A STEP BACK. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

THIS IS MY SISTER. I'VE GOT TO LOOK FOR HER. WELL, THINK DOWN THE LINE. IF THIS GOES TO COURT,

THERE'S LEGAL ISSUES. ANY EVIDENCE YOU TOUCH

COULD BE TAINTED. OKAY. I'LL KEEP MY DISTANCE. WYNN DOES ALL THE QUESTIONING. NOTHING COMPROMISED. GO. YEAH, THIS IS METCALF. GIVE ME AN ALL-POINTS

ANY MINUTE, AND WHEN HE DOES,

WE'LL PACK UP AND START OVER. YOU'RE LEAVING? OH, I NEED TO FEED HER

RIGHT NOW, DAD. DO YOU MIND? OH. OH, EXCUSE ME. HI, IT'S ME. CALL ME BACK

AS SOON AS YOU GET THIS. I WANT YOU TO MEET YOUR BABY. [KNOCK ON DOOR] HI, DONNA. HI. THANKS FOR COMING. HAVE THEY CAUGHT HIM? NO. WHERE'S CARRIE? SHE'S STILL OUT THERE,

LOOKING. WHERE'S MY DAUGHTER? I DON'T KNOW. [] [CAR DOORS SLAM] MOM... HEY. I CAME AS SOON AS I HEARD

YOU WERE IN TOWN. DID SCOTT FILL YOU IN? YEAH, YEAH. WHAT'S THIS DAVIS PERSON

DONE WITH HER? I DON'T KNOW. THEY FOUND HER HANDKERCHIEF

OUT BEHIND HIS PLACE. HE WAS TRYING TO BURN I TO GET RID OF IT. AND HE'S OUT THERE SOMEWHERE. WE'RE GOING TO

GET HIM, THOUGH. WE'RE GOING TO

GET HIM SOON. WHAT'S "SOON"? SOON. YOU DO WHAT YOU DO. THANK YOU. ANYTHING NEW?

NO... BUT WE HAVE VOLUNTEERS

OUT SEARCHING FOR HER. MOM, LET ME HELP YOU WITH THIS--

NO, NO. IT'S ALL UNDER CONTROL. YOU REALLY SHOULD JUST RELAX. I CAN HANDLE IT. OKAY. ALL RIGHT. OKAY. [SIGHS] ARE YOU GUYS HUNGRY? NO. ACTUALLY,

I'VE GOT TO... I'VE GOT TO GET BACK TO WORK,

SO... WHAT IF YOU CAN'T FIND HER? DON'T SAY THAT.

I'LL FIND HER. OH, GOD! [DISHES SHATTER] ARE YOU OKAY?

YEAH. MOM...

I CAN HANDLE IT. MACKLIN. OKAY. I'M ON MY WAY. THEY JUST GOT A CALL

ABOUT AN INTRUDER IN A BARN. THAT COULD BE DAVIS,

SO I WILL KEEP YOU POSTED. ALL RIGHT, THANKS

FOR YOUR HELP. I'M JUST GOING TO

TAKE A LOOK AROUND. [CAR APPROACHES] BACKUP'S ON THEIR WAY. GOOD. IF HE'S IN THERE,

YOU SHOULDN'T BE. [CREAKING] [GUN CLATTERS] POLICE! STOP! [BELLOWS] [GRUNTS] WHERE IS MY SISTER? WHERE IS MY SISTER? WHERE IS SHE? I DON'T KNOW. WHY'D YOU RUN? KEEPS ME

IN SHAPE. WHY WERE YOU BURNING

YOUR CLOTHES? I GOT TIRED OF THEM. WHERE WERE YOU

LAST FRIDAY NIGHT BETWEEN 8:00

AND 10:
00? I DON'T KNOW. YOU'RE LYING! OH, YEAH, I WAS OUT OF TOWN. PROVE IT. AT A BAR

WITH SOME FRIENDS. AT THE SAND PIPER

IN HAMMERTON. A WOMAN'S MISSING HERE. A PREGNANT WOMAN. YOU MET HER LAST FRIDAY NIGHT,

AND NOW SHE'S MISSING. WE CAUGHT YOU

BURNING HER HANDKERCHIEF. I'M TELLING YOU, I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING

ABOUT HER BEING MISSING. I'M JUST TRYING

TO START A NEW LIFE. YOU'RE TELLING ME

A BUNCH OF LIES, DAVIS. YOU KNOW IT AND I KNOW IT, AND I AIN'T GOT TIME

FOR THIS KIND OF CRAP. I WANT SOME REAL ANSWERS

FROM YOU RIGHT NOW. RIGHT NOW! I WAS IN HAMMERTON... WHEN I SAW HER. WHEN YOU SAW WHO, HMM? ELYSSA CONWELL? WHO DID YOU SEE, DAVIS? I SAW A WOMAN. I FOLLOWED HER HOME. ALL I DID WAS WATCH HER, THOUGH. SHE SAW ME. I RAN. THAT'S WHY I BURNED MY CLOTHES. BECAUSE SHE SAW ME. WHAT THE HELL

DOES THIS HAVE TO DO WITH ELYSSA CONWELL? IT DOESN'T.

I'M TELLING YOU... LOOK, I WAS TWO TOWNS OVER. CHECK THE POLICE REPORT. I'M SURE THEY FILED IT. I WASN'T HURTING

ANYONE. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. IT WAS... IT'S AN URGE. IT'S... IT'S ALWAYS THERE. IT JUST HIDES. OKAY, IS SHE SURE

ABOUT THE TIME FRAME? OKAY. OKAY, WELL,

WE'RE WAITING FOR HER. BYE. THERE'S NOTHING

TO WORRY ABOUT, NO. WILL THEY BE ABLE

TO SEE ME? NO, NO. IT'S A TWO-WAY MIRROR. YOU CAN SEE THEM. THEY WON'T BE ABLE

TO SEE YOU. OKAY. [DOOR OPENS] THE ONE ON THE END. HE WAS WEARING A BLACK JACKE THAT NIGHT. NUMBER FIVE,

WILL YOU STEP FORWARD? NO NEED. IT'S HIM. YOU'RE SURE? IT'S SOMETHING

YOU DON'T FORGET. WE APPRECIATE

YOUR TIME, MA'AM. YOU CAN TAKE THEM OUT. SHE CALLED THE POLICE

IN HAMMERTON 10 TO 15 MINUTES

BEFORE SCOTT GOT HOME AND FOUND ELLE MISSING. THAT'S 23 MILES AWAY. DAMN IT. YOU GOT TO TALK TO SCOTT. WE'RE RUNNING OUT OF TIME. [WYNN]: SO YOU'RE SAYING THERE'S NOTHING ELSE

YOU CAN TELL US? [SCOTT]:

YOU GOT YOUR GUY. WHY ARE YOU EVEN

BOTHERING WITH ME? I'VE TOLD YOU THIS

A MILLION TIMES-- WE HAD NO PROBLEMS. JUST THE USUAL MARRIED STUFF. BILLS, AND THE BABY

ON THE WAY. RIGHT. LOOK, THERE'S NOTHING MORE

I CAN REALLY SAY BECAUSE THERE'S NOTHING MORE

TO SAY. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME,

MR. CONWELL. I'LL SHOW MYSELF OUT. [DOOR OPENS] [DOOR CLOSES] WHY DID YOU

JUST TELL HIM THAT EVERYTHING

WAS FINE? I JUST MEAN THERE WAS NOTHING NOTEWORTHY. "NOTEWORTHY"? I DON'T SEE HOW

OUR MARITAL PROBLEMS-- [CELL PHONE RINGING] MY PERSONAL PROBLEMS... HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS. HELLO. NO, LOOK, I TOLD YOU. I DON'T WANT TO

TALK TO YOU, ALL RIGHT? [PHONE BEEPS] WHO WAS THAT? NO ONE. IT WAS JUST BUSINESS. WHAT BUSINESS IS GOING ON

AT 10:
00 AT NIGHT? BUSINESS. WHAT ARE YOU HIDING, SCOTT? I'M NOT HIDING ANYTHING. WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA. WAIT A MINUTE. COME ON. DON'T WALK AWAY FROM ME. I KEEP GOING

THROUGH THAT NIGHT OVER AND OVER AND OVER

IN MY HEAD. WHAT IF I HAD STAYED? WOULD THINGS HAVE HAPPENED

DIFFERENTLY IF I'D COME BACK EARLIER? I'VE GOT NOTHING TO GO ON HERE. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? AND HERE YOU ARE,

YOU'RE ACTUALLY HIDING SOMETHING FROM ME

ABOUT A CASE ABOUT YOUR WIFE

AND DAUGHTER. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? LOOK, DON'T PUT THIS OFF ON ME. YOU KNOW WHAT? YOU HAVE NOT CHANGED FROM THAT SAME

COCKY HIGH SCHOOL KID WHO COULDN' TELL THE TRUTH THEN, AND YOU OBVIOUSLY

CAN'T TELL THE TRUTH NOW. HE DIDN'T DO THIS, ANY MORE THAN YOU DID. MOM, YOU DON'T KNOW

WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. [DOOR SLAMS] WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT? WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING US? WHAT DO YOU MEAN, "US"? WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH DAVIS? HE HAS AN ALIBI. AND YOU BELIEVE HIM? THE MAN IS A LIAR. YES, HE IS, BUT NOT THIS TIME. SO YOU'VE GOT NOTHING. AS ALWAYS... YEAH, THANKS
