Synopsis: This story is about a Muscovite Georgy Abaev, who dreamed of becoming a famous film director since childhood and shooting a picture of his dreams, which will receive the main prize at a prestigious international film festival. — Georgy, a student of the directing faculty of the VGIK Film University named after S. A. Gerasimov, accidentally falls into disgrace with the master of the course Gleb Glebovich and goes to military service, where he gets to serve in a special purpose unit of the GRU (The Main Intelligence Agency). George's place of service will be the Syrian Arab Republic. In one of the battles, George is seriously wounded, as a result of which he goes completely blind. The moral overcoming of a physical illness, the return to normal life become difficult for George, associated with vicissitudes. VOICE-OVER OF A REPORTER FROM A RUSSIAN TV CHANNEL

V.O.

In the province of Deir ez-Zor, a decisive battle is underway with the Islamic State group, banned in Russia. The fighting for the city on both sides of the Euphrates River turned into a large-scale offensive operation. The support of the Russian Aerospace Forces and special operations forces units contributes to the defeat of the ISIS terrorist group by the Syrian government forces. The remnants of the defeated ISIS formations scattered in the desert are no longer able to change the situation in the region in the future.

12. EXT. HOSPITAL – DAY

Lisa has passed the hospital garden, approaches the entrance to the main hospital building. On the passage to the hospital building, a short nurse in a white coat and cap appears in front of Lisa, accompanying blind George in a binocular bandage, hospital robe, holding her shoulder with his hand. The nurse and blind George pass through the doors of the main entrance, disappear inside. Lisa is stunned, does not move from her place.

13. INT. HOSPITAL ROOM — DAY

Georgy Abaev is lying on the bed, motionless with a binocular bandage over his eyes. On the hospital table — a handful of military awards, a transistor running quietly. Lisa is sitting on a chair next to the bed, looking at George, there are tears in Lisa's eyes. George is silent.

Lisa is silent too, puts her hand on George's chest. George stands up a little, leans back against the headboard of the cot, takes a half-sitting position. Silently, he beckons Lisa to move closer with his hand. Lisa stands close to the cot. George runs his fingertips up and down Lisa's face, from forehead, eyebrows, nose, lips, chin, neck. Lisa is crying silently; tears are pouring down her cheeks. Georgy smiles a little reassuringly.

14. EXT. VGIK — DAY

George with short hair, wearing black glasses, a white shirt, a strict suit with 2 Orders of Courage, holding Lisa's elbow, tapping his cane in front, approaches the historical building of the VGIK film University.

15. INT. HALL OF THE VGIK — DAY

Georgy, accompanied by Lisa, enters the historical building of the VGIK, passes through the entrance, walks down the corridor, approaches the dean's office of screenwriters. Gleb Glebovich is waiting for Georgy and Lisa at the dean's office.

GEORGE'S TRANSFER FROM THE DIRECTING FACULTY TO THE SCREENWRITING DEPARTMENT IS BEING CONSIDERED.

16. INT. DEAN'S OFFICE — DAY

Gleb Glebovich introduces Georgy and I climb into the dean's office; he passes by himself. There is an authoritative commission of 5 teachers at the long table, everyone is looking at George. Gleb Glebovich looks noticeably sympathetic. Lisa sits George down at the chair of the commission's counterpart, takes his bag and, whispering "Everything will be fine!" goes out to wait in the corridor. Lisa sits down on a bench, waiting, puzzled.

A middle–aged man - the chairman of the commission reads out the agenda of the meeting in a loud voice: "The issue of transferring Georgy Abaev, a student of the directing faculty, to the screenwriting faculty is being considered!"

17. INT. CORRIDOR OF THE VGIK — DAY

Lisa is sitting on a bench in the hallway, thoughtfully, waiting for George. A noisy group of students, including Stas, passes by Lisa in the corridor. Stas smiles at her, strikes up a conversation.

STAS:

Hi!

LISA:

Hi!

STAS:

Do you want to take a ride around the city? (Pause, seeing Lisa's confusion)

What are you doing here, waiting for someone?

Stas curiously opens the door of the dean's office, looks inside, sees George sitting in front of the commission.

STAS:

Ah! Well...

(pause)

If you decide, I'll wait downstairs at the entrance.

Stas is leaving. Lisa resolutely takes her phone out of her bag, dials a number, records a voice message.

18. EXT.VGIK — DAY

Against the background of the monologue:

LISA (V.O.)

Georgy, darling! I realized that I couldn't be with you anymore.

(pause)

Forgive me, if you can, of course.

Lisa comes out of the doors of the historical building of the VGIK. There is a black BMW executive class on the road nearby. Stas is waiting at the BMW.

Stas sees Lisa approaching, is delighted, opens the front passenger door, and sits Lisa down. Lisa is thoughtful. — Stas and Lisa are leaving.

19. INT. AT THE DOOR OF THE DEAN'S OFFICE – DAY

George comes out of the dean's office, the bench where Lisa was waiting is empty. George's PHONE makes a sound of receiving a message. George presses the button to listen to the message.

20. EXT. VGIK — DAY

George leaves the historical building of the VGIK, accompanied by Gleb Glebovich. Georgy stops, shakes hands with Gleb Glebovich, says goodbye. George continues walking on his own, taps with his cane, hesitantly begins to descend the stairs. On the 2nd step, he stumbles, falls, rolls down. Furiously hits the asphalt with a cane, smashes it into splinters. Students come running to George, Gleb Glebovich helps to get up, dusts George off.

EXITING THE FLASHBACK

21. INT. ROVD — EVENING, ARTIFICIAL LIGHTING

George is sitting without emotion, looking at one point. The policeman on duty, a senior lieutenant, approaches the door of the cell, with Gleb Glebovich with him. Gleb Glebovich remains waiting at the entrance to the cell.
