Karan Arjun Page #6

Synopsis: When Durga's husband speaks out against the tyrannical rule of his brother, Durjan Singh, he is mercilessly killed, and Durga and her two children, Karan and Arjun, are left destitute. Durga brings up her sons without informing them of their heritage nor of the death of their father, but they soon find out when the elder Thakur decides to invite Durga back into his household. This does not auger well with Durjan Singh, and he has the elder Thakur killed. When he finds out about Durga, he goes to end her life, but her sons spring up to defend her, only to get themselves killed. Alone, destitute more than ever, and devastated, Durga loses her mind, and prays to God to bring her sons back so that they can avenge her humiliation, and the death of their father. Seventeen years later, two youth re-enter her life, they do look like her sons, and are ready to take on Durjan Singh, but will they also meet the same fate as Karan, Arjun, and their father?

Karan and Arjun are in

his village. I saw them!

I have to give an answer for

this slap to the landlord.

Will you be able to say

this before the landlord?

Let alone the landlord,

I can say before everybody!

Irrespective of the dire consequences,

I won't shy from speaking the truth!

I mean it, when I say,

that I have seen Karan and Arjun.

- Then come with me!

- Where?

Did you fix an auspicious time

for Suraj and Sonia's wedding?

Yes. The auspicious time is

three days after 'Dassera'.

I will create such a sensation...

...That my son's marriage will

set an example... a history.

- Bless me, Sir.

- You have come again?

What did I get for my

honesty and veracity?

Betel leaf. Eat it.

Madam, he slapped me very hard

before the entire village.

I have also got hardcore evidence.

Not only me, even the villagers

have seen Karan and Arjun.

- Who, the villagers?

- He...

Blessings, landlord!

Get up!

What did you see?

See? What did I see?

Oh God!

Well-fed, strong and tall horses.

They were galloping.

Black, white, good and bad horses!

Horses in the stables!

Target practice in the stables!

Catapults in the stables!

In the stables...

How the bottles broke!

How targets would be

hit with catapults!

How Mogambo galloped!

Mogambo was amazing, sir!

Why are you screaming?

He told me that you

are hard of hearing.

- When did I say so?

- Hadn't you said so at the door?

You have not said what

I brought you here to say.

About Karan and Arjun...

What did you say? Nothing!

Tell him about Karan and Arjun!

- Who are Karan and Arjun?

- You'll have me killed!

You will have me slapped!

Hey, that...

They were looking so dashing, sir!

How they fought! They

killed everybody one by one!

Karan and Arjun are amazing!

- Where did you see them?

- On television, sir,

He showed me 'Mahabharata'

on TV He told me to tell you...

...that I had seen Karan and

Arjun and even gave Rs.100.

No!

No! No!

Sir... he is... lying!

- Have you come to joke with me?

- No!

Henceforth, if you

play such a prank...

...you will not even

be able to talk!

Get out!

- Come on!

- My work is done!

I am as close to you

as your own heart beat.

At the earliest opportunity

I'll free you and take you away.

- Daughter-in-law!

- What are you doing?

I will turn mad!

I saw them with my own eyes.

You must be very happy.

Your powerful sons have returned

to answer the Thakur's atrocities!

But the villagers say

they haven't come.

You tell me whether they have come.

How can a mother's sons stay away

after hearing her call out to them?

When a mother is tormented,

even the skies are in turmoil.

They are with me.

There they are.

These are Karan and Arjun!

The same face!

The same body! The same eyes!

The Thakur is dead!

Yes.

Spring has returned to my dreary life.

Durjan Singh started this war.

But my sons will finish it.

I am with you in this battle!

Check if everything is all right.

Yes Dad. They are the same

weapons that I had selected.

- Take this.

- We'll take the truck to the godown.

And dispatch it from there.

Be careful. No mistakes this time.

Or we'll suffer heavy losses.

This contains our

profit too not only yours.

We have as much a share

in it as you do. Don't worry.

- Go on then.

- But what's the hurry?

First let the band play.

What band? Whose band?

His band and his too.

It was your command.

You have organized a party.

I've made such fantastic

arrangements that you...!

You'll be left agape!

Where are the weapons?

Did the earth swallow them

or the sky eat them up?

I want to know how the arms

vanished from the truck?

The cost over a crore!

Who is responsible for this?

The bottle of wine is responsible.

They must be drunk lying

somewhere like rotten dogs!

For your avarice, you cheated us!

If you think you'll

make money off me...

Then you won't hear

the clink of that money!

You'll hear the screams of death!

The screech of your death!

I don't like anybody cheating me!

Tell me where the arms have vanished!

Or I'll throw the curtain

of death on both of you!

The curtain of death!

I want the arms! The weapons!

We have never been so badly

insulted until today.

Yes, Shamsher! We will come

out clean from this degradation!

But how?

Irrespective of the truth,

Karan and Arjun have a hand in it.

Both of us have seen them.

Until we throw those two dogs

at brother-in-law's feet...

...neither will the truth surface...

Nor will brother-in-law believe us.

But how do we reach Karan and Arjun?

There is one way.

Mother! Mother!

Hey! He is Usha's son.

Usha... your son.

Son! What happened to my child?

Get up! What happened?

"If you do not send Karan and

Arjun to the hill within an hour...

...then we'll start sending the

corpse of every child here."

I think, Karan and Arjun

have not got our letter.

We will have to send

another letter. Understand?

Hey! Come here!

Yes, you!

Do not kill me!

Do not kill me!

Run or I will shoot!

Help!

Did you see? Our hunters have

come here as our victims!

I will kill the rascals!

No. No! First we will

show them to brother-in-law.

And prove that we were right

and that the villagers lied.

- We have come.

- Leave the children.

Get up!

Leave the children.

Now we will take you

to brother-in-law.

Why did you stop?

Garlands?

These are the garlands which we

gave her to put on her sons' picture.

These garlands will

seal your fate today.

They will become

flowers for your bier.

Flowers for our bier?

Old woman! I think we should

read out your last rites too...

...along with Karan and Arjun's.

Shamsher, start the jeep!

What???

- These are the same guns.

- Thieves caught with the loot.

They must have had a fight over

the loot and killed each other!

You had nurtured snakes!

Snakes? Call them pythons!

Someday they would have

swallowed the mansion too!

They made a hole in my boat!

Good the bastards died.

Or they would drown themselves

- I did.

These weapons are worth millions.

And you have called the police?

Give it a thought. If the

landlord was caught with the arms...

The police would have imprisoned

the landlord, his son and you.

It would have been dangerous.

So I put the blame on these two.

- Greetings, sir!

- Greetings!

It's good you informed us

through your man.

Your brothers-in-law

indulged in illegal arms.

Yes. I just heard about it.

They killed each other

for money and arms.

They have brought disgrace

to the family's name.

Madam! The landlord is damned!

This is called killing

2 birds with one stone!

Goods worth millions damned,

and Nahar and Shamsher too...

...are damned!

Let alone Nahar and Shamsher...

...Even Durjan Singh

would not have been saved!

- Bindiya!

- Shut up!

Bindiya, give me some grams.

Put some more.

Some more.

- Hey, you!

- Yes?

Eating so many grams. Were you

a horse in your previous birth?

- What are you eating?

- Biscuit.

Were you a dog in your last birth?
