the lake, alone.

I started hitting pine

cones with a stick.

(grunting)

I don't know.

I guess I missed one and fell

and the next thing I know,

I'm waking up on the ground,

my head is f***ing throbbing.

I'm not sure if I'm

still high on drugs

or if I'm just hungover.

I only thought I was out

for a couple hours tops.

I had no idea I was

out for the whole day.

I meant to head back to camp,

took a wrong turn,

and next thing I know,

I'm f***ing lost at night

in these deep ass woods

and it's just...

So, I sat down to rest,

went and passed out.

The next morning, I wake up

and I found them.

I wish I hadn't.

I don't understand.

Let me spell it out for you.

There was no foul play.

Since Cooper was never killed,

Dawson never confessed, did he?

Did he, Willy?

I didn't do it.

I didn't kill Cooper.

You're a liar!

You're a liar, aren't you?

You're a liar.

You're a f***ing liar.

Willie, stop.

Tell me the truth!

[Jack] Let him

go, Willie, god.

You were my best

f***ing friend

and you f***ing lied to me.

You were supposed to

be my f***ing friend.

You're supposed to

tell me the truth.

No.

You said so yourself.

A traumatic event can trigger

repression of memories.

It can block out your

own malicious deeds.

Well, sooner or later

you're gonna have to accept

what you did.

(door opening)

Guys.

What do you think?

Do I think he

believes his own story?

Maybe.

I mean, it's possible he's

made up an alternate version

of reality to protect

himself from his own actions.

Yeah, and maybe he's faking.

I mean, he's intelligent enough

to know what's at stake here

and living out your

days in a psych ward,

hell of a lot better

than state prison.

My god, I mean, if he is,

he's a good f***ing actor.

So, which one are you gonna

write up on your report?

(intense orchestral music)

("The Coming Days"

by Hello Echo)

Drew a face in the air

Was my own and back

at me it stared

Said it's time to wake up

The coming days

aren't a given

Is that job what

you're supposed to do

Then I woke on the stairs

With my brains all

mixed up with my hair

Guess its time to get up

No one put us in prison

But we're acting unfortunate

Time is on our side but we

were fooled, we lost the way

Wait did we

Ignoring all the rules the

window closed, we didn't choose

Wait did we

And the pain that's involved

to just work and

not love it at all

And be hearing the call

And not be able to listen

And know how much

it pertains to me

Pay the bills

Pay the rent

When that's over

what do you have left

When the energy's gone

Sleep is one way

to get it back

But we're taking another way

Time is on our side but we

were fooled, we lost the way

Wait did we

Ignoring all the rules the

window closed, we didn't choose

Wait did we

Once I felt so strong,

they didn't get

what I was saying,

it mattered not

What they believed,

or than the way

that I was measuring it

Drew a face in the air

Was my own and back,

at me it stared

Said it's time to wake up

The coming days

aren't a given

Is that job what

you're supposed to do

Got so sick of it all

Felt my back right

up against the wall

When the feeling is gone

Dreaming's one

way to get it back
