REUVEN (CONT'D)

If it weren't for Charles Martel,

and later, King John Sobieski at Vienna in 1683, we all would be submitting to Allah today and living under Sharia Law. That war persists today. We have lost 7,000 Americans fighting jihad around the world since 9/11.

JACKIE:

The Martels is comprised of many

private individuals, all volunteers, representing several countries and acting collectively for a common cause against a common enemy. We assume a hard line against the jihadists and we are convinced we can only win this war by killing them before they kill us.

TOM:

So the Martels are a response to

Western governments' complacent response to jihad?

REUVEN:

(Excitedly)

Exactly! The West has lost it's will to survive. And we, The Martels, need to lead the effort to protect ourselves.

TOM:

So how do I fit in?

JACKIE:

You are a civilian, anonymous, a

trustworthy patriot and, most critically, possess certain skills we can use.

TOM:

You refer to my shooting skills?

REUVEN Reuven slaps the table.

Yes!

19.

REUVEN (CONT'D)

We want you to shoot the bastards!

Good guys rarely fight evil until it's too late. We didn't fight the Nazis until they invaded Poland. That was 1939, long after it was clear of their intentions to kill millions. Instead, we got 'Peace in Our Time.' To state it not so simply, we must do to them before they have a chance to do what they want to do to us.

JACKIE:

I realize you have much to think

about. I won't lie to you. This is serious and could be dangerous. Please think about it, Tom. I'll contact you when you return to the states.

TOM:

I won't be back for another four

months but I'll certainly think about your offer. I've been considering some way to serve the country. This may just be the way to do it.

Jackie stood up, paid the bill and looked at

JACKIE:

What will you do after your trip?

TOM:

I plan to move to New York City

and start a career in finance.

JACKIE:

That would be a perfect cover!

CINDY:

Kat, after I marry tomorrow you

will be he last among us remaining single.

20.

WOMAN #1

Cindy, you know that I am no

longer married. Wasn't that a disaster?

KAT:

Yes it was. I remember the

midnight phone calls and the hours of crying over the phone.

WOMAN #1

Why didn't you tell me he was such

a sh*t.

We did!

ALL IN UNISON:

KAT:

Well, I am taking my time. I am

only twenty four. I figure I have a few years left. Besides, I have a great job working in the art gallery. I'm learning how to manage a business. Someday I'll open my own.

CINDY:

Kat, you would be perfect for

that!

KAT:

It's late. I better get going. See

you all tomorrow.

Kat hugs all the women and leaves the room.

EXT. FIFTH AVE - NIGHT

Kat walks up Fifth Avenue to the top of The Plaza Hotel's top step and turns around to continue her walk. She walks along Central Park South past a line of Hansom Cabs. At Avenue of the Americas she enters Central Park. About 50 yards into the park she is attacked by a large man (BILL GRIFFIN) wearing a black leather jacket. He forces his switchblade against her neck and pushes her past some bushes to a small opening. His other hand covers her mouth.

BILL:

Do exactly as I say or you as dead

as that Rosenberg b*tch. Scream and I will cut your heart out.

21.

He hits Kat on the back of her head with his fist, knocking her to the ground. He walks up to her and cuts her blouse open with his knife.

Bill smiles. He steps back unzips his pants and drops them to his knees. With his testicles exposed Kat quickly bolts to one knee and sharply punches them with her fist.

BILL ...owwwooooh!

Griffin is shocked by the attack and drops his knife as he grabs his balls. A gun falls out of his pants pocket. Kat rolls back a few feet simultaneously forcing her hand into her handbag. She pulls out a Ruger LCR .38 special Double Action Revolver. She jumps up holding the .38 in a two- handed combat stance, pointing directly at Griffin's chest.

Griffin grapples with his pants which now are down to his ankles.

KAT Don't move.

BILL:

Jesus, let me pull up my pants.

KAT:

"...on your knees and move away

from your knife and gun. Bill Griffin kneels.

BILL:

Why do you want me...?

KAT:

Move away from your weapons!

Kat re-aligned the sights to his head.

BILL:

Oh, God! Oh, God!

KAT:

Is that what you said to Rebecca

Rosenberg when you raped and killed her? I read about that poor Rosenberg woman. I will not be your next victim.

22.

BILL:

(showing anger)

She wanted it. I'm gonna do the same to you. No cracka whore can order me around.

Bill Griffin lunges towards his gun. Kat doesn't hesitate. She pulls the trigger hitting Bill Griffin in the head. He is instantly killed and crumples to the ground. Blood pools around his head. Kat, still pointing the gun at him, sneers at Bill Griffin:

KAT:

The feared hunter is now the

defeated prey. Burn in hell. She slowly lowers the gun to her side.

DR. FORD

have a lot to talk about.

EXT. THE 21 CLUB ENTRANCE - ESTABLISHING - EVENING

INT. THE 21 CLUB - BAR ROOM - DAY/NIGHT?
