96 Minutes Page #10

Synopsis: Inspired by true events, 96 minutes is the story of four young lives slammed together in one shocking moment. The events of the night in inner city Atlanta, Georgia, unfold in real time as we inter-cut between a carjacking and the beginning of that day, following four separate kids - who they are, where they come from, and the seemingly innocuous decisions that lead them towards a life changing conclusion. With no adults to guide them, they're left on their own to try to survive not only this night, but the complex reality of the world they live in.

973

00:
48:31,953 -- 00:48:33,841

I know you're gonna go to jail

974

00:
48:33,906 -- 00:48:35,135

for the rest

of your life, okay,

975

00:
48:35,201 -- 00:48:37,279

over some a**hole your

mom brought home, okay?

976

00:
48:37,393 -- 00:48:39,215

Let's think about it

for a second.

977

00:
48:41,168 -- 00:48:43,920

Can you just

take a walk with me?

978

00:
48:45,345 -- 00:48:47,247

Kevin, take a walk with me.

979

00:
48:48,976 -- 00:48:50,128

You trust me, right?

980

00:
48:53,872 -- 00:48:55,984

Yeah, all right.

981

00:
48:56,048 -- 00:48:57,424

Let's do this.

982

00:
49:59,677 -- 00:50:01,820

I don't know about this whole

"winner buys the drinks" thing.

983

00:
50:01,885 -- 00:50:03,531

Well, it's the least

you two can do

984

00:
50:03,596 -- 00:50:05,389

after making me look

like a chump over there.

985

00:
50:05,453 -- 00:50:06,926

It's all in the wrist, baby.

986

00:
50:06,991 -- 00:50:07,885

- Is that right?

- Uh-huh.

987

00:
50:07,949 -- 00:50:10,028

Whoa. Tequila shots already?

988

00:
50:10,094 -- 00:50:11,931

Mm. I like to think of these

989

00:
50:11,997 -- 00:50:13,852

as little shots of courage.

990

00:
50:13,918 -- 00:50:15,020

Courage for what?

991

00:
50:15,084 -- 00:50:16,797

Nothing. We're

aborting the mission.

992

00:
50:16,799 -- 00:50:18,717

Oh, I think someone

needs another shot.

993

00:
50:18,782 -- 00:50:20,988

Um, Michael has

a date here tonight.

994

00:
50:21,053 -- 00:50:23,452

- What?

- I thought you two were still together.

995

00:
50:23,518 -- 00:50:25,099

- Yeah, me, too.

- What an a**hole.

996

00:
50:25,165 -- 00:50:26,363

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

997

00:
50:26,428 -- 00:50:27,387

Speak of the devil.

998

00:
50:27,452 -- 00:50:29,883

Is that the girl?

999

00:
50:29,949 -- 00:50:31,772

Yeah.

1000

00:
50:31,837 -- 00:50:33,052

He's such an ass.

1001

00:
50:33,116 -- 00:50:34,508

Are you okay?

1002

00:
50:34,572 -- 00:50:35,980

Yeah.

1003

00:
50:36,045 -- 00:50:37,756

Can we just go?

1004

00:
50:37,820 -- 00:50:40,059

No. No, you have

to say something.

1005

00:
50:40,125 -- 00:50:41,259

Seriously,

now's the time. Go on.

1006

00:
50:41,325 -- 00:50:43,323

Taking the reins

of life, baby. I love it.

1007

00:
50:43,388 -- 00:50:46,474

- So does that mean he's single now?

- Jill.

1008

00:
50:46,476 -- 00:50:47,452

- I'm kidding.

- Yeah.

1009

00:
50:47,516 -- 00:50:48,779

Seriously, I'm kidding.

1010

00:
50:48,845 -- 00:50:50,218

Well, I'm gonna go see if

I can find some sucker

1011

00:
50:50,284 -- 00:50:51,755

to try to take me on in darts.

1012

00:
50:51,820 -- 00:50:52,603

I'll take that challenge.

1013

00:
50:52,668 -- 00:50:54,010

Rach, I'm kind of ready to go.

1014

00:
50:54,077 -- 00:50:55,163

Oh, you can't go.

1015

00:
50:55,419 -- 00:50:56,347

The night's just

getting started.

1016

00:
50:56,491 -- 00:50:57,642

Yeah, and... and I'm driving,

1017

00:
50:57,707 -- 00:50:59,147

so if I'm staying,

you're staying.

1018

00:
50:59,212 -- 00:51:01,146

My God. I wrecked my car.

Please just have some mercy.

1019

00:
51:01,211 -- 00:51:02,986

You wrecked your car?

1020

00:
51:03,050 -- 00:51:04,634

It's been a long day.

1021

00:
51:04,699 -- 00:51:05,820

Well, I can take you home.

1022

00:
51:05,884 -- 00:51:07,146

Really?

1023

00:
51:07,212 -- 00:51:09,690

Yeah. No, I think I've squeezed

1024

00:
51:09,755 -- 00:51:11,370

all the fun I can

out of this place.

1025

00:
51:11,435 -- 00:51:12,346

- No. Stay.

- No...

1026

00:
51:12,411 -- 00:51:14,026

No, I'm taking the reins, baby.

1027

00:
51:14,091 -- 00:51:15,131

Touch.

1028

00:
51:15,196 -- 00:51:16,441

All right,

well, go easy on him.

1029

00:
51:16,506 -- 00:51:18,186

He's already had his ass

handed to him once tonight.

1030

00:
51:18,250 -- 00:51:19,290

I'll see you at home?

1031

00:
51:19,355 -- 00:51:20,858

Yeah. You have your keys?

1032

00:
51:20,923 -- 00:51:21,914

Yes. I think.

1033

00:
51:22,171 -- 00:51:23,705

Bye, guys.

1034

00:
51:23,770 -- 00:51:25,001

Have a good night. Bye.

1035

00:
51:41,049 -- 00:51:43,577

Oh, Jesus, help me, please.

1036

00:
51:45,033 -- 00:51:46,440

It's okay.

1037

00:
51:48,203 -- 00:51:49,576

You're gonna be okay.

1038

00:
51:49,641 -- 00:51:51,432

I want to go home.

1039

00:
51:59,128 -- 00:52:00,408

Oh, God.

1040

00:
52:00,474 -- 00:52:01,624

Gonna be all right.

1041

00:
52:01,689 -- 00:52:03,913

Please, help me.

1042

00:
52:03,978 -- 00:52:05,928

Please help me.

1043

00:
52:06,936 -- 00:52:07,831

" Open up the shells. "

1044

00:
52:07,896 -- 00:52:09,223

" Put your 5-o out. "

1045

00:
52:09,288 -- 00:52:10,855

" No mercy, no pleas, "

1046

00:
52:10,919 -- 00:52:12,265

" let my trigger finger

squeeze. "

1047

00:
52:12,330 -- 00:52:13,735

" My money's on my mind, "

1048

00:
52:13,801 -- 00:52:15,399

" and I'll pay

to make you bleed, "

1049

00:
52:15,465 -- 00:52:16,328

" 'cause I sneak a... "

1050

00:
52:19,479 -- 00:52:20,968

Shh. Shh.

1051

00:
52:35,110 -- 00:52:36,614

Hey. Hey.

1052

00:
52:40,487 -- 00:52:41,447

Shh.

1053

00:
52:41,512 -- 00:52:43,110

Oh, God.

1054

00:
52:50,758 -- 00:52:52,549

Are you okay?

1055

00:
52:54,358 -- 00:52:56,550

Hey. Hey, wake up.

1056

00:
52:58,438 -- 00:52:59,654

Hey. Hey.

1057

00:
53:02,501 -- 00:53:03,813

Shh.

1058

00:
53:06,406 -- 00:53:07,973

Sh*t.

1059

00:
53:58,372 -- 00:53:59,811

What are you doing?

1060

00:
54:01,939 -- 00:54:03,764

I gotta think.

1061

00:
54:11,573 -- 00:54:12,692

Sh*t.

1062

00:
54:33,843 -- 00:54:35,698

You want to have sex?

1063

00:
54:37,139 -- 00:54:38,419

No.

1064

00:
54:43,314 -- 00:54:45,906

Take your pants off.

1065

00:
54:45,971 -- 00:54:47,794

No. No. No.

1066

00:
54:47,858 -- 00:54:50,786

I'm not f***ing around, girl!

1067

00:
54:57,106 -- 00:54:58,321

Come on!

1068

00:
54:58,385 -- 00:54:59,663

O... okay.

1069

00:
54:59,729 -- 00:55:00,721

Please don't do this.

1070

00:
55:00,785 -- 00:55:02,417

Please don't do this.

1071

00:
55:09,393 -- 00:55:10,545

Please don't do this.

1072

00:
55:10,609 -- 00:55:11,824

Now, b*tch.

1073

00:
55:15,792 -- 00:55:18,561

I cannot wait

for this day to be over.

1074

00:
55:18,626 -- 00:55:19,520

I hear you.

1075

00:
55:20,737 -- 00:55:23,761

Oh, sh*t, I forgot my credit

card back at the bar.

1076

00:
55:23,825 -- 00:55:24,719

I'll wait here.

1077

00:
55:24,783 -- 00:55:26,000

I'll be right back.

1078

00:
55:45,120 -- 00:55:47,375

Where the f*** are we?

1079

00:
55:47,441 -- 00:55:48,127

By the college.

1080

00:
55:48,192 -- 00:55:50,319

What are we doing over here?

1081

00:
55:51,216 -- 00:55:53,871

Come on, man. I'll show you.

1082

00:
55:53,936 -- 00:55:56,463

It's a good place

right up here.

1083

00:
55:56,559 -- 00:55:58,573

I'm hungry.

1084

00:
55:58,638 -- 00:56:00,944

It'll be a'ight.

1085

00:
56:01,009 -- 00:56:01,615

Hey.

1086

00:
56:01,680 -- 00:56:02,479

Got it?

1087

00:
56:02,543 -- 00:56:04,927
