EXT. BADER’S ROOM DRAWN IN NOTEBOOK STYLE - DAY

BADER, age 11, stands in the floor , holding his green journal and speaking directly to the camera.

BADER:
"My life hasn't been easy. Every day, I have to face Tashi Anderson, the girl who bullies me. But today, she went too far."

FADE IN:

EXT. SCHOOLYARD - DAY

Bader is sitting on a bench in the schoolyard, looking down and dejected. Tashi approaches him, surrounded by her friends.

TASHI:
"Hey there, loser. You ready for another day of being tormented?"

bader looks up, defeated.

BADER:
"Leave me alone, Tashi. I don't want any trouble."

TASHI:
"Too bad, because I'm in the mood to embarrass you in front of everyone."

She smirks and begins to loudly mock Bader. The other kids around them start to laugh.

BADER:
(getting angry) "That's enough! I'm sick and tired of you always messing with me!"

Bader rushes up to the nearby podium, starts yelling and screaming.

BADER:
"I am done with being bullied and ridiculed by you, Tashi! This is the final straw!"

Bader jumps off the stage, tackles Tashi.

Annie and Caleb, bader’s babysitters, and his older brother Slim Z are watching the scene, shocked.

ANNIE:
"Oh no, Bader! That was totally uncalled for!"

CALEB:
"I can't believe you would do something like that."

SLIM Z:
"That was hilarious! I wish I had been there to see it."

As bader lays on the ground, the scene shifts to his voiceover.

BADER:
"That was the moment I realized that I hated school. I hated the bullies, I hated the teachers, and most of all, I hated myself. But even in that dark moment, I knew that I had to keep going. Because giving up would mean that the bullies had won."

FADE OUT.

FADE IN:

INT. BADER'S BEDROOM - DAY

Bader (11), sitting at his desk, with his journal open, writes in it.

BADER:
(voiceover) They say the pen is mightier than the sword. Whoever said that, was right.

Bader looks up with a serious look.

BADER:
(voiceover) Because, the words written in this journal are the only things keeping me from going insane.

Suddenly, the screen turns to animation.

INT. KINDERGARTEN - DAY

Bader and Tashi (6) are seen playing in the sandbox. Tashi takes the toy shovel from Bader's hand.

BADER:
Hey! Give it back!

TASHI:
No, it's mine now.

BADER:
C'mon, Tashi. Give it back.

TASHI:
Nope. (sticks out tongue and runs away)

Suddenly, the animation fades out, and we return to the real world.

INT. BADER'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS

Bader sits back in his chair, puts down his pen, and sighs.

BADER:
(voiceover) Tashi and I have been rivals since Kindergarten.

Bader turns to see Everleigh (11) and Caleb (12) coming in with a bag of popcorn.

CALEB:
Hey Bader! Whatchu doin'?

BADER:
Just writing in my journal.

EVERLEIGH:
C'mon, let's watch something.

Everleigh and Caleb sit on the bed. Bader grabs his journal and joins them.

CUT TO:

ANIMATED INT. ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - DAY

Bader and Tashi (10) are seen walking down the hallway. Tashi pushes Bader into the lockers.

BADER:
Ow! What was that for?

TASHI:
Because you're a loser.

BADER:
Am not!

TASHI:
Are too!

Bader, with a shocked face, looks up to see Tashi's name on the class president poster on the wall.

ANIMATED INT. BADER'S BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS

Bader looks at the poster with a furious look.

BADER:
(voiceover) And now, she's about to be the class president. This just makes it worse.

Everleigh and Caleb look at Bader with concern.

CALEB:
Don't worry, Bro. We'll make sure she doesn't get away with bullying you.

EVERLEIGH:
Yeah, we'll help you with whatever you need.

BADER:
Thanks, guys. I don't know what I'd do without you.

Bader closes his journal,

INT. SCHOOL - DAY

Mr. Winsky is announcing the winner of the school elections.

MR. WINSKY:
And the winner is… Tashi Anderson!

The students BOO loudly, except for Tashi’s monkey-slaved friends.

Bader gets mad and confronts Tashi.

BADER:
Hey, Tashi! You’re just a butt wipe. Yeah, you heard me. I don’t care anymore. This means war!

Bader’s classmates and friends cheer in agreement.

CUT TO:

EXT. SCHOOL - DAY (A FEW DAYS LATER)

It’s raining heavily as Bader and his team wear army outfits and are taking cover in the school’s playground.

EVERLEIGH:
(to Bader)What’s the plan, Bader?

BADER:
We need to sneak into Tashi’s classroom and get her diary. Once we have it, we can expose all her secrets and take her down!

CALEB R:
But how are we going to get there without being seen?

ANNIE:
I have an idea. We can use the monkey-sleeved friends as a distraction. They will cause chaos while we make our move.

SHAIKHA:
(to Caleb)I want to help too!

CALEB:
(to shaikha)Sure! You can stay with us and be our lookout.

As they prepare to execute their plan, they hear a loud announcement over the school’s PA system.

TASHI:
(V.O.)Listen up, losers! You think you can mess with me? Think again. I have a surprise for you.

Suddenly, the school’s entrance gate opens, and a wave of students wearing Tashi’s monkey-sleeve jackets storm in.

EVERLEIGH:
Oh, no! They’re too many of them!

Bader looks at his team, determined not to back down.

BADER:
We can’t let them stop us! It’s now or never!

As Bader and his team gear up for the final battle, the scene ends

Next, we see Tashi punching Bader in the face while they are at school.

BADER (voiceover): “Tashi has made my life a living hell. She beats me up every day, and nothing can keep her away from it.”

Finally, we see Bader and Tashi engaged in a physical fight in the cafeteria, while the rest of the students chant “fight fight.”

The principal calls in Annie Baltic and Caleb Reynolds, Bader’s babysitters. They are told that Bader is suspended.

CALEB REYNOLDS:

We are very disappointed in you.

annie interrupts Caleb.

ANNIE:
no we’re mad at you

CALEB REYNOLDS:
Exactly, we're mad at you you need a time out.

Annie Baltic interrupts Caleb.

ANNIE BALTIC:
No, you're grounded.

CALEB REYNOLDS:
Yes, grounded for two days?

Annie Baltic replies.

ANNIE BALTIC:
Weeks!

CALEB REYNOLDS:
Weeks!! You're grounded for three weeks.

Annie Baltic yells at Bader.

ANNIE BALTIC; (yelling)Now go to your room and think about what you have done.

Bader runs to his room and starts to cry. Everleigh Labrant and Caleb Johnston try to comfort him.

EVERLEIGH LABRANT:It's okay, Bader. We're here for you.

CALEB JOHNSTON:
We'll get through this together.

BADER:
(sobbing) This is so unfair! Tashi bullies me every day, and nobody cares! But when I defend myself, I get punished! It’s not fair!
