to me.

364

00:
29:24,798 -- 00:29:26,470

Oh, my...

365

00:
29:28,798 -- 00:29:31,870

God! Oh...

366

00:
29:43,918 -- 00:29:45,317

Well...

367

00:
29:45,478 -- 00:29:47,150

...here we are.

368

00:
29:57,038 -- 00:30:00,110

- So how about that joint?

- Yeah.

369

00:
30:01,278 -- 00:30:02,996

- Good idea.

- Great.

370

00:
30:32,798 -- 00:30:34,470

What type of pot is this?

371

00:
30:35,478 -- 00:30:36,957

It's Colombian.

372

00:
30:38,198 -- 00:30:40,837

- That's a lie.

- What?

373

00:
30:41,878 -- 00:30:44,836

This isn't Colombian.

I don't even think it's pot.

374

00:
30:46,678 -- 00:30:48,509

The guy who sold it to me

said it was.

375

00:
30:48,678 -- 00:30:52,671

Well, the guy who sold it to you is a liar.

So are you. That's sh*t.

376

00:
30:54,318 -- 00:30:56,991

Don't get upset.

I just won't buy it from him anymore.

377

00:
30:57,398 -- 00:30:58,877

That's horseshit.

378

00:
30:59,878 -- 00:31:01,152

Are you all right?

379

00:
31:01,318 -- 00:31:03,752

Where are those plaster-of-Paris

paperweights, anyway?

380

00:
31:03,918 -- 00:31:05,829

I mean, that's what

I came down here for.

381

00:
31:05,998 -- 00:31:08,034

That's not entirely true.

I came to see you...

382

00:
31:08,198 -- 00:31:11,235

...but where are the paperweights?

That's what I wanna see now.

383

00:
31:12,638 -- 00:31:15,516

- What's the matter?

- I said, I wanna see a plaster-of-Paris...

384

00:
31:15,678 -- 00:31:18,397

...bagel and cream cheese paperweight.

Now, cough it up.

385

00:
31:18,638 -- 00:31:20,788

- Right now?

- Yes, right now.

386

00:
31:21,758 -- 00:31:23,157

They're in Kiki's bedroom.

387

00:
31:23,318 -- 00:31:25,707

Then get them.

Because as we sit here chatting...

388

00:
31:25,878 -- 00:31:28,187

...there are papers flying

around my apartment...

389

00:
31:28,358 -- 00:31:31,111

...because I don't have anything

to hold them down with.

390

00:
31:32,358 -- 00:31:33,757

Fine.

391

00:
31:36,878 -- 00:31:38,914

[MARCY SOBBING]

392

00:
31:39,078 -- 00:31:40,796

MARCY:

I don't know, Kiki.

393

00:
31:46,678 -- 00:31:48,555

KIKl:

Sorry about that.

394

00:
31:48,878 -- 00:31:49,867

[MARCY SCREAMS]

395

00:
32:09,278 -- 00:32:12,156

- It's really coming down, huh?

- You bet.

396

00:
32:12,998 -- 00:32:15,387

- Here you go.

- The fare is a dollar and a half.

397

00:
32:15,598 -- 00:32:19,671

- What?

- Fare went up to $ 1.50 as of midnight.

398

00:
32:21,118 -- 00:32:22,790

You're kidding.

399

00:
32:24,638 -- 00:32:25,991

Look...

Joseph Minion

Joseph Minion (born 1957 in Teaneck, New Jersey) is an American film director and screenwriter, best known for Martin Scorsese's After Hours (1985). Born in New Jersey in 1957, Minion briefly attended NYU Film School before finishing his studies at Columbia University, then renowned for its screenwriting program. In 1984, Minion's script for After Hours was optioned by Griffin Dunne and Amy Robinson, the latter a former actress who'd appeared as Harvey Keitel's damaged girlfriend in Scorsese's Mean Streets (1973). Robinson sent Minion's screenplay to Scorsese, whose Last Temptation of Christ had recently fallen through; production on After Hours started shortly afterward. Later, it surfaced that Minion had plagiarized portions of After Hours from radio host Joe Frank, who sued and settled for an undisclosed sum.Minion continued his screenwriting career with 1987's Julia and Julia starring Kathleen Turner; 1989's Vampire's Kiss, starring Nicolas Cage; Motorama (1991); and On the Run (1999). He also worked again with Martin Scorsese in 1986 for an episode of Amazing Stories, "Mirror, Mirror".As a director, Minion made his debut for producer Roger Corman with 1987's Daddy's Boys, said to have been thrown together at the last minute to make use of standing sets for Big Bad Mama II. His last outing as director was for another low-budget feature, Trafficking (1999). more…
