At the back yard

Anna:
Hey dear

Terry:
Anna you are here, how are you this morning?

Anna:
I’m well and you too?

Terry:
As you can see, I’m fit (laughing)

Anna:
(Looking straight into Terry’s eyes) I have missed you. I missed have us. The good old days. Well I have missed all that

Terry:
(Looking into Anna’s eyes too) I have missed you too, is good I came at least we gotten to see each other’s one more time

Anna:
I really miss those days. How we use to do everything together, especially swimming. Don’t you miss that? Why are you doing this to us? (Caress him)

Terry:
(Trying to respond to Anna tune by sending your lips forward for a kiss)

Terry and Anna were about to kiss when Alisha appeared the scene

Alisha:
(Clear your throat and pretend as if you have seen nothing) I’m back

Terry:
I thought you were with mama, but why is your body so dirty like that?

Alisha:
Yes I went with mama but when I was about leaving I couldn’t find her so I came alone. But I couldn’t finish

Terry’s mum heard their voices from the room the room so she came out holding a cap of juice

Terry’s mum:
I never asked you to finish the whole plot. No Dear (smiling) come inside and freshen up cuz you look dirty

SCENE 18

The family was having dinner and after the dinner Alisha went to the room. She was using her phone whiles expecting Terry to come in, for a while Terry wasn’t coming in so she decided to go out and check on him only to realize that he was sitting outside having a chat with Anna

Anna:
As I was saying in the afternoon, I feel there was something growing in between us before you left or you didn’t notice that?

Terry:
I did but..

Anna:
you kept ignoring it, why?

Terry:
No, not that. Just wasn’t sure of what it is and I don’t like running conclusions and besides I wanted to secure a job first before I will talk of a having a woman

Anna:
So what now?

Terry:
I don’t know (laughing)

Both holding hands so tight whiles smiling

Narrator:
Alisha left for the room so disappointed because she couldn’t believe what she heard and as she was in the room trying to sleep, Terry’s mum came inside

Terry’s mum:
Aaarrhh our love are you sleeping already (in a sarcastic manner)

Alisha:
(sniffing)

Terry’s mum:
Are you crying? Did you get your heart broken? So sorry about that, I have being trying to tell you to read the writing on the wall but you just won’t listen

Alisha:
Mama with all due respect please I want to be left alone

Terry’s mum:
I want you to leave my son and my house, if you don’t know, ha-ha, anyway I was leaving but bear this in mind my son will never marry a witch like you.. Yes

Terry’s mum left the room. Alisha was still on the bed turning and tossing, trying to sleep until Terry came in

Alisha:
(Pretends to be sleeping)

Terry:
Babe you are already sleeping (kisses her forehead and lie beside her)

SCENE 19

DAY 3 @ THE VILLAGE

Morning came

Before Terry’s mum could wake up, Alisha was already done with sweeping of the compound and she was in the kitchen preparing breakfast when Terry’s mum got in

Terry’s mum:
Did you sleep at all today? You are up so early, hope is not what I am thinking? Hmm is well my dear

Alisha:
(Smile) Good morning mama. Hope you had a good night sleep?

Terry’s mum:
Oh sorry I didn’t greet when I came in, my bad. How is your heart now? (Laughing)

Alisha:
Mama I’m very fine

Terry’s mum:
Oh okay and where is my son?

Alisha:
He is in the room

Terry’s mum:
(leaves the kitchen)

Alisha:
(speaks to herself – I think this woman wants to feel the pain of my anger just wait for me, smiling)

Narrator:
Mama Terry went to terry’s room to check on him and find out the cause of the sudden mood swing. When she got to the room terry was up but he was just sitting on the bed

Terry’s mum:
Son is good you are up, eerrrrmmmm I want to find out something

Terry:
What’s the problem this time?

Terry’s mum:
What happened between you and your madam yester night because I can see that she is a different person now. She is just smiling like a mad person

Terry:
Mama, make me understand what you are trying to say, because she went to bed before me so we never did anything

Terry’s mum:
I see then why is she acting weird and looking all happy because yester night…..

Terry:
What happened in the night?

Terry’s mum:
Oh nothing (leave the room- whiles saying “you young people of today”

SCENE 20

In the evening, everyone was preparing for uncle ben’s birthday party which was going to be held in his house.

Terry’s mum:
Son hope you are prepared for your uncle’s day?

Terry:
Of course mum and Alisha and I will be rocking the same fabric

Terry’s mum:
But your uncles day is always for only men so why are you bring her along?

Alisha:
Can I ask you a question?

Terry’s mum:
(with an angry face) what is it?

Alisha:
If women are not allowed then why are you going?

Terry’s mum:
Remember you tried to kill him some few days back, so I need to go and check on how he is doing.

Alisha:
(looking at Terry’s mum with dismay) Mama I never did it intentional and I thought we have trashed this out already (leave her presence)

Terry:
Babe wait (follow Alisha)

Alisha:
You sit there and watch your mum tear me apart because of something I have no idea about

Terry:
I’m so sorry that has to happen once again, don’t worry she is just trying to let you stay and not come for the party but I promise we will go together okay, if not uncle himself will be disappointed

Alisha:
Listen honey, I know you love your mother very much and respect her but you need to let her know her limits, you are a man now. Sometimes you need to stand up to her unless you want to tell me you are a mummy’s boy and sorry I don’t deal with boys.

Terry:
Really?

Alisha:
(silent and watching elsewhere)
