Dad

I didn’t say that to her?

Katherine

Dad, you don’t remember what you say to us.

Dad

I’be been trying to get better.

Katherine

I’m going to bed.

[she walks up to her room and goes to bed, she wakes up the next morning to her dad, we can still only see the back of his head]

Dad

Morning honey, it’s day one sober

Katherine

How many times are you going to get my hopes up, are you desperate or just idiodic.

Dad

Honey, are you alright? What happened?

[Katherine looks up in shame]

Dad

Are you still upset about yesterday? Listen I’m sorry, I overreacted, I shouldn’t have gotten physical. It won’t happen again.

Katherine

I’d like to believe that.

Dad

I love you, and I wish I could talk more, but I have to go to my appointment. I’ll be back in an hour. Talk more then?

Katherine

Alright, bye.

[He closes the door, and Katherine immediately runs to Kale's house and knocks on the door. He answers.]

Kale

Oh, hey

Katherine

I’m coming with you, but we have to leave now

Kale

Are you ok?

Katherine

Can we just leave

Kale

Ya, we were just packing right now. Hey Damien! Are you good to leave soon?! Katherines coming with us.

Damien

Yo remember what I spoke to you about yesterday? It’s too much of a risk for me if we bring her.

[Damien walks around the corner to see Katherine standing there in despair]

Katherine

Please Damien, I won’t tell anyone.

Damien

Katherine, I’m sorry but..

Katherine

You don’t have to stay with me, just please take me away from here.

Damien (Worried)

You know what, fine. If you really think this is the best option for you.

Katherine

Thank you so much, can we leave before my dad comes back?

Damien

Ya, you came just at the right time. Kale, you ready?

Kale

Yep

Damien

Alright let me just go grab my keys and phone then we’ll leave.

Katherine

Alright

(The three enter the car and get ready to leave)

Damien

Are you guys excited to go to Hollywood? I mean come on guys brighten up, this is hollywood we’re talking about, this is our shot out of society’s flaws.

Katherine

Ya, I’m excited. You have any good music for the road

Damien

Let me check my playlist

(Damien pulls out an iphone with spotify on it, showing the audience this is not the past/not rogers wife. He flips on Surf By Mac Miller, setting the tone as they drive off. The scene interrupts between their journey and Roger’s determined face behind the wheel, creating a rhythmic visual narrative for approximately a minute and a half. Eventually it ends with Roger parking his car at Katherines house. He steps out and walks into the house)

Roger

Honey, I’m back from my appointment. Honey? Are you here?

[As Roger searches the house for his daughter, the camera slowly zooms in on a photograph hanging on the wall. The beat of the song synchronizes with the moment, and with the bass drop, the truth is revealed-the photo reveals that Katherine is not his wife, but his daughter all along. The revelation leaves the audience in awe, redefining the character dynamics of Roger and setting the stage for an emotional storyline to unfold.]
