No he didn't. But maybe, I can pull some strings and find out.

CALLUM:

Good! In the meanwhile, I will look for him out in the city.

SARAH:

Good luck!

CALLUM:

You too! And be careful! Don't let Kiara catch up!

Sarah nods her head and Callum heads for his room to get changed. Sarah calls John.

SARAH:

Hey, John! It's Sarah!

INT. MORSIUS HEADQUARTERS - B1 - CONTROL ROOM

Clifford enters the control room, wearing his armor, and the pin he received in the Park, attached with a string at his neck. Nigel is inside the room, searching through the map of the city and monitoring MOSIUS patrols. He spots Clifford entering the room and turns his attention towards him.

NIGEL:

Morning, Reyes! Or should I call you, MORSIUS?

CLIFFORD:

Call me whatever you want, boss.

NIGEL:

Oh please, I am no boss. It’s okay for you to call me Nigel. Or M.

CLIFFORD:

Is M your codename?

NIGEL:

Not as cool as MORSIUS, but I can work with it.

CLIFFORD:

Then what is Sabine’s codename?

PA feedback is heard as Nigel presses a button on his desk.

NIGEL:

S, you are requested to the Control Room.

CLIFFORD:

S?

SABINE:

So nice to see you bonding. You made quite the entrance yesterday.

CLIFFORD:

Not sure if M here forgot about it.

NIGEL:

Well, MORSIUS, I want you to be safe.

Clifford chuckles.

CLIFFORD:

It's getting nowhere with the codenames, right?

NIGEL:

For the HQ, let's keep with our real names.

CLIFFORD:

Agreed. So, what’s the schedule for today?

SABINE:

For now, patrol routes.

NIGEL:

Yeah, but I am not risking sending you out with MOSIUS branded armor.

CLIFFORD:

Why?

NIGEL:

Actually, today I am not planning on sending you on the field at all.

CLIFFORD:

What? Why? Is it because of yesterday’s mess?

NIGEL:

Oh no, nothing like that. That was your first day, everyone screwed big on their first day. You should have seen Sabine's first day.

SABINE:

Oh come on, it was not that bad!

NIGEL:

Girl, I still am missing hair!

CLIFFORD:

What?

SABINE:

It was an accident.

NIGEL:

Yeah, involving the plant on Sooda Island.

CLIFFORD:

You wouldn't happen to be the reason why that island is not habituated anymore, am I right?

NIGEL:

Like I said, everyone screwed big on their first day. Some change the layout of a building... Some change... The land...

Sabine rolls her eyes and Nigel chuckles.

CLIFFORD:

Okay, so it isn't this, but then why? Why can’t I go on a patrol?

NIGEL:

Because all patrol routes are taken. We have enough officers dispatched already.

SABINE:

Nigel-

NIGEL:

Why don’t you go take a walk through the city? It’s your free day, after all.

CLIFFORD:

Guess you’re right, besides, I actually felt like walking anyway.

NIGEL:

Good.

Clifford begins heading towards the door. Nigel stops him and he turns around.

NIGEL:

Clifford! The armor?

Clifford looks down at his armor, then back again at Nigel and heads to the door.

CLIFFORD:

Right! I’ll take it down now.

Clifford leaves the room.

SABINE:

Nigel…

NIGEL:

What Sabine?

SABINE:

Oh… nothing…

Nigel leaves the room, Sabine remaining all alone.

INT. REYES MANOR. DAY.

Kiara and Tony are in Tony's office. Tony sits down at his desk, while Kiara spins around the room.

TONY:

Honey, will you stop?! You've been moving for the past 15 minutes!

KIARA:

How can you be so calm?

TONY:

Because I know that Clifford will return! I did the same when I was his age. Left home for days, didn't return.

KIARA:

Maybe you did, but not Clifford.

TONY:

Why can't you just admit that Callum is right?

Kiara stops for a second then looks surprised.

KIARA:

What did you just say?

TONY:

You know he is right. It's not too late to say when you are wrong!

KIARA:

Cannot believe you would take their side!

TONY:

I take their side because they are the ones making sense!

KIARA:

You used to be on my side-

Tony cuts Kiara off and stands up.

TONY:

There is no side here! There is only right and wrong. You getting worked over Clifford's leaving is wrong! You know how he always thought of you!

Tony exits the office. Kiara pulls out her phone and calls somebody.

KIARA:

Hey! It's Kiara! I need you to track a call down!

EXT. NURONA’S CENTRAL MARKET. DAY

Clifford is walking through the market avoiding people. He finally finds a corner he can sit in and relax in. He leans on a pillar.

CLIFFORD:

I love hanging out here.

Clifford pulls out some photos from his pocket.

CLIFFORD:

Hmm… looks like the one… the one in NYC…

Clifford begins texting on his phone photos with the Central Market and finds a photo of the boy that gave him the pin here.

CLIFFORD:

What? What is he doing here?

The two Shadow stragglers walk around the market.

CLIFFORD:

Sh*t! Shadows.

Clifford puts the photos and phones in his pocket and hides behind a haystack. Panicked, he presses the bracelet and begins talking with Nigel.

M! M!

NIGEL:

Oh hey there, MORSIUS! Enjoying your free day?

CLIFFORD:

Not anymore! I am at the Central Market! Those Shadow Stragglers are here.

NIGEL:

WHAT?! There are no units around you…

CLIFFORD:

No need! I’ll defeat them.

NIGEL:

If you are gonna fight them, you’ll reveal yourself as MORSIUS!

CLIFFORD:

I said I am smart! I can handle it! Shadows are extremely aggressive. I'll use that against them.

Clifford hangs up and walks towards the Shadows and

bumps into one.

SHADOW MEMBER 1

Hey! Watch where you’re going!

The Shadow pushes Clifford, but he punches them and knocks them out. The other member pins Clifford to the ground and starts to choke him.

SHADOW MEMBER 2

Let’s see how strong you are, now, b*tch!

The Shadow looks at Clifford's necklace.

SHADOW MEMBER 2

Wait! What's that?!

The Shadow loosens their grip on Clifford's neck, when Callum comes from behind and hits the Shadow, making them get off his brother. Clifford is shocked at the sight of his brother, realizing he might learn about his identity.

CALLUM:

Hands off my brother!

CLIFFORD:

Callum?

Callum helps Clifford get up.

CALLUM:

You okay?

CLIFFORD:

Yeah!

The Shadow gets up as well and begins chasing the boys.

SHADOW MEMBER 2

Yeah, but I don’t think you will now!

CLIFFORD:

Callum, trust me! RUN!

Clifford grabs Callum's hand. Dramatic music plays in the background. The Shadow runs after the two boys as they run through back alleys. They reach a dead end and Clifford begins looking around.

CALLUM:

Dead end!

CLIFFORD:

No, the ladder! Quick!

Clifford and Callum climb the ladder.

CLIFFORD:

Okay, we’re gonna go over the rooftops!

CALLUM:

WHAT? ARE YOU CRAZY?

Clifford turns around.

CLIFFORD:

Don’t think we have much of a choice!

The straggler reaches the rooftop.

CALLUM:

You can’t kill us, we are two, you are one!

STRAGGLER:

Oh really, do any of you have this?

The straggler pulls out an assault rifle.

CLIFFORD:

Oh how much I’d pay to have one of those now!

Clifford grabs Callum’s hand.

CALLUM:

What are you doing?!

CLIFFORD:

Trust me! JUMP!

Clifford runs with Callum towards the edge of the rooftop and jumps down in the river.
