Synopsis: A naturally talented basketball player, Noah Cruise is determined to become a doctor using his basketball scholarship to UCLA pre-med, rather than succumb to the lure of former sports agent Vaughn and go for the NBA. His best friend, the buddy that took the fall for him and did the time for an assault charge, Tech, also an outstanding basketball player, has less lofty ambitions: he wants to get his GED and win an underground street ball game against his arrogant rival, Jewelz. Their lives change drastically when they both fall in love with two local girls, Vanessa Lilly and Eboni Jackson, and take fateful trip out to L.A. together.

00:
03:12,956 -- 00:03:16,448

- Good evening, sir.

- What's up, gorgeous? Thank you.

2

00:
03:21,231 -- 00:03:23,131

- Where are we at?

- A lot of action on Platinum.

3

00:
03:23,200 -- 00:03:25,725

Move the line.

I want to hold the pointspread.

4

00:
03:25,802 -- 00:03:28,202

All right, people, bring them up.

5

00:
03:38,048 -- 00:03:42,576

How many times did the Lakers

play against the Celtics in the finals?

6

00:
03:42,652 -- 00:03:43,744

Ten.

7

00:
03:46,256 -- 00:03:49,089

Which Knick became

a United States senator?

8

00:
03:50,694 -- 00:03:52,161

Bill Bradley.

9

00:
03:54,431 -- 00:03:56,763

Hold up. It's the money calling.

10

00:
03:59,102 -- 00:04:00,091

What it do?

11

00:
04:00,170 -- 00:04:03,105

Yo, Tech, it's on. Midnight.

12

00:
04:04,107 -- 00:04:05,870

Cool. I'll be there.

13

00:
04:16,753 -- 00:04:20,849

- Hey.

- Dawg, it's going down tonight at midnight.

14

00:
04:20,924 -- 00:04:24,087

Yo, man. I don't know about this.

15

00:
04:24,594 -- 00:04:26,858

Come on, man. What is there to know?

You promised.

16

00:
04:26,930 -- 00:04:28,522

I know I promised, man...

17

00:
04:28,598 -- 00:04:29,963

Look, you owe me, man.

18

00:
04:32,802 -- 00:04:34,167

You owe me.

19

00:
04:35,105 -- 00:04:37,369

All right. All right. I'll be there.

20

00:
04:37,440 -- 00:04:40,637

I'll see you there. Let's go.

21

00:
04:53,056 -- 00:04:56,492

Pay attention, y'all, something about

to delight you. Watch your heads!

22

00:
05:09,306 -- 00:05:10,967

Is that the money?

23

00:
05:12,809 -- 00:05:14,174

Let's roll.

24

00:
05:23,053 -- 00:05:25,021

Three grand on Platinum.

25

00:
05:32,128 -- 00:05:35,859

Come on, hurry up!

Yo, I don't want to miss Jewelz! Come on!

26

00:
06:06,062 -- 00:06:07,927

Three Gs on Platinum.

27

00:
06:34,357 -- 00:06:35,688

All right, listen to me.

28

00:
06:35,759 -- 00:06:38,728

I don't want you calling

every single foul this game, okay?

29

00:
06:38,795 -- 00:06:41,093

This is street ball, not the NBA.

30

00:
06:41,164 -- 00:06:42,256

- All right. I got you.

- All right.

31

00:
06:42,332 -- 00:06:43,663

All right.

32

00:
06:46,002 -- 00:06:50,462

What? Look at you. Come here, girl.

33

00:
06:53,143 -- 00:06:54,405

Was it hard to get away?

34

00:
06:54,477 -- 00:06:57,071

No. Being a partner of a law firm

has its perks.

35

00:
06:57,147 -- 00:07:01,811

Of course, it does. Look at you.

Look at you. Come here.

36

00:
07:02,318 -- 00:07:04,980

Damn. How is your mom?

37

00:
07:05,054 -- 00:07:09,013

She was surprised

that I came all this way to see you.

38

00:
07:09,559 -- 00:07:10,924

Of course.

39

00:
07:11,294 -- 00:07:14,991

So what happened to dinner

and a quiet evening in?

40

00:
07:15,064 -- 00:07:17,259

Well, I was thinking

that we could get dinner at my club.

41

00:
07:17,333 -- 00:07:20,097

But there's something

I really want to show you first.

42

00:
07:20,170 -- 00:07:23,037

- Okay.

- Right over there. Come on. Come on.

43

00:
07:29,679 -- 00:07:32,944

Yo. I'm sorry I'm late. My class ran late.

44

00:
07:34,517 -- 00:07:36,109

This is my man Cruise right here.

45

00:
07:36,186 -- 00:07:41,214

This is Stretch, Double A, Big Man,

and you know Up.

46

00:
07:41,291 -- 00:07:43,384

Hope you're worth the wait.

47

00:
07:44,227 -- 00:07:46,821

Oh, snap. Is this a new ride?

48

00:
07:46,896 -- 00:07:50,423

Oh, yeah. It's a graduation present

from my grandmother.

49

00:
07:50,900 -- 00:07:52,026

Well, let's do the damn thing.

50

00:
07:52,101 -- 00:07:54,296

- Yeah, come on.

- Oh, for sure.

51

00:
07:56,105 -- 00:07:58,630

I don't care what anybody says

about Jewelz.

52

00:
07:58,708 -- 00:08:00,505

- Yeah.

- This is our house tonight.

53

00:
08:00,577 -- 00:08:02,204

We got your back.

54

00:
08:03,246 -- 00:08:05,441

Enemy of the State, baby.

55

00:
08:08,351 -- 00:08:11,809

Double A! Double A! Right here, baby!

Here! Hustle down!

56

00:
08:12,622 -- 00:08:15,022

Hustle down! Open it up, Big man!

Get in the paint!

57

00:
08:15,091 -- 00:08:18,618

That's my boy right there!

That's my boy right there! That's Tech!

58

00:
08:18,695 -- 00:08:21,960

- Tech! Give Tech the ball, man!

- Cruise, I see you.

59

00:
08:24,501 -- 00:08:26,696

Split them, Tech! Split them!

60

00:
08:28,538 -- 00:08:30,529

Oh! New kid on the block!

61

00:
08:32,475 -- 00:08:35,069

- The man is good.

- Yes, I know.

62

00:
08:37,881 -- 00:08:40,145

Time to go to work.

Give them the business, baby.

63

00:
08:40,216 -- 00:08:43,151

Here you go I.V. Yeah. Let me see that thing.

64

00:
08:44,287 -- 00:08:47,051

- Okay. This isn't like the pros.

- No.

65

00:
08:47,190 -- 00:08:50,057

Oh, oh! Putting on a show!

Putting on a show!

66

00:
08:50,126 -- 00:08:51,684

What are the rules?

67

00:
08:51,761 -- 00:08:54,423

Okay. The name of the game is 21, by ones.

68

00:
08:54,497 -- 00:08:57,557

You get to 19,

your last shot is worth two, 21.

69

00:
08:58,902 -- 00:09:02,167

Well, what about fouls,

traveling, stuff like that?

70

00:
09:02,238 -- 00:09:05,139

This is street ball.

See, the players have a lot of leeway.

71

00:
09:05,208 -- 00:09:07,768

Maybe they can razzle-dazzle,

overhand palm,

72

00:
09:07,877 -- 00:09:11,074

but no four, five steps to the hole,

and no flagrant fouls.

73

00:
09:11,147 -- 00:09:14,583

If they foul, they forfeit the game.

If they fight, they forfeit the game.

74

00:
09:14,651 -- 00:09:18,018

And if they argue with any of my referees,

they forfeit the game.

75

00:
09:18,087 -- 00:09:20,578

Other than that, it's good, clean fun.

76

00:
09:22,358 -- 00:09:23,882

Dead ball! Dead ball!

77

00:
09:27,697 -- 00:09:29,790

I'm off to a good start on that ass!

78

00:
09:29,866 -- 00:09:31,094

Get off me!

79

00:
09:31,501 -- 00:09:32,763

Ball in!

80

00:
09:35,471 -- 00:09:37,439

- This is my house!

- Come get some of this, baby.

81

00:
09:37,507 -- 00:09:38,565

Throw it, Tech! Over here, man!

82

00:
09:38,641 -- 00:09:42,338

- I own this court, man! I own this.

- You got nothing, man.

83

00:
09:43,246 -- 00:09:47,080

- There it is!

- Yeah! That's what I'm talking about!

84

00:
09:47,150 -- 00:09:48,515

I got that.

85

00:
09:50,486 -- 00:09:52,920

What did I say, man?

Don't turn this into a thing.

86

00:
09:52,989 -- 00:09:54,786

Man, just 'cause you say it

don't make it right!

87

00:
09:54,857 -- 00:09:58,418

Now, I came to break him,

and he gonna be broke! Come on.

88

00:
09:58,628 -- 00:10:00,095

You got them, Tech.

89

00:
10:00,530 -- 00:10:04,398

My turn now, baby boy. Yeah. Yeah.

90

00:
10:13,376 -- 00:10:15,105

Oh, my God! The Violator!

91

00:
10:18,348 -- 00:10:19,747

Help me out!

92

00:
10:20,483 -- 00:10:21,711

Cruise!

93

00:
10:24,020 -- 00:10:26,079

I taught him everything

he knows right here, ref.

94

00:
10:39,202 -- 00:10:40,635

Yo, Tech, give it up.

95

00:
10:40,703 -- 00:10:42,603

- What, now?

- They got nothing.

96

00:
10:42,839 -- 00:10:45,137
