StuffRoger, B.K.

ThangAnd here's your boutonniere.

Bog KingQuickly!

Thang You sang pretty good.

Stuff You should see me dance.

*Thang and Stuff exit*

Bog KingWhy would she...oooh

Marianne Who likes this?

Bog KingNot me!

Marianne I hate it!

Bog KingI hate it more!

Marianne Oh, yeah?

*breaks a decoration*

They're all fools!

Bog KingRushing in.

Marianne They can't help it!

Bog KingThey're in chains...

MarianneThat bind you!

Bog KingIt's nothing but...

Marianne Trouble!

Bog KingIt's like their middle name is misery.

*Bog King and Marianne bump into each other while destroying the decorations*

Well... What's the point?

Marianne Bursting bubbles!

Bog KingThat's what they get.

Marianne Lies and more lies!

Bog KingPain!

Marianne Sorrows!

*throws boutonniere on floor and crushes it with foot*

Bog KingWait!

*picks up boutonniere*

I... actually like this one.

Marianne Why?

Bog KingI... I don't know.

Marianne Well, it's... It's...lovely.

Thang I don't wanna be carrying this.

*bringing in Sugar Plum Fairy*

StuffAntidote's ready, sire.

Bog KingWell? Where is it?

Sugar Plum FairyIt's a riddle!

MarianneA riddle?

Bog KingWhat about all that stuff you asked for?

Sugar Plum FairyYou know, in prison, it's hard to shop! Would you like to hear the riddle, or not?

Bog KingNo!

MarianneYes!

Sugar Plum FairyThen listen carefully. The antidote is the one thing more powerful than the potion.

Thang Did she say "antidote" or "anecdote"?

Bog King & MarianneI hate riddles!

Act 11 Scene 7

In the Dark Forest, Roland leads his army on the way to Bog King’s castle.

SunnyThe moon is sinking fast. Can we go... maybe a lot faster?

Roland Halt!

Sunny What?

Roland Did you see that? I believe that is the ugliest creature I have ever seen! And it was naked!

Goblin *to mushroom, running away coving self in leaves*

An army approaches.

-

Bog King’s Castle, Thang receives the message from the Whispering Mushroom

Thang Got it! Yes! What was that again?

Bog KingSomething more powerful...

Marianne ...than the potion.

Sugar Plum FairyThat's what I said.

ThangSire! News from the mushrooms! An arm skis on roaches.

*Bog King glares*

Carry on!

StuffHow'd you do?

ThangI nailed it!

*goblins exit while Griselda sneaks in*

Bog KingSomething more power...

Sugar Plum FairyI'm bored! I'll just tell you.

Bog King & MarianneGreat!

Sugar Plum FairyIf you set me free.

Bog KingNo!

*sees Marianne’s begging face*

Okay.

Sugar Plum FairyYeah! Then I will reveal the antidote with a story.

Bog KingWhat? No!

Sugar Plum FairyOne fateful day, when the Bog King was young and impetuous, he fell in love...with a sweet young thing.

Bog KingShe was the most beautiful creature I ever saw.

Marianne Seriously?

Sugar Plum FairyHe was so in love. But Bog, he had no patience.

Bog KingThat's enough!

Sugar Plum FairySo, he came to me for my love potion. I tried to tell him how it worked. But he dusted the sweet, unsuspecting creature.

Bog KingPlum, I beg you.

Sugar Plum FairyAs she was gazing into the eyes of a lovesick Bog...

Bog KingEven with a love potion...I'm too hideous to love.

MarianneYou're not hideous.

Sugar Plum FairyHideous, not hideous, whatever! But that's not why the potion didn't work.

Bog KingWhat?

Sugar Plum FairyShe was already in love with someone else!

Marianne So, the one thing more powerful than the potion is... real love?

Sugar Plum FairyBingo! That took forever!

Bog KingWhy didn't you tell me?

Sugar Plum FairyYou shut me away, and you shut me up! And Griselda blames me for the no-love-in-the-Dark-Forest!

GriseldaTeaching moment. There are no shortcuts to love. Just saying.

Bog KingStuff, take it away.

StuffOkay, B.K. Here.

*gives cage to Thang*

Sugar Plum FairyWait, wait, wait! Wait a minute!

MarianneThis antidote won't help Dawn. She's never been in love with anybody.

Bog KingI shouldn't have used the potion on that poor, sweet...Nothing would have been...

MarianneReal.

Well... I know all about getting your heart broken. I almost married someone who didn't love me.

Bog KingWhy?

MarianneHe was so good-looking. Maybe I couldn't bear to see that...he really was a shallow, power-hungry, cheating, chattering, pig son of a...

Bog KingWhoa, whoa, whoa!

Marianne Inside, I knew he didn't want me to be...

Bog KingYou?

MarianneYeah.

Bog KingBut you are...different.

Marianne I've been told.

Bog KingThat's what I like! I mean... Well, you know.

Marianne So, now I keep my guard up.

Bog KingMe, too.

Marianne And most important, I never...

Bog King & MarianneTrust anybody!

Marianne Come on. Let's go stretch our wings.

Bog KingGood idea! Good idea. Yes.

*Picks up Marianne’s sword*

Here.

MarianneThank you.

*both exit*

Act 11 Scene 8

Outside Bog King’s Castle

Marianne Maybe you should rethink this entrance.

Bog KingTry thinking of this... as an adventure!

MarianneNice goblin. Hey, how about we go back?

Bog KingWhy? The moonlight is perfect right now. Come on..."tough girl."

In my mind.

Making waves across my time.

Marianne "Played you"? I don't under...

*sees Roland’s army as Bog King exits*

Oh, no. Oh, no, no, no.

Act 11 Scene 9

Outside Bog King’s castle. Roland is leading the army to the entrance.

Roland Halt!

Disgusting creatures, I come in peace. I must get this love potion to your Bog King by moondown. I will need only three men. My army will wait here.
