Maria:
Como aves precursoras de primavera

En Madrid aparecen las violeteras

Que pregonando parecen golondrinas

Que van piando, que van piando

Gabriella:

[Instrumental]

Maria and Gabriella: Cómpreme usted este ramito

Cómpreme usted este ramito

Pa' lucirlo en el ojal

Gabriella:
Is It Wonderful.

Maria:
Our Performance

Chorus:
Come on and hear, come on and hear

Alexander's Ragtime Band

Come on and hear, come on and hear

It's the best band in the land

Male Chorus:
They can play a bugle call

Like you never heard before

Female Chrous:
So natural that you want to go to war

Chrous:
That's just the bestest band what am, Honey Lamb

Come on along, come on along

Let me take you by the hand

Up to the man, up to the man

Who's the leader of the band

And if you want to hear the Swanee River played in ragtime

Come on and hear, come on and hear

Alexander's Ragtime Band

Chorus:
A clown with his pants falling down

Or the dance that's a dream of romance

Or the scene where the villain is mean.

That's entertainment!

The lights on the lady in tights

Or he bride with the guy by her side

Or the ball where she gives it her all.

That's entertainment!

The plot can be hot, simply teeming with sex

A gay divorcee who is after her ex

It could be Oedipus Rex

Where a chap kills his father and causes lots of bother.

The clerk who is thrown out of work

By the boss who is thrown for a loss

By the skirt who is doing him dirt

The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment!

It might be a fight like you see on the screen

A swain getting slain for the love of a queen

Some great Shakespearean scene

Where a ghost and a prince meet, and everyone ends in mincemeat.

The guy who was waving the flag

That began with the mystical hand

Hip hooray! The American way

The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment!
