SCENE 17

Conversation inside the hall

Terry’s mum:
Son I know you are angry but I didn’t want to bother you since it wasn’t that serious

Terry:
Angry? I’m totally mystified

Terry’s mum:
but this is Alisha’s fault, I mean the spices were too much in the food and his system does not like it. She nearly killed my only brother.

Terry:
No mother, please don’t bring Alisha into this, she never did it on purpose and besides she only came today, how was she going to know that Uncle Ben is sick.

Terry’s mum:
Who told you she is not aware? I made Anna to inform her not to add a lot of spices or Anna you never did (turning to Anna)

Anna:
Mum I told her not to

Terry:
Are you sure about that? Can I ask her?

Anna:
(with a shaking voice) Very sure

Terry:
I’m sorry but I don’t believe. Because there is no way Alisha could do such a thing. No.

Terry’s mum:
(sigh) hmmm I really don’t know what she might have done to you, but you need to open your eyes and see what we are seeing. She has bewitched you and you can’t see clearly anymore, just look at her hair, nails and how she speaks, that alone will tell you she is a witch and besides she is an old woman son, clearly older than you. Let her go whiles you concentrate on your Anna.

Terry:
Mother stop saying that, no matter what you say is still Alisha because I love her and I mean it and will you people excuse me , I will be in my room.(get up and go to your room)

Narrator:
Whiles the conversation was on going, Alisha over heard everything, so she went into the room packing her clothes and thinking of leaving that evening when Terry got in

In Terry’s room

Terry:
Alisha what’s the problem and where are you packing to this night?

Alisha:
Isn’t it obvious that your mummy does not like me or you want to tell me you haven’t noticed that?

Terry:
She is my mother I will talk to her but please stay, I’m so sorry all these things are happening in your presence

Alisha:
Since we came she has been on me like she knew me somewhere before I came here. Just allow me to go okay I’m pleading with you.

Terry:
Why are you making this difficult for me? I know perfectly well that you never did this intentional and I’m really sorry for everything but please don’t leave me

Alisha:
(stare at Terry) you have to trust me, I didn’t do it intentional

Terry:
Come on babe (kiss her forehead and hug her so tight) let’s stay and fight this together this you’ve always said to me thousand times. We have come a long way.

Alisha:
(Whisper into terry’s ear) I will stay

Narrator:
As they were trying to make up, Anna and terry’s mum were at the door ears dropping on their conversation but because they never heard the last part of the conversation, they were happy already because Alisha will be leaving soon

Anna & Terry’s Mum: (hug each other out of joy)

Anna:
Finally I can have my man to myself (smiling)

Terry’s mum:
I’m so happy dear. Can’t wait for her to get out of might sight

SCENE 17

DAY 2 @ THE VILLAGE

Morning came Alisha woke up by then Anna had come to sweep the compound and left. Terry’s mum was in the kitchen serving breakfast. Alisha got in.

Alisha:
Good morning mama

Terry’s mum:
Good Morning. Is 8 am and you are now up. As a woman you suppose to wake up 5am, Sweep, clean and make breakfast for your house. I have served everyone their breakfast except you since you weren’t up yet, so please check inside the sauce pan and serve yourself.

Alisha:
Okay mum, thank you (whiles you open the saucepan which was almost empty)

Terry’s Mum:
And please be fast about it because we will be going to the farm this morning

Alisha:
Are we going with Terry and Anna?

Terry’s Mum:
Just you and I

Alisha:
Okay (looking a bit sad)

Terry’s mum:
Why you have never been to the farm?

Alisha:
Oh is fine

After the breakfast, Terry’s mum and Alisha walked from the house to the farm which was quiet a distance, they looked exhausted upon getting to the farm.

SCENE 18

At the farm

Alisha:
Mum can we rest a little before we start any work here?

Terry’s mum:
Hehe, you must be tired already. When you finish resting you can start digging some holes on this portion when you are whiles I go and do same at the other side. The rain will be stopping soon so we want to do the planting of some few vegetables.

After some few minutes

Alisha:
(wake up and start digging)

Whiles Alisha thought she was on the farm with Terry’s mum, she left her there and went back to the house and was having a conversation with Anna on how to win Terry back.

Terry’s mum:
Anna if you say you love my son then this is the time to strike if not you will have to forget about him

Anna:
Mama I can try but how am I going to do that?

Terry’s Mum:
Let me tell you what to do. Just go to him and try talking to him about how you people use to live your lives happily before he left and you fell in love in the process and try caressing him and better still embrace him

Anna:
That sounds good but it will be hard. Anyway there is no harm in trying so I will do that. So where is he now? And where is Alisha too?

Terry’s mum:
I have taken Alisha to the farm and left her there whiles Terry is at the backyard

Anna:
That’s great then let me go and shoot my shot before she returns

Anna leaves for the backyard

But on the farm too Alisha was preparing to come home so she went to check on Terry’s mum but couldn’t find a clue of her so she started heading towards the house
