Bader takes his anger out on his room, throwing things and knocking over furniture. Finally, exhausted, he collapses onto the floor and stares at his green journal.

BADER:
(whispering) I wish I could talk to someone about this. Someone who would listen and understand.

INT. BADER’S HOUSE - DAY (THREE WEEKS LATER)

Bader walks into the living room, looking contrite.

BADER:
(quietly) Annie, Caleb, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have hit Tashi, even though she was being mean to me.

ANNIE:
(smiling) We know, Bader. And we forgive you. (to Caleb) Right, Caleb?

CALEB:
(nodding) Right. But you still have to finish your punishment.

BADER:
(nodding) I know. And I will. (hesitates) Can we talk about something else now?

EVERLEIGH:
(brightly) Sure! Who wants to watch a movie? I brought popcorn!

Bader smiles, grateful for his friends and the chance to start over.

FADE IN:

INT. BADER'S BEDROOM DRAWN IN NOTEBOOK STYLE— DAY

BADER, age 11, sits on his bed in his notebook-style room, looking directly at the camera.

BADER:

(To the audience)

So, that's how it all went down. Tashi got what she wanted, but lost what was really important.

EVERLEIGH, age 11, and CALEB JOHNSTON, age 12, enter the room.

EVERLEIGH:

(Excitedly)

Bader, we did it! We got the evidence to prove that Tashi cheated in the election!

CALEB JOHNSTON:

(Smiling)

Yeah, and the principal just announced that there will be a new election with fair rules.

BADER:

(Surprised)

Wow, I didn't expect that. But I'm glad justice is served.

ANNIE BALTIC, age 24, and CALEB REYNOLDS, age 25, enter the room with SHAIKHA, age 3, in her arms.

ANNIE BALTIC:

(Laughing)

Looks like you have a new fan, Bader. Shaikha wouldn't stop talking about her hero who stood up to the bully.

BADER:

(Smiling, looking at Shaikha)

Well, I learned a valuable lesson. It's not about winning, it's about doing what's right.

EVERLEIGH:

(Nodding)

And having true friends who support you no matter what.

CALEB JOHNSTON:

(Smiling)

Exactly. You're our hero too, Bader.

BADER:

(Smiling widely)

Thanks, guys. I couldn't have done it without you.

FADE OUT.
