TomKat: Double Impact Page #11
Season #All- 148 Views
Her boss,
RACHEL LEWIS, walks up to her.
RACHEL:
Kat, are the bars all set for the
crowds?
KAT:
Bartenders are all set with ice.
The wine finally arrived and the caterer is ready to serve the hors d'oeuvres.
RACHEL:
Kat, I don't know how I'll do it
when you leave. You have been a miracle around here.
KAT:
Oh, you'll do fine. Rebecca is a
good hard worker.
RACHEL:
She is, but she is not nearly as
organized as you. (looking at the front door) Well, here comes the first customer.
KAT:
That's Mr. And Mrs. Dunhill. I
think we have our first sale. I invited them last week when I told them who the artist was.
RACHEL:
Good luck!
TOM (CONT'D)
The usual staid Prescott Browning always gives me a high five and a
big smile in the office since I have brought his company billions of dollars of business from Morgan.
INT. PALM
Kat sets up the opening party featuring a wildlife artist.
BEACH ART GALLERY - LATE AFTERNOON
Kat walks to the DUNHILLS, shakes their hands and shows them the art on the wall.
LATER:
58.
Kat and Rebecca Latham are standing at the counter by a register processing a credit card sale.
REBECCA:
Kat, you have sold six paintings
so far, more than Mr. Lewis and I together.
KAT:
incredible Everglades wildlife artist. Palm Beach loves him.
REBECCA:
I know, but Mrs. Lewis is asking
top dollar for them.
KAT:
Fortunately, Palm Beach has those
top dollars. Mrs. Lewis knows what she is doing.
Rebecca looks up at the crowd.
REBECCA:
Ooh, my Lord, look at that Greek
god who just walked in.
Kat turns to take a look and to Rebecca's surprise Kat bolts toward the man. She seizes him in an embrace, wordlessly wraps her arms around him, forcing her head into his chest. After a few seconds she looks up and they kissed.
REBECCA (CONT'D) (looks at Mrs. Lewis who
just walked up)
Either that is her Tom or Kat is quite the aggressive one.
Kat and Tom are still in embrace. She looks up at him.
KAT:
What are you doing here?
TOM:
I am taking the long way to Cairo:
New York to Miami to Cairo. I'll leave first thing tomorrow morning, if that's all right with you.
KAT:
Do you even have to ask?
59.
Kat takes Tom's hand and leads him to the counter where Rebecca Latham and Mrs. Lewis are standing. She introduces Tom Ford to both of them.
RACHEL:
It's nice to meet you, Tom. Kat
spoke warmly of you. Kat, we can handle it from here. Go enjoy your time with Tom.
KAT:
Thanks, Mrs. Lewis. I'll finish my
work tomorrow.
EXT. A PLANE LANDS AT CAIRO AIRPORT - DAY
Tom is unpacking his suitcase when there is a knock at the door. He opens it. Jackie enters.
TOM:
Jackie, great timing!
JACKIE:
Let me tell you the plans.
TOM:
Did you bring the Cheytec?
JACKIE:
Sure did. You told me that the
Cheytec would be the best gun for the thousand yard shot we are asking you to take. Our intelligence has told us that Mohammed Elison's lieutenant, Khalid Abedi, will be travelling with the caravan. The powers that be would like to take the two out. Would that be a problem?
TOM:
That wouldn't be a problem. You
just need to point out the targets.
JACKIE:
Don't worry. I etched those guys'
faces in my mind. I know them better than their mother does.

JACKIE (CONT'D)
In two days we take a helicopter
to the desert. We will arrive about an hour before the caravan passes. Should give us plenty of time.
TOM:
Good. That gives me two days to
work on the deal. I'll be working with Martin Paxton. We must find the usual something for him to do while we take care of the other business.
JACKIE:
Already taken care of. Martin will
be given a helicopter tour of the desalinization building sites while you are taking care of the other business.
TOM:
Perfect. I will tell him that I
have a meeting with the engineer of the project.
JACKIE:
Then we are all set. I will pick
you up in a couple of days at noon. We should have you back in your hotel room by five.
A helicopter lands about a hundred yards behind the hills. Tom and Jackie emerge and take out the gear. Each are wearing the traditional Galabeya and kufiya. Tom and Jackie look at the hill they must climb with the gear.
JACKIE All set? Let's go.
Tom and Jackie climb the hills and find a good spot that offers both cover and a good view of the caravan road about a thousand feet away. Jackie sets his Swarovski Spotting Scope on its tripod and Tom sets the tripoded rifle on flat ground. Jackie looks through the spotting scope.
61.
Tom looks
JACKIE:
Tom, your target will be exactly
1089 yards away when he passes that rock on the side of the road. Do you see it?
through the scope.
TOM Got it.
Jackie Brandt holds up a weather meter.
JACKIE:
The wind is left to right at
twelve miles per hour. It is pretty steady. There is almost no humidity.
Tom adjusts the scope in consideration of this information.
TOM:
I'm all set. I guess we wait.
Jackie, I appreciate the leads you gave me with the media. Kat would be wasting away in jail today if not for your help.
JACKIE:
You are welcome Tom, but it was
Morgan you should thank. He did most of the work. I contacted Ken Randall, but the others were from Jay.
TOM:
What is it with that guy? Have you
ever met him?
JACKIE:
Oh yeah. He is quite the
eccentric. You wouldn't forget him. I'll introduce you to him someday.
TOM:
I would like to meet him to thank
him for his help with Kat, the business leads – and the Jaguar.
JACKIE:
Jay Bailey likes your efforts for
his cause. (MORE)

JACKIE (CONT'D) He also thinks your business
skills were also a find. He previously used bankers who, and I quote, "have no f***in' imagination and are as "boring as sh*t." His language is colorful and vulgar, regardless he speaks to.
Jackie scours the horizon with his Swarovski Spotting Scope. He finds the approaching camel caravan in the distance. With the caravan of twelve camels and twelve men advancing, Jackie gives a steady stream of wind velocity and direction.
JACKIE (CONT'D) Target number one, Elison, is
number three in line, Target number two, Abedi is number four, directly behind him.
TOM:
Abedi's first to go, then Elison.
Tom makes a final adjustment on the scope and focuses on Abedi. He pulls the trigger. Abedi falls off his camel and hits the ground. A definite kill shot. Tom quickly manipulates the bolt to insert another round into the breech. He focuses on Elison who is not yet aware of the fate of his lieutenant. As Tom pulls the trigger Elison turns slightly behind him and the bullet hits him in the shoulder. He falls off the camel, confused. Tom searches for Elison through the scope and sees him flailing in pain behind the camel. Tom doesn't have a shot. He is blocked by the camel. He takes a shot to move the camel and grazes the camel's ass. The camel bolts forward giving Tom a clear
shot at Elison. He aims and fires -- his chest, an instant conclusion to Elison's terrorist.
TOM (CONT'D) (in a whisper)
May the power of Christ compel you.

life as a
Amen.
