Man:
I'm trying, guys.

26

00:
02:21,474 -- 00:02:23,635

Just not making it easy.

27

00:
02:33,653 -- 00:02:35,450

Boy:
Would you relax?

28

00:
02:35,488 -- 00:02:38,480

Girl:
Don't worry.

He's amazing.

29

00:
02:38,525 -- 00:02:41,426

You have to meet him.

Just chill out!

30

00:
02:41,461 -- 00:02:42,689

What makes this guy

so great, Joe?

31

00:
02:43,396 -- 00:02:44,522

Just wait here.

32

00:
02:44,564 -- 00:02:46,395

Mr. Sloan?

33

00:
02:46,699 -- 00:02:48,667

Would you come on!

34

00:
02:55,608 -- 00:02:57,667

Girl:
Hey,

Mr. Sloan!

35

00:
02:57,710 -- 00:03:00,543

Hey, Joe. Don't you guys

have school today?

36

00:
03:00,580 -- 00:03:03,640

Summer vacation started yesterday.

This here's Tommy.

37

00:
03:03,683 -- 00:03:05,548

How you doing, Tommy?

38

00:
03:08,555 -- 00:03:10,523

Doesn't look like

a champion to me.

39

00:
03:13,560 -- 00:03:14,584

Come on!

40

00:
03:14,627 -- 00:03:16,561

Are you new in town, Tommy?

41

00:
03:16,596 -- 00:03:18,655

No, he just got out

of "juvie".

42

00:
03:18,698 -- 00:03:20,689

And he can t talk

for himself?

43

00:
03:21,434 -- 00:03:22,628

Nah, he's too bad

to talk.

44

00:
03:22,669 -- 00:03:26,435

I told him about that thing

you do with your eyes closed.

45

00:
03:26,472 -- 00:03:28,440

Oh, the rock and the river?

46

00:
03:28,474 -- 00:03:29,566

Yeah, that's it.

47

00:
03:29,609 -- 00:03:31,577

Later, Joe.

48

00:
03:32,512 -- 00:03:34,480

Chickenshit.

49

00:
03:44,624 -- 00:03:46,524

I'll tell you what, Tommy.

50

00:
03:48,628 -- 00:03:50,619

You take your best shot.

51

00:
03:50,663 -- 00:03:52,597

Hah.

52

00:
03:54,734 -- 00:03:56,634

Ughh!

53

00:
04:07,547 -- 00:04:11,483

You know, Tommy,

sometimes when you're blind,

54

00:
04:11,517 -- 00:04:13,576

and times seem darkest,

55

00:
04:13,620 -- 00:04:15,747

you often see things

more clearly.

56

00:
04:30,570 -- 00:04:33,630

Come by the gym sometime.

I'll show you how it's done.

57

00:
04:37,810 -- 00:04:40,643

He looks like

a champion to me.

58

00:
04:50,556 -- 00:04:52,524

You didn't put that tape

on too tight

59

00:
04:52,558 -- 00:04:54,617

like you used to do

all the time, did you?

60

00:
04:54,661 -- 00:04:56,561

Shut up!

61

00:
04:56,596 -- 00:04:59,690

Electric notice.

Second time.

62

00:
04:59,732 -- 00:05:01,563

So pay it.

63

00:
05:01,601 -- 00:05:02,693

With what?

64

00:
05:02,735 -- 00:05:04,703

Come on, will ya, Jack?

65

00:
05:04,737 -- 00:05:06,728

We gotta talk, David.

66

00:
05:10,743 -- 00:05:12,711

Students:
Sh-hh.

Be quiet.

67

00:
05:12,745 -- 00:05:15,737

The most dangerous

weapon in the universe

68

00:
05:15,782 -- 00:05:17,773

is a focused mind.

69

00:
05:18,818 -- 00:05:21,787

You're mind should be like

a still, calm pool.

70

00:
05:22,655 -- 00:05:25,681

Tranquil. Relaxed.

71

00:
05:25,725 -- 00:05:28,717

One violent emotion

is like taking a rock

72

00:
05:28,761 -- 00:05:31,559

and dropping it into

that smooth pond.

73

00:
05:31,597 -- 00:05:32,689

Everything s chaos.

74

00:
05:32,732 -- 00:05:35,667

Concentration is lost.

75

00:
05:36,736 -- 00:05:39,705

Brian is going to show

us how to lose

76

00:
05:39,739 -- 00:05:41,707

with dignity and grace.

77

00:
05:42,675 -- 00:05:44,700

- You ready?

- Any time, old man.

78

00:
05:44,744 -- 00:05:47,611

See, he's trying to throw

a rock into my pond.

79

00:
05:50,817 -- 00:05:52,751

Knockdown ends the lesson.

80

00:
05:58,825 -- 00:06:00,793

Students:

Yeah.

81

00:
06:12,772 -- 00:06:14,899

Student:
Come on.

Go man, go!

82

00:
07:16,836 -- 00:07:18,667

Not even close.

83

00:
07:27,914 -- 00:07:28,903

Students:
Ooh!

84

00:
07:28,948 -- 00:07:30,916

Rock hit the pond.

85

00:
07:30,950 -- 00:07:32,781

What are you doing?

86

00:
07:33,820 -- 00:07:36,721

I told you...

knockdown ends the lesson.

87

00:
07:36,756 -- 00:07:37,882

That was a slip!

88

00:
07:37,924 -- 00:07:39,915

Had it been a real fight,

I'd have won.

89

00:
07:39,959 -- 00:07:42,757

But what do you know

about real fights?

90

00:
07:47,834 -- 00:07:48,994

Lesson's over.

91

00:
08:03,716 -- 00:08:05,775

Listen, I'm sorry.

92

00:
08:05,818 -- 00:08:08,719

I just want to be

as good as you.

93

00:
08:09,755 -- 00:08:11,950

It's all right.

You're going to be better.

94

00:
08:11,991 -- 00:08:13,891

You're a hell of a fighter.

95

00:
08:14,894 -- 00:08:15,952

A hell of a fighter.

96

00:
08:15,995 -- 00:08:18,862

And David Sloan...

97

00:
08:18,898 -- 00:08:20,991

the last of the great

Sloan Dynasty.

98

00:
08:21,033 -- 00:08:23,968

I saw your exhibition

this summer.

99

00:
08:24,003 -- 00:08:27,769

It was sublime,

a religious experience.

100

00:
08:27,807 -- 00:08:31,004

Justin Maciah,

sports visionary.

101

00:
08:31,043 -- 00:08:34,774

Maciah:
I ve created the United

Kickboxing Association.

102

00:
08:36,048 -- 00:08:38,881

This one of your

future champs?

103

00:
08:38,918 -- 00:08:40,909

Yeah, someday.

104

00:
08:40,953 -- 00:08:43,979

He needs a little bit of work,

but he's pretty sharp.

105

00:
08:44,023 -- 00:08:45,888

He took you apart, Sloan.

106

00:
08:45,925 -- 00:08:48,951

That last move was

a woman's bullshit move.

107

00:
08:50,796 -- 00:08:52,787

He has his problems

with the Sloans.

108

00:
08:52,832 -- 00:08:54,823

Both of your brothers

beat him in the ring.
