with a loser like me?

A bit melodramatic?

Eetu searching for K!

- K receiving

K. I'll come for a spin

But I won't have anything

to do with Mr. Ski

Nice shop.

- Why are you here?

Eetu asked me to come.

- Here?

Yup. Does it bother you?

Well. We're going for a spin.

- I know we are

He asked you to come along?

- I can leave, if you insist

That's not what I meant. Sure you can

come. We'll just have to take it easy

No need to hold back because of me

Congratulations on winning. Great ride.

- Thanks

Must be tough having to compete with

your best friend

- Hi!

K! Let's get charged.

- A good idea

I really hope Oona's not upset

She'll either come or she won't

I still don't get it,

you beat me in the race too easily

Did you notice, last fall I was in

the same shape as you're in now

I knew I was in top form

Yet I'd build up the lactics

way too easily

Especially when climbing

I started training differently

from the team

Started working on

my ability to recover

Regularly pushed myself

until the lactics were boiling

Then slowed down almost to a halt,

recovered, then back on the lactics

Intervals. Over and over again.

- Sounds extremely rough

It was, for months

Then suddenly a week ago-

a breakthrough!

I'd bring myself on lactics, and snap!

Shortly I was as good as new

That's why I won the race

When I charged on the last climb,

the guys from Kiffen couldn't respond

They had prepared for a steady round

OK. Back to babysitting

That buddy of yours,

he hates me, right?

A ridiculous idea.

- It's the only chance our team has

OK. On three conditions:

He'll race for you to win

I want to test him before the race

to see if he's any good

Neither of you blows the other's

chances. - It's a deal

Some program he's been on all spring!

If I'd used the same method,

I'd already be on the national team

You don't mind that your best friend

kept such a big secret from you?

He didn't dare tell me.

If I'd beat him once more-

he would have killed himself.

He takes it so seriously

It can be a good thing.

Taking things seriously

Eetu!

- Mercy!

Coach agreed we could train together

for the Nationals

I've quit.

- C'mon, cut it out

Are you sure he said it's OK.?

- He thought it was a great idea

But he wants you to race

for me to win

Maybe it would be a healthy change

Less pressure on me

Are you really going to start

dancing to that fascist's tune?

No one asked you!

- I'm gonna explode in three seconds!

Would we use your method?

- Lf you want

In that case, count me in

Off to bed early!

Heavy session tomorrow

Oona! Nice swimsuit

Is he a total moron?

- But it is a nice swimsuit

That guy is so full of himself

This is similar to the 25 route the

nationals will be raced on this year

Five km of ascending.

You'll do this four times

Sounds slack.

I thought we were using your method

O.K. Let's say eight times. Alone

Each round I'll join you on the climb

Drive me as hard as you can.

Like it's the Nationals

Ready for a road kill?

- We'll see about that

Go on, go on.

You're minute behind on this round

A bicycle with red forks,

and you can't move any faster

F*** you, city boy!

How's it going?

- Not bad

You came to chaperone?

- I'd prefer Eetu alive tonight

So you came to play nurse.

- Have a problem with cycling women?

My first childhood memory is

watching my mom win the nationals

I've seen cycling women before

Nice Sannino. Can you ride it?

I didn't spend five thousand

just to stare at men's thighs

We'll see about that soon

Don't waste strength on swaying

Start the backstroke sooner and

you won't have to lift so much

And switch to lighter gear.

- Hey, I don't need a coach

Damn! I was hoping I could

prepare you a program as well

You must be joking.

- But your body is perfect for cycling

I mean it. Your build is ideal.

- Is that just a professional remark?

210 km!

Have you ever

felt like this at a race?

Last year in Vaasa, remember?

On the last day of the stage race

12 m headwind.

I was a zombie afterwards

You should feel like this every time.

- I see

Can you make it home?

Yeah, but Oona and I had

planned to go kayaking tonight

Looks like I'm too weak

to hold a paddle

Did Eetu call you?

Yup. If he goes on with your method,

he'll soon be good for nothing

It's only temporary.

He'll soon be back on the ball

It's just that I booked us a kayak.

- I could fill in

I'll be fine on my own.

- No, no. I can come

Well. Why not.

- Where and what time?

At the rowing club, eight o'clock.

- I'll be there

Why are you reading a biology book?

- Got the entrance exam in July

It's just hard to find time for reading

Let's go

Keep up the pace.

- I am

You're using too much force

At the beginning focus on pacing

The strength comes years later

- Yeah, yeah

The stroke always starts in the small

of the back. Or lower. In the groin

Same as in cycling,

keep your body relaxed

Now you're telling me

how to cycle, as well?

Arms stretched out

Excellent

You lost it again. Concentrate.

- Don't tell me about concentration

Are all cyclists that stiff?

- For god's sakes, shut up!

Good. Now you got it.

- Yup. I've figured it out

One just has to synchronize

the strokes and the breathing

Hey, should we go out to the islands?

- Kind of far for a beginner

You think I'm not fit enough?

- No, but... sh*t, no!

What?

- A sailing boat!

Where?

- Directly behind us! Hurry!

Where to?

- Sh*t! It's coming straight towards us

I can't see it!

I can't see anything anywhere!

What was that?

- Sorry, I don't know what got into me

I'm sure a funny guy like you

can take a joke

I'm nothing compared to

a comedienne like you

My treat.

Hi. Two beers

There you are.

- Thank you

Beer. I shouldn't

One beer won't hurt

a sporty guy like you

Nervous about the date?

- You wouldn't call this a date?

I mean, aren't you seeing each other,

Eetu and you?

Ah well. We'll see what happens

He's a nice guy.

- Absolutely. Eetu's great

You have a girlfriend?

Have you had one?

- Mainly bad luck

You cycle really beautifully.

- Thank you

Such a beautiful night.

- I had a good time

Despite the killer boat?

- You handled it really well

Sweet dreams.

- For you, too

Hi there!

That was a long training session

Yup.

- How's coaching coming along?

Very well.

Eetu's really getting there

I had my doubts about Oona,

but she's turned out OK.

She's paced Eetu a few times.

- Oh, are they going steady?

Hard to say

So then she's free game?

She's not game.

She's... a human being

What if I sewed all three of you

some nice cycling shirts?

Silk and elegance.

Like we had in the old days

Why not, if you feel like it.

- I'd be happy to

What kind of a body does Oona have?

- A lot like yours, I guess

And breasts?

- They're there

But what size?

It's important with a cycling shirt

Haven't measured them! Average.

- Is she pretty?

Sort of. - An average girl

with average breast sounds promising
