96 Minutes Page #5

Synopsis: Inspired by true events, 96 minutes is the story of four young lives slammed together in one shocking moment. The events of the night in inner city Atlanta, Georgia, unfold in real time as we inter-cut between a carjacking and the beginning of that day, following four separate kids - who they are, where they come from, and the seemingly innocuous decisions that lead them towards a life changing conclusion. With no adults to guide them, they're left on their own to try to survive not only this night, but the complex reality of the world they live in.

434

00:
22:18,305 -- 00:22:22,798

And I'm just

completely paralyzed

435

00:
22:22,864 -- 00:22:25,678

by the thought of him

not loving me.

436

00:
22:26,431 -- 00:22:27,823

Hey. Come here.

437

00:
22:47,711 -- 00:22:49,183

Get your hands up!

438

00:
22:49,248 -- 00:22:50,175

Get down!

439

00:
22:50,400 -- 00:22:51,886

- Come on, man!

- Get down!

440

00:
22:51,951 -- 00:22:53,006

Get off me, man.

441

00:
22:53,070 -- 00:22:54,397

I didn't even do anything!

442

00:
22:54,462 -- 00:22:57,502

Shut the f*** up.

What is this sh*t?

443

00:
22:57,695 -- 00:22:59,438

What the f*** you think it is?

Books, man.

444

00:
22:59,503 -- 00:23:01,630

F*** I think it is? You

gonna get smart with me?

445

00:
23:01,695 -- 00:23:02,926

Shut the f*** up!

446

00:
23:02,990 -- 00:23:04,062

You little smartass.

447

00:
23:04,126 -- 00:23:05,757

Where you going?

448

00:
23:05,824 -- 00:23:06,604

I'm going home, man.

449

00:
23:06,669 -- 00:23:07,935

Home? Where you live?

450

00:
23:07,967 -- 00:23:09,758

I live up the block, man.

This is bullshit.

451

00:
23:09,822 -- 00:23:11,421

I didn't even do anything.

Get off me.

452

00:
23:11,486 -- 00:23:14,590

We didn't ask you did you

do something, smartass.

453

00:
23:14,654 -- 00:23:15,951

Get the f*** off me, man.

454

00:
23:17,550 -- 00:23:18,972

He's clean.

455

00:
23:19,037 -- 00:23:20,876

Let his b*tch ass up.

456

00:
23:20,941 -- 00:23:23,501

Get off the streets, boy.

457

00:
24:12,011 -- 00:24:13,355

Yaah!

458

00:
24:27,196 -- 00:24:28,186

Where's your mom?

459

00:
24:28,252 -- 00:24:29,690

Sleeping.

460

00:
24:30,923 -- 00:24:32,825

Where are your manners, boy?

461

00:
24:32,890 -- 00:24:34,489

Get out of my way.

462

00:
24:37,435 -- 00:24:39,178

Come on, man. She's sleeping.

463

00:
24:40,220 -- 00:24:42,235

And what are you gonna do, boy?

464

00:
24:43,642 -- 00:24:45,145

You gonna stop me?

465

00:
24:45,210 -- 00:24:48,761

Why don't you go out and play

with your little boyfriends.

466

00:
24:48,826 -- 00:24:49,818

Heh. Go.

467

00:
25:10,585 -- 00:25:12,153

Hi.

468

00:
25:41,050 -- 00:25:42,280

What?

469

00:
25:45,062 -- 00:25:47,207

Tokyo?

470

00:
25:47,271 -- 00:25:50,327

Well, did you tell them that...

471

00:
25:54,967 -- 00:25:57,589

Yeah. Everything else

is going really good.

472

00:
25:59,415 -- 00:26:03,029

I haven't really talked

to missy in a while, dad.

473

00:
26:04,407 -- 00:26:06,519

Dad, um...

474

00:
26:07,735 -- 00:26:10,646

It would really mean a

lot to me if there was...

475

00:
26:10,711 -- 00:26:13,621

If there was any way that you

could... you would come here,

476

00:
26:13,687 -- 00:26:16,214

because, you know, I only

graduate once, and...

477

00:
26:19,766 -- 00:26:21,782

Well, law school

is a long way away.

478

00:
26:24,216 -- 00:26:26,212

Um...

479

00:
26:26,277 -- 00:26:28,308

Dad, you've never

even visited me

480

00:
26:28,373 -- 00:26:30,773

this entire time

that I was here,

481

00:
26:30,839 -- 00:26:33,718

so, I mean, is this meeting

really that important?

482

00:
26:40,341 -- 00:26:41,589

Yeah. Oh, yeah.

483

00:
26:41,654 -- 00:26:43,013

No, I totally understand.

484

00:
26:45,973 -- 00:26:48,821

Okay. Okay, call me back.

485

00:
27:04,885 -- 00:27:07,028

F*** this.

486

00:
27:11,411 -- 00:27:13,716

Max. Hey.

487

00:
27:13,781 -- 00:27:17,827

Heh. You feel like getting your

ass kicked at darts again?

488

00:
27:17,892 -- 00:27:20,050

It is so on.

489

00:
27:21,221 -- 00:27:22,564

No. Nah, nah.

490

00:
27:22,628 -- 00:27:24,931

You're gonna have to

rewind it, run that back.

491

00:
27:24,996 -- 00:27:26,690

Ain't no way

it went down like that.

492

00:
27:26,755 -- 00:27:27,906

N*gger, I ain't bullshitting.

493

00:
27:27,971 -- 00:27:30,627

There I was minding

my own f***ing business,

494

00:
27:30,691 -- 00:27:32,547

and she walk up butt-ass naked.

495

00:
27:32,612 -- 00:27:34,211

- No drawers at all?

- No drawers.

496

00:
27:34,275 -- 00:27:36,739

Damn, boy, why sh*t like

this don't happen to me?

497

00:
27:36,803 -- 00:27:38,403

'Cause you ain't

got no swag, n*gger.

498

00:
27:38,468 -- 00:27:39,522

Swag. You know it.

499

00:
27:39,588 -- 00:27:42,017

- I got swag.

- What... Your girl just a ho.

500

00:
27:42,083 -- 00:27:43,298

Yo, what up, wigger?

501

00:
27:43,363 -- 00:27:44,578

What you doing round here?

502

00:
27:44,642 -- 00:27:46,131

Yeah, ain't you supposed

to be in school?

503

00:
27:46,195 -- 00:27:47,586

School is for pussies.

504

00:
27:47,652 -- 00:27:49,907

Why don't you go grab

me a beer or something?

505

00:
27:49,971 -- 00:27:51,521

Why don't you go

grab yourself one?

506

00:
27:51,586 -- 00:27:53,281

Listen to the little tough man.

507

00:
27:53,346 -- 00:27:55,042

Man, why you always

calling me little,

508

00:
27:55,106 -- 00:27:56,897

like I'm 12 or some sh*t?

509

00:
27:56,899 -- 00:27:58,592

'Cause you look like

you 12 or some sh*t.

510

00:
27:58,659 -- 00:28:00,177

- I'm not a kid.

- Is that right?

511

00:
28:00,244 -- 00:28:03,250

Just as tough as any

of you motherfuckers.

512

00:
28:04,563 -- 00:28:06,913

Oh, you want to be

a gangster now, huh?

513

00:
28:06,977 -- 00:28:09,760

Yeah, y'all just won't let

me in 'cause I'm white.

514

00:
28:09,825 -- 00:28:11,057

Hey, that's bullshit.

515

00:
28:11,122 -- 00:28:12,929

See, we an equal-opportunity

street crew around here.

516

00:
28:12,994 -- 00:28:15,249

And I know Dre daddy

a cracker just like you,

517

00:
28:15,363 -- 00:28:18,432

and, see, Keith, he got some

chink in him, don't you, Keith?

518

00:
28:18,498 -- 00:28:19,426

Shut the f*** up.

519

00:
28:19,491 -- 00:28:21,584

So then why not let me in?

520

00:
28:21,650 -- 00:28:23,248

Yo, this ain't playtime, man.

521

00:
28:23,314 -- 00:28:25,425

This sh*t here is for real.

522

00:
28:25,490 -- 00:28:26,815

Yo, J.J., what about Dre?

523

00:
28:26,833 -- 00:28:28,576

F*** Dre.

524

00:
28:31,729 -- 00:28:32,993

Go on.

525

00:
28:45,584 -- 00:28:47,536

Another time.

526

00:
28:50,208 -- 00:28:51,711

Pshew pshew.

527

00:
28:51,776 -- 00:28:52,960

25 points.

528

00:
28:53,024 -- 00:28:54,111

What?

529

00:
28:54,176 -- 00:28:56,095

You know, shooting a cop.

25 points.

530

00:
28:56,160 -- 00:28:59,615

Damn. I mean, I think that

at least be like 50 points

531

00:
28:59,744 -- 00:29:01,135

or something like that,

bro. Come on.

532

00:
29:01,199 -- 00:29:03,055

Nah, n*gger, 25.

You trippin', man.

533

00:
29:03,119 -- 00:29:04,783

Hell you thinking 'bout?

534

00:
29:04,848 -- 00:29:05,902

So that's it?

535

00:
29:05,967 -- 00:29:06,799

I'm in now?

536

00:
29:06,864 -- 00:29:08,094

Nah. That's just us

537

00:
29:08,191 -- 00:29:10,205

having some fun

whupping your ass.

538

00:
29:10,271 -- 00:29:12,032

Come on, man.

539

00:
29:12,096 -- 00:29:13,406

What do I gotta do?

540

00:
29:13,472 -- 00:29:16,063

Why don't you go steal us

a car or something, bro?
